No surprise: Battleships are armoured against guns of their own calibre. The only realistic chance a cruiser has against a battleship is getting close and perform a successful torpedo attack. However, the AI is pretty limited so this was never an option. Only target practice for Temeraire.

Those are some super long range bombers, to be able to reach that far in the atlantic.

This is the first time I've seen an aircraft carrier used effectively in Atlantic Fleet. Generally speaking, the game puts carriers in a very bad spot, because the scenario starts with the carrier in gunnery range of enemy ships, which should never be allowed to happen. In this case the German destroyers did not make the best use they could have of the time available. They should all have charged the carrier at flank speed, using their forward guns, and hopefully have gotten into torpedo range at some point. If so, they might have sunk the carrier or at least started deck fires by getting hits with HE ammo...which would have prevented further launching of the carrier's aircraft. I'm surprised they were so ineffective. The air attacks were done very well, particularly the bomb runs, which were very accurate. Good work by the carrier. I find carriers are usually almost useless in Atlantic Fleet, but they were anything but useless in real life!

Very important ... always turn towards the enemy so that only the forward turrets can be used and never, I emphasize, never launch a coordinated torpedo attack with the rest of the flotilla. Battleships must always be engaged with the 12.7 cm guns. Also, the use of higher speed and mobility is not necessary to fight a heavily armored and armed enemy.

This is like a 10 versus 1

Way this happens is if Prince of Wales (presumably with 6-8 of her 10 guns working) gets early hit like Rodney did and knocks out Bismarck's forward fire control, allowing a lopsided 2-1 hit ratio. In a running fight Prince of Wales would thus have the upper hand

Poor matchup, and the game is tilted against the Germans every time.

This "game" seems to always favor the British with early hits and German responses never hit anything.

The German ships should have fared a LOT better with better rangefinders, in addition to shorter reload times. This was driven by AI and isn't a real world outcome.
