I'd also just like to say that I always love it any time Jeremy Crawford talks about his husband, because, even in the smallest mentions, you can always hear just how in love he is, even after all the time they have been together, which is wonderful. 💖
Really enjoyed this interview! Glad it didn't get bogged down with OGL stuff, even without the warning in advance that would have been a difficult position to put them in.
Also, I really like Chris's favorite character. It feels absolutely like him: "there's absolutely no DM who would hurt this character worse than I would."
So happy to see Perkins gearing up as a dungeon master again. In my humble opinion he is the greatest to ever sit behind the screen. Unfortunately he's DMing for Holkins and crew instead of the Waffle Crew. I'll take what i can get though.
I don't know about the greatest ever having not checked every DM, but he's definitely goat tier. probably some kid dm'd best session ever
Hopefully this is start of more to come. Was super bummed when he was unable to do the ‘D&D Presents’ thing.
What I gathered from this interview is that they are both extremely conscious of how a mechanic can have mass appeal and fits with what the company perceives as desirable. They first ask themselves what satisfies everyone and then how can we make a fun mechanic that fits that instead of starting with a passion and figuring out how to fit that into the company's goals. I don't know, it just feels like these two are at the point that they are too hyperaware of ratings instead of building a game that is actually fun.

These two are the best at what they do. I just want an adventure or lore book that just drips with amazing lore and info.
This was a great interview. They are both such thoughtful guys, and warms my heart to hear other human beings openly admit to spending a lot of time on DM prep and call it therapeutic. It’s one of my favorite passtimes too.

Jeremy Crawford has a husband and gives theology talks in cathedrals. I believe him now when he says he likes how "passionate" fans get about things.
I think he's my new hero.
I had would never have guessed but it's really cool!
And hearing that his husband is a huge LotR expert and would scrutinise his answer to the Sauron question and also is the lorekeeper in Jeremy's home campaign is really sweet.

5:30 ~ Imagine being DMed (even a 1 hour one shot) by Chris Perkins... BUT, nothing is "sacred" ANYTHING goes, needs to be SUPER fun, but "grounded" in the D&D lore of the DMs choosing AND, again, "let him loose" as a DM :P I can imagin great hings both for the DM and the players at that table.

Jeremy has mentioned his campaign-setting once before. I would love to hear more about it. Maybe make it a book/novel? or a official D&D campaign setting?
But i would understand it if he would keep it only to him and his table.
I think that's a really hard line to draw. Cause it wouldn't be yours anymore
@@NerdImmersion I guess that becomes a thoughtful question right almost like the Ship of Theseus. Is the campaign he's running his setting or is the mainstays of the world and the worldbuilding of it the setting? I mean if you change and alter things in the FR setting it's still overarching in the FR right?
Though it could be a thing of him wanting to keep it secret because he wants it to only be his and that's valid too
Tbf, he has said he has included some aspects of his setting in official books, like Van Richten's Guide, which includes some of Crawford's home game lore about Ravenloft. (As he mentions in this very interview)

Hey Ted, in regards to all the questions you've received from fans to ask WOTC, I think it would be helpful to collaborate with other creators who are going (like Bob or Ginny Di) because: (a.) I'm sure they've received a ton of similar questions and; (b.) you can all figure out the best and most diverse, comprehensive list of questions to ask.
At Pax, did they have sponsored tables for the playtest for OneDND? It would be curious what their data from that shows?

D&D 6th edtion is going to suck. With these two game designers. Just look at how bad the math is in 5th edtion, after level 5 the game just Falls apart
And its these two game designers cant do simple mathematics. All the good ones are working in a company called paizo.😂
