This was all in the name of marketing. Her father wanted to market her as this prodigy that can write, produce, act, dance, sing and f’d over other people doing so and tainted her authenticity as an artist. It’s just really annoying to see how much credit she gets as a “visionary creative” when she’s literally needed other people’s projects to build on top of since she came out.
Everyone has needed everyone’s project. That makes no sense and she literally has been credited as a vocal producer on her songs, source: producers in the music industry. Writing songs isn’t a single stage, first producers create a track then lyrics are added then in post production the vocals are added then vocal production. Sometimes lyrics aren’t even in the songs or only a few lyrics like this is what you came for by Rihanna and Calvin Harris. You guys don’t know how the music industry works AT ALL😂😅. She CAN write, produce, dance and not necessarily act but she is mostly an all rounder

I have never bought one single Beyoncé record. I came upon a recommendation for her album “Lemonade,” so I checked it out tonight. Not even two songs in, I turned that shit off. Not because it sounded bad, but because that second song was littered with unoriginal shit. The song downright plagiarized the chorus line lyrics from the hit song “Maps,” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (and yes, the subject matter was the same - Maps was about the female lead singer being cheated on by her bf who was also a touring musician), but also had the sound of No Doubts’ Rock Steady. It was just... gross, listening to lifted ideas and lyrics like that.
It was Future's song and he was pressured to give it to her cause she heard it and liked it.
And went running to put it out first like she always does to othet females artists.

Beyoncé is a great performer and vocalist, no one can argue that, but she’s not a musician. This would be fine if she didn’t routinely lie about it. It’s true that she “co-writes” but what’s been revealed over the years is that her writing credits for pretty much her entire solo career amounts to changing one word from a fully written song. Yes, you can get a writing credit for changing one lyric in a song. You can also get a credit for only writing background vocals and adlibs as it falls under “vocal arrangement”. Which she also does. She’s also routinely lied and taken credit for other’s work. Generally songwriters write how they speak, and as we know, Beyonce can barely form a sentence so I find her supposedly being a prolific songwriter hard to believe.

The Future one was a misunderstanding between him and the producer. Migos gave Bey and Jay Apeshit, there’s interviews of them talking about it and they are proud of it.

About a month ago I was listening to "Maps" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and realized the chorus sounded exactly like chorus of Bey's "Hold Up" from the lemonade album. A few of the words are changed, but it's strikingly similar, even down to the beat. When I shared that information with others, they claimed it was theft. I didn't know to think then and I don't know now

This is an excellent video and it exposes what happens often in the music industry. Most of your favorite artists have stolen ideas, flows, concepts, melodies and songs from lesser known artists who didn’t have the prestige or money to speak up for themselves. Social media has this to be brought to the attention of the masses but prior to that it happened and people didn’t have a voice. Jay-Z is one the biggest biters/thief’s in the music industry which is probably why they make a perfect couple.

1) Watch the introductory moments of Michael Jackson’s “Live in Bucharest” DVD and then compare that with Beyoncé’s stage entrance in the late 2000s for “The Beyoncé Experience.” It’s very subtle yet blatant thievery.
2) Compare the video for “Diva” to Mariah’s for “I Stay in Love” which was released a few months earlier. It’s far more than just the black and white aesthetic. It’s in many ways a photo negative of the same video with a different song and flashier sunglasses. Fifteen years later and I’m still shocked that basically no one has said anything.
Late to the party, but there the time she ripped off Kylie minogue opening act number from her KylieFever tour in 2002 for beyonce 2007 BET performance. When called out, beyonce sited the exact same inspiration that kylie and her creative team named for their inspiration for kylie tour, which didn't make sense since hers was a carbin copy of kylie robot and outfit with the only difference being that beyonce was in gold were as kylie's was silver.

Im just here to say that Beyoncé’s second studio album is just called “B’Day” not “Birthday”. It’s a play on her name and her birthday (4 Sept 2006), which is when the album dropped in the States.

These things are unfortunately very common in the industry. Most of the time, it has to do with the teams surrounding them. You could do a deep dive on a lot of artists and would find the same thing. You have artists like Jenifer Lopez who not only steal artists songs but, their vocals as well. I could name a few others but, then someone will say I’m deflecting. To say that Beyoncé isn’t a true artist or musician because of things like this, is an incredibly foolish thing to think. Beyonce’s artistry is deep and she is one of the few artists today that still care about and dedicate so much time to it.

The song he wrote for Kellis was interpolated into Beyoncé’s album without telling her because she didn’t own rights to the song, she didn’t even listen to the song before reacting because she reacted based on a fan telling her Beyoncé sampled her song based on the leaked version of Beyoncé’s album. She routinely takes a writing credit for the most minimal contributions, like changing the word "Smack" to "Smash" in "Smash Into You" or changing a line in "Listen" (which caused her not to be nominated to the Oscar because how small her contribution was). I wish she had more integrity in this regard. It's true that legally she's entitled to a writing credit for changing a word, but most artists choose not to take it. Writing credits are import for revenue is split amongst the songwriters, and she's taking money from them for almost doing nothing.
