don't talk trash about your teacher... this guy did an incredibly crappy job of explaining... the difference between pythagorean 1-2-3 right triangle, and a squared plus b squared = c squared in relation... isn't observed at all... you don't think it is a big deal because you have no idea how the knowledge was evolved or what procedures were used to verify the methods physically.
unfortunately the possibility of overcoming that liability exists almost exclusively in a circumstance where your education system has an extreme respect for posterity both on the part of the teachers and students.
ie. if you do not teach the physical mechanics of how laying out a long division problem in the traditional way only works by doing the problem from left to right... eventually that knowledge can be largely forgotten and falsified on accident or on purpose... regardless the product will be a largely disenfranchised population that doubts it's ability to use math to build a home or an airplane...
and it doesn't take much of that to lose most of what little knowledge you do have.. less than a generation.
this problem is tough... you need to upgrade your teachers with absolute honesty... and as much professional posterity as they can possibly muster..... and you need to do that without attacking or otherways hurting your teachers feelings... confidence, love of their work and the community...
you need to produce students who love their study.. who are also incredibly respectful of their own professional posterity in that study... whom respect the teacher and their potential to mislead on purpose or by accident.... you need students who are genuinely interested in learning as much as they possibly can so they can take care of the next gen without setting it up to be leveraged by dishonest politics or similar...
and you need to achieve all that without radicalizing the students... without hitting their knuckles with a ruler... or allowing them to run amuck in the classroom destroying the other students respect for that class and their education.
how do you get the best of the best in teachers and students without ruining it by being excessively brutal or excessively soft on either teachers or students?
respect... for the occasion of your own existence...
if it were easy to truly give that to everyone... this problem wouldn't be a problem

It went from easy to tf?????.
Righttt
That's what I'm thinking
What's all this root nonsense & how TF is 2x2x3x3x3 simpler than 108??
@@plusibo you might want to look up factorization and powers; then those last steps will make more sense.
i'll try to explain it a bit though:
in this context writing 108 as a product before taking its root eventually does simplify things... but to see that, let's work with something smaller first.
say you have √12.
according to a calculator and approximating, it's around 3.46.
but, let's factorize.
12 = 2²x3, and, for how powers work, its square root is 2√3... which feels nicer to write to me than √12 or ~3.46.
so, with 108: it's 2²x3³, so (knowing powers), its square root is 6√3... which, again, to me feels nicer to write than ~10.39 or √108.
but that's not all: you could notice 6√3 is exactly 3 times 2√3, so we now know that √108 is 3 times √12...
and if i punched everything in a calculator, personally i wouldn't notice these kind of relationships (aka, that that second 'roughly 10.39' is extacly three times that first 'roughly ~3.46'...)
so, factorizing can make it simpler to get a grasp of the result, and, again, i encourage you to look up these topics if you're not all too familiar with them, since they are sprinkled thoughout geometry.
