    What a big difference in the amount of gear these old time hunters carried in the field, a bow, arrows and a flute ! Simple and effective.

    Fred was one of the classist gentleman I had the pleasure of knowing. He hunted and bagged every big game animal on the planet and mostly wore his grey trousers, a plaid shirt, wool Fedora, Red Wing boots and a camo jacket. There were times he wore camo pants, but very few and far between.
    True hunters, have the skill to ‘hunt,’ not sit in a tree stand and wait, but actually stalk their prey on the same plane, not perched in a tree trying call their quarry to them, that’s pure laziness.
    I tried a tree stand one time and absolutely hated it! I hunt on the ground, fair chase and still use my Bear Kodiak Recurve that Fred signed and gave to me in 1976. 62# at 29” draw, and I still use my 125gr. Bear Razorheads and 125 gr. Zwickey Eskimos, which have served me well for over 40 years, which are mounted on 31”, 2213, 615 gr. Eastman, Camo Hunter, Arrows.

      You da man! The real Mccoy of archery by the sounds it.
      Your elitist, purist attitude is exactly whats ruining hunting. Sitting patiently for hours on end is just as much "real" hunting as spot and stalk or anything else. And calling animals in is a skill just like stalking. Go out and try and call in a mature elk or moose and let me know how easy it is to kill them!!!

    • @jamescooper2618
      @jamescooper2618 9 лет назад +7

      Johnn Sinky Elk meat is some of the best meat in the world. No hunter would leave it behind unless faced with a bear or some other life threatening situation. The scumbags that do leave it are called poachers, not hunters. The difference is, they do it illegally. They don't buy licenses or follow bag limits, or any other game laws.
