Like I actually cared about Wayne and Gale in the first game, but the Desert Pirates in the second are actually funny. Capcom can really pull it off, they just usually trip over their own feet first.

The Snow Pirates in the beginning were such idiots. They could've just slung lead from the top of that plateau they were on and never had to worry about getting shot. Maybe they just wanted to show off their harmonizers.
They're not sandraiders. They're vagabondos. the sandraiders are different than vagabondos cuz they are territorial in ep 3 when the waysider chopper gets shot down by the sandraiders and killed the waysiders by using their sniper rifles. Idk man. But all of the names are shown to the character customization

No matter all the current games, I think LP 1 and 2 will forever remain my two most favorite video games of all time, above every single video game that has ever come out. Wish for a remaster honestly but that’ll never see the light of day. Glad they’re backward compatible though. My parents bought me part 1 since they thought Halo 3 was “too violent” for me at the time and it would be the best decision they made for me while gaming. When I heard about part 2 I never stopped grinding it up until I got an Xbox One. The rest is history.
Capcom pulled it off steam in November 2021 and were looking into taking out GFWL and it's been 8 months and still nothing this game needs too come back because compared to LP1 it's massive in scope

Because Capcom in that gen was confused and had no idea who their audience is. But now they know and if Kenji Oguro had the chance to reboot Lost Planet it won't be anything like LP2, he would just make a better LP1. Transition to HD was hard for Japan. That's when they outsourced to Western developers like what happened to LP3. Monster Hunter is now a thing on home console again so they don't need to aim for different audiences and try to sell it.
One of the things that pissed me off the most about this game (this entire series in fact) is that it's always been very clear that they spent at least half the money they should have reserved for competent writers on more gameplay. It's hard to feel invested in the characters (again, of this entire series) if their motivations either laughable or barely explained at best. In this game in particular, i felt like i was starting every group arc from a very bad _in media res_. That being said, i love this series (and this one in particular) and wish they would bring it back (albeit with more competent storytelling). I need to fight Cat G's on my PS4.

I think it was either NEVEC or the EX-NEVEC Leader. In the prologue, the surviving EX-NEVEC dude might have been the leader before he was leader. It would explain the part where the Snow Pirate said that there was, "nothing to gain from wiping out Snow Pirates. Unless they had a grudge." The EX-NEVEC Leader probably held a grudge against the Snow Pirates for killing his men in the prologue, so he made a trap to try and kill all of them.
I'm feeling this game but I'm sorry to say I'm not feeling the gear the soldiers are wearing they need to work on that I see where the game budget got cut lol.
Better than the first, but still really confusing. And what's with the ending? So the ocean is filled with warm alien blood and everyone is happy? Look, if you stand in a body of water, and the entire area starts to glow, I hope I wouldn't have to tell you to not stand in it.. Also the speech about the planet's heartiness is pretty backwards, considering they Destroyed earth, and have been killing everything on this new planet. :/
Ik I'm late but what the ending meant was that every faction put aside their grudges to work together to stop the over g akrid from destroying the planet. Many of these factions all fought each other for that thermal energy so they can stay alive since thermal energy wasn't a abundance for everyone that's why they all fought each other by raiding outposts,bases,villages and towns but since the over g is destroyed and there's plenty of thermal energy to go around now they wouldn't have to worry about being low or going empty but like the general said most of the people will be friends or allies while there will be others who will go back to their old ways of fighting each other for land claims or tech and land
