    How in the name of God is your channel not bigger!!! I'm just after watching your video on the Sigma 105 1.4, and now this one. My daughter thinks you are my long-lost brother. She wanted me to get the 105 ages ago but I keep saying we don't need it and you make my point 100%. Now to this video, again you keep stating my point. If a good company which godox are, why launch an item that doesn't improve the last. I'm heading for 55 in March and I don't watch RUclips because I'm shooting with over 30 years. I love shooting and I'm kinda jealous of the younger generation at what they have available to them today. I shoot live music and my motto is keep things as simple as possible. I'll have a look through your other videos, please keep your videos like this. The knowledge you have and the way you present is great! Best Wishes for the New Year and best of luck with your business

      Haha, my guy! You genuinely made my day when I saw your comment. My apologies if I dropped a few too many f bombs in my earlier videos. Ive toned that down a bit lol I'm so glad our videos resonated with you. I completely agree how spoiled new photographers nowadays are. They don't understand the pain that is pocket wizards haha! And keeping it simple will always make your life easier. I think as you grow as a photographer you realize you dont need to be so technical to be able to capture the moments and emotions. I just posted a video where I talk about that (how weddings are not a photoshoot). Thank you again for watching and I wish you all the success in the coming years!

    The adjustment and different output is a featue of the AD200. I believe it's the capacitors which hold the previously specified charge, which needs to be released before it can calculate the capacitor charge for the new power level

    Thanks for the new video. It is muscle memory. I can almost use it blindfolded. I hate to learn a new device when it does not appear to be better. I believe it is the strobe that causes an inaccurate amount of light when turning it up or down (it saves the energy from the previous setting). You have to dump "test fire" the strobe to clear the power after changing the power (if my understanding is correct). Thanks again for the video 👍

    • @TNKPhoto
      @TNKPhoto  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for watching John! Yeah and I get the concept of learning something new if it’s better but I just couldn’t get behind it. And I gave it a fair shot. I shot several weddings and events before I posted the video. But I wanted to double down on this one and clear up some questions I got on the previous one too. And I think you may be right. It’s odd how I only does it sometimes though. At this point I’ve been shooting for so long I know what a full power pop sounds like vs a low power one 😂

    Great Video! I have a nano trigger and also the Xpro 2. There's a lot of stuff I like about the Xpro2 but the nano is growing on me. especially since I mostly use one light for location shoots. If I were using multiple lights, I would prob go xpro2 for sure!

    I am currently using an x2T trigger. I like it but using it is a little irksome. The tiny screen you can’t see to well when the camera is set low on a tripod. So I was thinking of upgrading. Then I saw the X3. Lots were raving about it but I am skeptical of such a device operating solely with a touchscreen. Which means navigating menus and extra steps. I like you say, am old school. I like well placed dedicated buttons. Wick and simple. So I was leaning to the XPro. Now I feel better about that Decision. Thank You.

      Oh damn you got the new one? Honestly I couldn't get into it. The older one (Xpro) I've never had issues with, so the new one didn't bring any solutions to any problems I wasn't having. It was a less intuitive design in my opinion. But hey, if its working for you

    100% agree. X-pro is my fav trigger but in general Godox UIs are a bit non-intuitive IMO. It took me forever to get my x2t to fire and even when I did I hated trying to run two lights with it. The nano is cool but I’m a hard no on touch screens for the same reason I hate them in cars-they force you to take your eyes off the road/subject. All I want for xpro is an accurate battery readout for rechargeable Nimh batteries - like you mentioned, im always “empty” and even though it goes and goes I get paranoid!

    good video, lots of good points.
    i own 3 triggers, xpro, xpro2, x2t.
    i like all 3 just fine but, one thing i would like is the wheel on the x2t is my favorite wheel. add that to one of the xpro's and it would be perfect!
    the little mini came out and i was not even interested.

      Thank you so much William. How do you like the Xpro vs the Xpro II? That little wheel was nice, it’s probably easier to adjust. Yeah I wasn’t jumping for joy on the newest one but I bought it just so I can say “ok I’ve tried it and this is what’s good and what’s bad about it”. It felt annoying to use, like taking steps back from usability for the sake of it being smaller

    Interesting problem you've got with the Ad200. I have a somewhat similar problem with my ad200 and never could figure out what it is. But, if hitting test give me a reset, that's one thing good to know.

    • @TNKPhoto

      Yeah it's weird but its a quick workaround. Since this video I picked up an AD200 Pro ii since the battery was going out, I figured I might as well get a new unit with a new battery. Overall though, I'd say an AD200 classic is better cause the head was changed slightly on the new one and any modifiers you have that use the head no longer work (really silly thing for them to do)

    Honestly, it’s a thing I see when discussing Chinese companies. Criticize a ProPhoto flash, or a Sigma lens and no one cares. Criticize a Chinese company and people don’t just say that you’re wrong, but the insult you as a person.
    So many Chinese brands are killing it! But if you bring up when they aren’t, you get attacked.
    As another (much smaller) OC photographer, your content has been super helpful. Thank you!

    • @TNKPhoto
      @TNKPhoto  4 месяца назад +1

      I appreciate you watching my dude! And yeah, no company is perfect. That’s why I don’t necessarily like to take sponsorships unless they allow me to say what I want to say and speak freely. There’s actually a flash company that I’m speaking with, and I told them I didn’t want to release a video Because there was one major con about the unit that they sent me. They told me they’re releasing a new one with the fixes, which was a great response and I told them I’d be happy to review the new one and give the comparison then. But generally speaking, for what you’re paying for, these Chinese companies kill it. I’ve actually had a speedlight from Godox, the TT 600 since 2017. I just posted a video about it how it’s the best flash for under $100. Nothing is perfect but find what works for you and get out there and make a living using it 🙌

      Coming from software engineer's point of view, I also would not want to join a company to work with old tech (e.g. the black and white software). It's just not great for the career and skill. Companies sometimes make these kind of choices due to reasons like these that dont meet the eyes of the end consumer.

    Gosh, I've commented on every channel that reviewed that piece of garbage.
    Everyone said I'm wrong and it's really good and I'm standing in the way of progress, this is why I get so upset with influencers...sigh...
    So I'm a portrait, wedding and event photographer, I'm also in the studio on most days. So Im always using flash.
    1. Firstly why do I need to sync it wirelessly, even if I use a pocketwizard with my old alienbees once I have the same channel and group I'm good to go, it that's how it sync, why is this wireless syncing so different and special?
    2. If I'm constantly changing my flash settings, I can't be constantly looking to make sure I put my finger on the correct spot on the touch screen. Just like those same people who criticize your findings use also their muscle memory so they don't have to place their finger correctly onto the shutter button or change the aperture when it needs to change.
    3. To much to get to simple controls when you're in a fast paced environment.
    The nano/x3 whatever it's called is a gimmick that's not practical for most situations.
    I would probably use it if I was doing product photography or real estate .
