I was hoping to come here and find the whole video. A 1080p quality version of Jared's words followed by their 2010 VMAs performance. Instead, they cut it off before Jared was finished speaking.

Yeah, you're right. I already watched the full tribute for him a few hours ago on TV. Jared Leto's emotional speech about Chester and his music legacy as a frontman of Linkin Park was very inspiring. I had suicidal thoughts until I heard Chester is dead, I was thinking the true meaning of life and learnt to have positive thought.
Funny how MTV cut off the video right before Jared had to ask the audience a SECOND time to stand up to honor Chester. Disgusting.
I felt MTV only did this tribute to talk about Suicide prevention (victimhood complex) than the influence Chester and Linkin Park had on MTV.
Nicholas Richardson I can't believe he had to ask them twice. The audience was disrespectful on it's own, but to add the fact that MTV had the nerve to cut to commercial halfway through a tribute, is just absolutely vile. His family and friends were likely watching that, expecting something amazing, and heartfelt for him, but instead got a show that blatantly disrespected the man they, and so many people loved. This is why I don't watch MTV award shows.

I don't normally post comments on RUclips but this is one of those times when I feel like I have to. Linkin Park played a huge role in helping me get through some of the darkest times of my life, and I'm sure a lot of other people can relate and were deeply saddened when Chester passed away. I think it's extremely disrespectful that MTV cut this tribute short. Chester didn't deserve this, his family didn't deserve this, his friends didn't deserve this, Linkin Park didn't deserve this, and neither did their fans.
I feel the same way about him and Chris Cornell. Chris similarly got Chester thru stuff. Two great iconic talents that deserved MTV and its audience to show MUCH more respect than it ultimately did.
I just hope that MTV learns from their mistake, and doesn't do this again to others.

One of my favorite concerts ever was Linkin Park and 30 Seconds to Mars. That night changed my life! Linkin Park and Chester have influenced so many.
Same for me, I went to a Blink-182 and Linkin Park (Blinkin Park) concert two years ago and it blew my mind. that concert changed my life.
I saw them also; 3 years ago in NJ! Awesome show! I have most of it recorded. AFI was great too!

**Important** that saying you're not alone will not make anyone feel any less alone, it is not in those that are alone that need to look out for help. The damage is in those around that aren't familiar with how to approach people in this state. Nobody knows how to make others problems go away, you don't have to try and fix them, but it is in company that they loose so much weight.

It hurts so much to think about Chester’s passing. He helped me a lot, so has Jared, and are both continuing to do so. I’m 14 and Chester will be in my heart forever, major respect to him and Rest In Peace. I really wish I had the chance to meet him. Leto's words were thoughtful and beautiful, and I'm glad he mentioned Chris. Both are huge losses to the music industry. I can't believe Soundgarden, a band that had a HUGE impact on MTV, was not mentioned by name once.

This so called tribute was thrown in there last minute. The lives of both Chester and Chris mattered so little. That cut off was seriously disrespectful and the fact that the crowd had to be told a second time to stand up was sad to me. Chester was an icon that wasn't like other artists. Very disrespectful to cut short the tribute for Chester and Chris. These are people who were a huge part of the music community, who have millions of fans that respect the impact they made. Mental Illness is a very real thing and these 2 fought hard to live as long as they could battling the demons they had inside and while they fought they did a lot of good in their lives and you should have had more respect for that and more class then to cut short a tribute to people that brought light into this world. Disappointed in MTV and all those at the VMAs that made Jared have to ask them twice to stand up and join as we remember two legends.
