I was an instructor at the Army mountain warfare school at Black Rapids Alaska, right outside Denali National park. Had a lot of SF teams, and virtually every other high speed unit come through our school house over the years. I taught the Basic Military Mountaineering Course and the Assault Military Climbers Course. It was my “light duty” while I recovered from being wounded in action in Iraq, that turned into 3 years of awesomeness. I was stationed in Alaska in the 3/509th Parachute Infantry Regiment and had already been to most of the schools up there, so I jumped at the chance to become cadre. I loved Alaska and miss it a lot. If you’re an outdoorsman, I can’t recommend Alaska enough. Ft. Richardson(JBER) not Wainwright. JBER has a temperate climate on the southern coast of Alaska, where the ocean kind of regulates the cold and you’re enclosed in a mountainous bowl. Wainwright is a frozen hell that’s just south of the arctic circle in a barren tundra lol. Yeah, the cold sucks sometimes even in Anchorage, but you acclimate to it for the most part. I really loved my job and a lot of days I couldn’t believe I was getting paid to do what I was doing. One of those hidden gems in the Army. If you have the opportunity to volunteer for cadre there, take it.
Ice Breaking drill as we call it in Canada is one hell of an experience, we do it with both skies or snowshoes+ our rucksack, to simulate the weight and actual scenario of breaking and iced river/lake and having to get out. It totally gives you like a punch in the lungs, you don't expect it. Kudos to these guys for remaining so calm.
@@TypeRyRy You say that but people are capable of a lot more than they realize. That's one of the great things about the military it brings out a side of people they didn't know they had until they were trained to use it.
God bless these military people and all of our military. We are so blessed. They go through Training most could never do. All for service to our country and our allies.
Im curious about the delicate balance between civil affairs and security. Of course you must maintain some level of outreach to the public for various reasons but once you release certain areas those have now been given open sourced availability and access is given to our adversaries. How do you decide what and what not to release? If i were a soldier I would be watching all the material available on my opponents training, capabilites and resources.
Hopefully they will. The SF teams will do free fall parachuting, combat diving, mountain and jungle combat, urban close quarters fighting, and other things. I'm sure they can train with ROK forces and teach such things.
@Knight-Sgt. Reyes Yeah I know I wasn’t saying that I was saying there’s probably no special operations in the US military and Ukraine as of now that was a whole two months ago I’m sure they got motherfuckers in there now but some black ops type shit like it don’t exist
This water training should be great experience while fighting in the arctic with shorts and t-shirt on. Why are they not in full kit? We had to do it kitted.
my respect for these soldiers who are preparing to defend our country, God bless them
Kudos to the Green Beenies...as a USAF CCT, they were the ultimate of professionalism!
Respect to you CCTs- you guys are bad ass too

I was Air Force, but I love Green Berets. They have been able to maintain their unmistakable mystique. NEVER CHANGE!
I admire all service Green Berets thank you for your service
But airforce PJs are the superlative badasses, lol
I was Navy, and wanted to learn more about Green Berets. I know about the SEALS, but not the Army much.
I'll Always Love you Hayden Panettiere

Dealt with the SEALS during basic training in the Navy . Dudes were tough . How I wish that I wasn't such a wimp as a kid.

I like how the intro was so good but then it went straight to a person jumping in water xD
It is similar to the training of special forces in Korea. It will be hard in cold weather. Thanks for uploading a nice video.

Not being funny but an enemy force would not only smell that fire from miles away they would be able to see the smoke too.
Wow, you’re much better than the green berets
How come none of the soldiers requested to swear before exiting the water- surely someone would have said, “f**k, that’s cold!
