The 'Over-Nite Sensation 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition' is nearing its November 17th debut. The Super Deluxe Edition box is rounding out with a 48-page booklet and unseen photos from the album cover shoot by Sam Emerson, along with liner notes and new essays by noted audiophile journalist Mark Smotroff and Joe Travers.

Me too. As much as I liked the kinda jazz direction of "The Grand Wazoo," "Over-nite Sensation" was almost a pop album in comparison. The music was more accessible, but the lyrics were wild and brilliant. It spent weeks dominating the house's turntable since all my roomies were fans. I would use this album to gain Zappa converts in the 1970s, and it actually worked sometimes.

I could listen to Frank play all night long. Wish he’d recorded some acoustic guitar. Perhaps he had? If so, where does it live? As many times as i saw him play live, I never remember ever seeing an acoustic. It must have been a treat, whoever was present when Frank picked up an acoustic.
