Thanks brother!
*"You've got nobody to please but yourself."* -Rat Rod Bob
Awesome words, never more true than today!
Preach!
Really neat wiring job Bob. JYD is looking meaner every step of the way. I'm digging the paint job. Looking forward to seeing the finishing touches on paint. Enjoyed watching ✌️
Ole JYD be howling at the moon real soon.
Love old timer I like visiting him I love old school engine builder and his work
@@RatRodBobBuilds qeqzza
That is a super idea Bob
I supposed to be making groceries Bob, but I had to check out your loom. I like that clean and organized look too. 👍
Ok ... now get back to makin them groceries. LOL
I think you hit the sweet spot 15 min video with a 20 second commercial break. Give a holler at the red.
Man! Attention to detail is what it's all about. Tidy wiring sets it apart from the "also-ran" builds.
Takes longer but the results are what matters. It's a work of art!
I love Big Block Chevies!
Looking great, I know that trick with zip ties you did a fantastic job on that professor Bob
Nice. Very neat on low money... 👍 👍
A very good video, man the truck is looking sweet.
That looks good, and keeps the wires off the headers to boot.
Looking great Bob its all in the details Bob never stop building rods
Bob, you could consider buying the wires with 135 degree ends. It might save a little time. just saying. Keep up the good work!
I suppose he never thought of that after building motors more than 45 years,,or he is retired with more time than money ?
Turned out really nice Bob. Motor is looking freaking awesome. ✌️😎👍
Super clean wiring install Bob, looks great!
All you need now BOB is white headers! RED. WHITE. &. BLUE. 👍🇺🇸 as always Bob, great video and cool tricks with the zip ties. Zip ties are under rated as they should be second to duct tape. 👍😂 That beast is going to look good in your 😉 rat rod. You have good taste Sir. Take care and until your next video, take care. 🍺🇺🇸🙏
Such a great idea with the wire standoffs to support the cables. I used some #4 solid copper I had laying around and it worked really well. A little heat to keep it from cracking apart and some spray paint when it's done, I'm really happy how it came out. Thanks for this video, it really helped me out.
The details separate the men from the boys. Your approach is the same as mine. Good work and done without expense. I usually put the boot on first before crimping the end on…just me. Great video, Bob.
Nice work.. Thanks for sharing. No need to apologize for not racing thru your builds. The time to race a build is when it's finished to your satisfaction and quality. Best if Health and long life to you and yours.👍
wow you never cease to amaze me job well done thank you for sharin your talents.
I like that idea, might just modify it a bit and steal it:) I have found a good lubricant for the spark plug wires while installing the boots is dielectric grease. Kills two birds with one stone.
Very trick using this idea ! Much better mounting than one can even buy - I have some artist wire (aluminum armature wire) that I will use . Thanks a mint for this tip !!!
Gitter dun!
Sitting here thinking I should pull my new motor back out and paint it the color of my truck. Thanks Bob.
Details are what makes it your Rat Rod Bob.
Maybe but most vehicles have all those things hooked to the front of the engine and wires and hoses running everywhere to make the creature comforts work. Paint ain't gonna help that much. That's why the JYD is barebones. I think the engine bay should look as good or better than the rest of the ride.
Your innovative ideas are what brings me back every time.
It's the little things like this that makes a project stand out. Takes lots of time though ... which I have plenty of I hope. LOL
Enough rat rods you’ve moved your self into custom cars to be a iconic builder I’m on stand by buddy
The last of a dying breed for me. My next two are gonna be Rat Rods with a capital R!
Loving the build Bob. Keep up the awesome work! Love the channel. Can't wait to see what you end up doing with the ole Henry-J. I miss that build. She was coming along quit well. Square Bodies gonna be badass. Looking forward to seeing her finished Bob. Keep On Motoring Brother!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The Henry J is the last think I'll do ... but it's still on the list.
I'm learning a lot here...thanks, Bob. You do great work. I usually use booties on there to protect from heat coming off the exhaust headers.
Such a simple job but it makes such a huge difference, that looks great!
Dang Bob, I absolutely love what you’re doin with the Junkyard Dog, I’ve always loved these squares, but this thing is goin to another level! Can’t wait to hear that fire breathin Big Block Bowtie!
Bob you are doing it old-school it looks great 👍 👌 great job bob.
Rat Rod Bob Halloween Tribute Truck, looks amazing.
Bob ...that's a work of art right there brother !!!! Love it ....cheap and efficient
Them pasta noodles are laid out nice and clean. Thats still on my to do list when I get the budget for wires. For now mine just droop all over the place lol. Thanks for showing your skills once again.
Rat Rod Bob Builds does respond to his emails quickly, good man.
I do! When you get my age, for me, helping others is what life is all about.
The wire loom setup looks great Bob. Inventive and effective + you did it yourself. Always gives me more pleasure when I do it myself and it still looks good. It's gotta look good or it's got to be redone some other way. I am NOT OCD - I am CDO (alphabetical order) I'm going to try this mod myself.
Great job . Love the advice on bending the plug end of the wire. Never thought of that. Thanks
Nice job Bob, your right about the details, they make an OK job into very clean motor.
Absolutely love your attention to detail on every build you have shared with us. It may be a little time consuming, but as the old saying goes, you can't rush perfection. The fine details can make or break any thing in life. Especially when it comes to hot rodding. Can't wait for the next episode. #RRBNation #RRBStudent
Very Clean looking Motor Bob Very NICEEEE
Hi Bob,another excellent class at the ratrology school, saving money and lookin cool, take care cya next time
At work we use isopropyl alcohol for lubricating and cleaning electronic parts and terminals. It doesn't leave any residue or cause corrosion, it isn't corrosive, and it works for removing flux from soldered joints as well. Oh, it also removes Sharpie ink. We use the high-purity stuff at work, but at home I use the 91% from the store. I like those terminal crimpers, too, they ensure a good solid crimp. Nice setup!
It’s funny how they always give you black ends for the distributor and not red ones to match the plug ends🛠🇺🇸🛠🤔
I'd rather black on both ends ... and may still change em out.
Pretty clever Bob. God is in the details. Good stuff. I've come to enjoy silicone spray for rubber parts.
I've been meaning to get some of that spray but I ain't got it yet .. ain't never used it. So I have a question ... can you pull the boots back off later when you use the silicone spray?
Yeah it looks dang nice I like the way I never thought about flattening out that aluminum like that and you're on the hole in it that's pretty dang cool
Hey Bawb, Lookin' better and better!!!! Gettin' closer and closer!!!! Without all of the fine detail work, how would we know you dun it????
Looks great Bob! As usual you're spot on with the detail. Keep em coming!
Your one cool guy bob.thanks for taking us along.
Nice job!!! I'm cleaning the dog's breakfast of an engine bay on my '82 k5 and I really like how you loomed the plug wires!!! I did mine similar to yours but didn't do the standoffs from the valve covers....lol...I'm doing it now!!! Next is the rest of the electrical butchery under the hood of er!!! That's gonna be un-fun but should be alot nicer when it's finished.
This is turning out great! Looks sleek and clean brotherman!🤘🏻👊🏻🤘🏻✌️

IF I KNEW HALF OF WHAT YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN, I WOULD BE IN GOOD SHAPE..... You are a very important part of a very small group brother.... The knowledge you continue to put out is priceless..... Please keep em' comin no matter how small it might seem to be.(Topic wise)
It's the little details that make the biggest impact. The things that folks look at when at the car show and say ... hey Chad ... come look at this!
Top job Bob, neat and tidy

Another great video. The wiring looks really neat and tidy. Great tips. Liking the rest of the painted body. Look forward to seeing the rest of the body get finished. Be safe and stay well.
Thanks Brian. I've been practicing behind the scenes on getting that black rubbed on just right, or maybe I should say rubbed off. You'll probably notice in at least one future video that I redone some of my previous work. Practice makes perfect, or, live and learn.
I likes it Bob ...Fred likes it....great idea...and it looks great...
looks good , im getting excited to see it all together ,, stay safe my friend
Really neat wiring job
Good stuff... my 454 has 90° wires and they touch headers... so I bought straights and they were bad. So I put the 90° back on and unhappy with them... now I will be doing your trick and getting my wires off headers
Man Bob you so old school you still carry a beeper in your overall pocket!!
Ha haa ... I did carry a beeper back in the day when they were cool. That's my cordless mic transmitter you see there because now they're cool to make the audio cool.
Looks great bob.
Nice work Mr.Bob
Excellent job, thanks for showing & sharing it with us.
Cheers😊
No problem 👍
RRBob. Here's a zip tie tip. I worked for the phone company for 47 years and used zip ties for about 40. If you don't have the official tightening/cutoff tool, you just use wire cutters. The problem with that is there remains a very sharp end. I have several scars on my arms to prove that. Anyway, you can melt the end with a lighter or, if in a tighter spot, a soldering iron. Hope this helps.
Good tip Joe ... I've lost some blood myself due to zip tie cutoffs. Never thought of melting that cut.
Looking good Bob, You almost got it. Just ain't got there yet.
Great work and video 👍🏻as always!!!!
Junk Yard Dawg is looking good Bawb
Thx Bob genius idea!
Love everything you Bob.
I’m diggin the blue Bob 👍🍺🍺
