    HUGE NEWS! Boeing Starliner In SERIOUS Stuck While SpaceX Starship #5 Surging...Weekly #137
    What goes up must come down!
    That's the mantra for most space missions, but it seems Starliner is breaking the mold. Yes, the return date for this spacecraft continues to be delayed.
    Last month, many were frustrated and disappointed as the launch of Starliner CFT-1 faced continuous delays. Five delays, including three due to helium leaks, are unacceptable for a crewed spacecraft. Despite these issues, NASA and Boeing pushed forward with the mission, and now they're facing the consequences.
    HUGE NEWS! Boeing Starliner In SERIOUS Stuck While SpaceX Starship #5 Surging...Weekly #137
    In the previous episode, I asked if Starliner could return on June 22. Most of you were correct in saying it couldn't. According to NASA's recent update, Starliner's return schedule has been changed. The notice states: “Teams from NASA and Boeing are now targeting no earlier than 10:10 p.m. EDT Tuesday, June 25, for the undocking of the Starliner spacecraft from the International Space Station.”
    HUGE NEWS! Boeing Starliner In SERIOUS Stuck While SpaceX Starship #5 Surging...Weekly #137
    Thus, the schedule has been delayed an additional three days compared to the previous plan. NASA explained, "mission teams supporting NASA's Boeing Crew Flight Test continue to review Starliner's data from the completed test objectives." Steve Stich, manager of NASA's Commercial Crew Program, added, "We want to give our teams a little bit more time to look at the data, do some analysis, and make sure we're really ready to come home." Mark Nappi, Vice President of Boeing’s Commercial Crew Program, clarified, “We fully intend to eliminate these common nuisances [the helium leak and thruster issues] for the flight [Starliner-1].”
    Once again, we see them struggling with the helium leak problem and propulsion issues.

    The stress of waiting creates subconscious fears of dangerous consequences relying on a star liner compared to that of SpaceX!

    Nappi needs to learn the difference between a "nuisance" and a "serious problem". "My spacesuit is a little tight" is a nuisance. "Five thrusters are malfunctioning due to helium leaks" is a serious problem.

      @colonbina1  29 дней назад +2

      Yeah

      @slartybarfastb3648 27 дней назад +1

      Every day that passes means less helium remaining. The leaks have not stopped. Each delay means their safety margin is reduced. Suppose new leaks appear after they depart the station or more thrusters go offline. It isn't only 5 out of 28 thrusters. Each thruster is oriented to provide a specific directional impulse. X, Y, or Z axis. If 3 failed thrusters control the x-axis, only 6 would remain or 30% reduction in x-axis control. By losing that amount, Y and Z axis would also be reduced because if they operate at 80-90% compared to 60% on the other axis, there will be a mismatch. Thus Y and Z can only operate at the level of the failing axis. So, a 30% reduction of one thruster axis requires a 30% reduction of all axis.

    • @dakrontu
      @dakrontu 26 дней назад +1

      @Wolf-hd9ke I agree. Neil Armstrong as I recall was one of two Gemini astronauts who nearly died when a thruster failed ON, putting the craft into a spin so fast that they nearly blacked out. Do we want to see that happen again? Thrusters can fail ON, OFF, or MAYBE. None are good. And they are critical to obtaining and maintaining orientation during re-entry. Would you drive your car if the steering had a mind of its own?
      How do they even measure remaining Helium? I suspect the situation will be 'resolved' by the Helium running out such that the craft has to be abandoned. Furthermore, that means it won't be going ANYWHERE, not even leaving the ISS, where it will be a dead duck, blocking an exit port permanently. It will need a tow truck to get rid of it. You can't just send out a couple of space walkers to give it a push. What goes around comes around. An orbit later it will hit the ISS.
      Stuck on the ISS like a frog growing out of a guy's head. Doctor asks how long ago this started. Frog says it began as a wart on his ass.

So when you hear mistakes like this it means there was an error in the script. Personally Im not against creators using such AI voices as long as g as the content is good, which this channel is ok. Its the fake science channels that use these voices that anger me, because they steal content from other creators and are effectively content farms. Great SpaceX is not a content farm as it doesn’t pump out 10 videos a day of various non-factual crap. The anger people have against AI is understandable but also stupid, because its not going anywhere. Roko’s basilisk man, you should let it know your ok with it, lol.

    Since, saving face is more important than saving lives… for NASA & Boeing…
    Best case scenario is waiting until the last minute and then fly home on Crew Dragon… and pretend no one notices anything 😂
    It is not possible to repair these leaks, in space… and no knowing what valves will malfunction when or next…😂

    "Ablative" means that something is designed to be sacrificial - in this case, that it would burn away at some rate, protecting what is underneath. It doesn't make sense to me that an "ablative" heat shield layer would be under the tiles, which are not ablative. If it was truly an ablative layer, it should be on top of the tiles. Being under the tiles, this new layer sounds a lot more like an additional insulating layer to reduce the temperature of the Starship skin. FYI - My background is not specifically in spacecraft design. I was a Strategic Weapons Officer on US Trident submarines and am a life-long sailor. Boats used to use an "ablative" hull coating under the waterline that would protect the hull from marine life damage by slowly wearing away - hence the term "ablative".

    The wise approach is to let the starliner return UNMANNED and rescue the astronauts with SpaceX . If the astronauts get injured or worse, the consequences are severe.
    Do not fly if the least doubt exists.

    If the situation were the other way around, NASA would have canceled the Starship mission months ago, but if they had landed them on the space station anyway, they would have sent Boeing on a rescue mission days ago. If NASA doesn't want to play with the astronauts' lives, it will eventually send a Starship to retrieve both astronauts.

    This was the first crewed mission of Starliner and will be the last crewed mission of Starliner. They will go with what works best for them Dragon. If they want to continue with Starliner it will have to be cargo missions and they will have to be flawless, in order to even consider sending back with a crew. Anything shot of this will be irresponsible.

    Boeing & NASA certainly are prioritizing their reputations AHEAD of astronaut safety and the ISS mission goals. Clearly, NASA and Boeing delayed the postponement announcement until Friday late (where bad news headlines go to die) so that the bad news of the delay would not overlap with the Boeing CEO's disastrous appearance before Congress. Though Boeing may no longer know how to build good spacecraft or commercial airliners, it certainly has a good PR department! Yay!!!

    Boeing is too large in different areas. Nowadays, companies need to be economically and engineering-efficient; being gigantic is not the solution. Boeing must separate the aerospace division and create a new company with its own budget if it wants to have success and a future.
