The mother said she may not love her dad but she love what she made…come on now, make that make sense. How can you love your child if you don’t love the person they came from?
It's soooo many hurt/bitter/ mentally lost young girls out here walking the earth💯 she choosing a profession that's flooded with competition like a nail n hair tech instead of finishing up her criminal justice degree! I guess anything is better than what she has now, which is NOTHING💯

An absent parent can spew a life time of trauma. 1st by not being present, next by telling the child lies about the active parent. They are never there to see the results of the trauma caused.
Just because the daughter said it don't make her no more truthful than the mother but JM berating the mother as a lier..he never disappoints so predictable.
These moms do what they can to provide and protect these kids. They turn into ungrateful adults and want to play victim. Judge Mathis was a little bit of an enabler on this case. Call your mom poor, yet you have no job, a baby and a man that doesn't show up. If your biological dad wanted to be in your life he would have. He is a coward. I pray she gets the help she needs because as a Black woman we rarely have the luxury of being victims, we are warriors!
Sometimes we are victims, though. This trope that Black women have to be "warriors" all the time is part of the reason so many sisters are depressed out here. I'm not saying the daughter has made all the right decisions in life, because she clearly needs to get herself together and do better, but teenagers say and do dumb things--that doesn't make them any less victims of parents' poor decisions.
Of course we are victims often, but when you heal, you become a survivor! You have to want that. Yes, we deserve to take our capes off, and the sooner you let go of the pain,, you can do so.I just don't think she should have treated her mom so badly for doing her best. It's the same as when I hear so many blaming their moms for absent dads. Most women don't chose that.
@Monique Shuntae I totally get what you're saying about wanting to heal. And I certainly think that absent fathers are solely responsible for their decisions to be absent. But I'd also wager that a woman who is having unprotected sex with a married man is aware that she is making a choice that will likely harm any potential offspring of that union, whether it's in regard to child support or physical presence. The mother here seems like she has been supportive of her daughter and I really respect and appreciate that. I definitely don't think she's one of those demon mothers. I just wish more people would give credit to the fact that you don't just reach the age of adulthood and suddenly have no negative feelings toward the things that hurt you when you were a minor. Most Black folks don't talk about the importance of therapy and mental health wellness, so I can't be mad at her for not knowing how to stop feeling victimized and be a "warrior". She never even finished high school. She couldn't really vocalize a general plan for how she was going to get from point A to B in her life, so I suspect that she doesn't even think about wanting to heal; she just lives in the moment [and then makes bad decisions].
The daughter is so ungrateful. She needs to take accountability for her own actions, I hope she takes advantage of the free school and get her life together for her and her kid.
The daughter is playing the entitled victim card and her mother must really love her to continue to enable this foolery. By the daughter moving out to live with a girlfriend, make a baby with a dead beat, not complete school, and not have a job means she has a proven track record of just not being responsible.
Clinical depression is a beast. Left untreated it can get worse and negatively impact every area of one's life. Folks tend to minimize it at their own peril.
I saw a post on Facebook last year of someone asking men how could they disrespect the woman who brought them into the world and one man had said his mom mistreated him growing up because he looked like his dad
There is a difference between being depressed and suffering from depression. I think this girl wants to do what she wants to do when she wants to do it. I imagine that she definitely was traumatized but she is using that trauma imho.
....And the daughter is wondering why she's going thru Hard Times.... She feels entitled, and she's manipulative. She acts as if the Wolrd owes her something. But she Better remember she has a daughter now, With No Father. and None to step up, at least her step dad did when her real coward biological one didn't want anything to do with her at birth.
I believe the mom tried her best and loves her daughter.......the daughter is a beautiful young lady well spoken and a go getter but needs therapy to heal............
The mom didn't try her best. One of the most important decisions you can make for your child is who you create them with. The mother slept with a married man and brought forth a child. We give our black mothers every excuse, smh. The standars in our community are low.
This was annoying as hell. “Love is bigger than money” so you take advantage of your moms love and money and think you shouldn’t pay because you were brought into this world from an affair, girl bye. Truth. It's 3 girls including me. I'm the middle but haven't spoken to my mother for 3 years now. The eldest sister is the golden child. One min they joke, laugh, talk about other ppl, etc then the eldest sister called my younger sister (speaker phone) calling our mom every bad name in the book because the mother went talking behind my eldest sister back
@@JessicaSmith-yd2nm sad it should never be a golden one. Now I understand if a parent distance themselves from one that cause havoc
I think if a parent has 2+ children, each child is going to get a different version of that parent 🤷🏽♀️ 1 child watching the parent with the other child, I think it's human nature to get envious to a degree but ultimately once we mature and start having our own children, it's then that we understand 😉
The mother’s daughter is clearly ungrateful and using the excuse to be mad at her mom and the world bc her father wasn’t in her life. Look how the tables have turned. The daughter baby father isn’t in her child’s life, but got the grandmother babysitting.
An probably feel like she shouldn't pay her mom to keep her grandchild...If the mother wasn't in ur life she would have to pay someone else or bring her to school or work
I’m so happy for Judge Mathis addressing the mental health issues that plague our community because of trauma that most of us have experienced during our lives.
I wish the mom and daughter nothing but the best.
I feel sorry for the Mom. She’s still trying to make up to the daughter which the daughter is a Mom now & needs to get therapy & meds & stop making her Mom feel bad. Tomorrow’s not promised to no one 😢
Yall need to stop acting like children gotta forgive their parents just because theyre their parents.
You love your parents but sometimes they can be toxic to you.
@@Hi-nl2jg ikr I'm not going
The mother caused her trauma, how do you feel to know the father you know and sees as your father is not because your mother lied to you. The mother that is supposed to protect you
The mother said she may not love her dad but she love what she made…come on now, make that make sense. How can you love your child if you don’t love the person they came from?
Judge Mathis ALWAYS HAS ME ROLLIN WHEN HE STARTS TELLING THEM THEY SMOKE CRACK🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I pray for this mother and daughter, to grant them peace and continued love.
Not the "entanglement" being the direct result of her daughter's existence and then blaming the daughter for her own dysfunction
It's soooo many hurt/bitter/ mentally lost young girls out here walking the earth💯 she choosing a profession that's flooded with competition like a nail n hair tech instead of finishing up her criminal justice degree! I guess anything is better than what she has now, which is NOTHING💯
I LIKE HOW THAT ENDED, GOD BLESS YOU BOTH.
I hope she does well in cosmetology school! I'm glad they were able to be friendly at the end--hope their relationship gets/stays healthy.
everybody’s face when she said entanglement 😂
😳😹😹😹🤦🏾♀️
She's gonna show up to class all of 1 week...😂😅
Paying her mom would’ve been the right thing to do.
I understand the mother bc the love you have for your child is the most beautiful/scariest thing in the world. But depression is real and I am sure the young girl feels like she is alone in the world ..
Alone in the world how?
Family members can be so messy
The mom and married man were messier.
@@jennevamadison3803 but the family members had no right to telling her

Mom made a mistake and is owning up to it. Daughter is ungrateful clearly mom is trying her best to compensate her.
Beautiful young lady . God bless her.
"I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU!" 😂😂😂😂
Ma'am, just be quiet!
I got fortunate to land my current job with nothing other than a high school diploma. I don't make a ton of money but it's well above minimum wage.
Same here. Super blessed. I did some college but didn’t graduate. I have a job making over 6 figures. Sometimes a basic understanding of something can open great doors
yes I never understood why jm always says you can’t get a good job with just a diploma that’s just not true i know people with degrees that are struggling it just depends on the situation
God Bless You Judge Mathis you are such a blessing. You are such a great judge. You are such a great judge.
How she get pregnant but has a “girl” friend?! Make it make sense
The partner identifies as a female, at least that's what I heard.
Could be bi-sexual
Some people are bisexual.
Women have girlfriends as friends, no sex.
she ment her Best Friend
Her daughter is beautiful
It’s sad seeing parents sue their kids. My mom would never! Like that’s your child, and if you feel like they’re taking advantage of you and using you for your money, then stop helping them and teach them tough love. Idk I wouldn’t sue my child.
You got it all wrong.. it's called accountability! At some point she needs to be responsible!
@@kandylaland I don’t have nothing all wrong because I wouldn’t sue my kids. My mom raised me w/ respect, responsibility and she spoiled me because I earned it. I’m grown and she always tells me if I need her let her know however I don’t use my mother nor ask her for money even the times I was struggling for a time period because she did her part already by raising me which is why I said in my comment stop helping your kid if you notice a pattern in them using you or not learning responsibility. However I still wouldn’t sue my kid, I just wouldn’t help them financially anymore.
This was a good episode
He just got done encouraging her and then here comes here mother with a damn story about Motel 6 that has nothing to do with nothing.
Yesss thank you Judge !! Hopefully she takes advantage of it and finish ! That’s exciting 🙌🏽
The mess we make when we lie and deceive.
Very well said Queen. ♥️
Exactly 😅
Exactly!!
She is doing well, taking care of her daughter, own apartment and working.
Clinical depression is a beast. Left untreated it can get worse and negatively impact every area of one's life. Folks tend to minimize it at their own peril.
Frfr
I wish the best for this young lady!
I had a friend that hates her son cause he looks like the dad. The dad cheated on her and had another family. Lord bless them!
I saw a post on Facebook last year of someone asking men how could they disrespect the woman who brought them into the world and one man had said his mom mistreated him growing up because he looked like his dad
@@quentinjones6877 that’s awful 😢
Almost died wen mom said she wudnt baby sit lmaoooo
There is a difference between being depressed and suffering from depression. I think this girl wants to do what she wants to do when she wants to do it.
I imagine that she definitely was traumatized but she is using that trauma imho.
Yes JM be saying some real things but then he be dragging on to the point I be LOST 😂
🎉 We need an update JM! ❤
The daughter is gorgeous 🎉 hope she’s doing well regardless what she looks like or how she lives
There goes that word "entanglement" to take the place of the word "cheating" again.
🎉🎉🎉🎉 i hope to see her on the big screen doing celebrity nails
Wow, thus brought tears 😢😢😢and I'm at work . She really loves ❤️ her, and the daughter does too they just need some counseling
....And the daughter is wondering why she's going thru Hard Times....
Hmmm. The daughter acting like money’s not important - until she needs it…
I would never go on TV court with my mom. She's too much of a Dingbat.
This was annoying as hell. “Love is bigger than money” so you take advantage of your moms love and money and think you shouldn’t pay because you were brought into this world from an affair, girl bye. And the using depression as an excuse for everything is getting old and tired! She said it didn’t “stick” meaning she wasn’t interested anymore like lmao judge Mathis be falling for the bs all the time.
This girl is trying to make her mom feel guilty of her past all the while the dad don’t want nothing to do with her and she thinks the world of him. This girl is blaming everyone for her short comings , she gets in trouble and then she runs to her mom to help her . This girl needs to get herself together and stop all of this pity party mess
Would never sue my child for any amount...ever.
For real especially on tv !
The Defendant is using her past as an excuse to not be productive. She ain't that depressed. She put herself together real nice today. Girl, take your behind to cosmetology school and get licensed. She ain't depressed. Her attitude is 💩'y!
You're NOT getting it JM. Okay you been through something we all have. That's life. Don't wallow in it. That's why these kids are so LAZY! Don't make excuses for her. Her Mother wasn't on crack WTH is he talking about 🙄
I hope she goes Judge cause her attitude 😒........wooooooo
No parent is perfect and she clearly loved and cared for her daughter and tried to help her. The daughter was an ungrateful brat and a liar.
I hope the young lady finds her way in Life
Idk why but I instantly started crying when the girl started talking about Criminal Justice and depression.. same girl 😪
This is so common in our society its painful. The judge did the right thing. They have all the signs of a Brooklyn NY family.
Definitely not ONLY in Brooklyn

Everything happens for a reason. In this case, now the child gets to attend school for free
and you probably aren't disrespectful to your parents either and pay back your debts
I have a problem when people say I never said I would pay you back. When they know they should.
This young lady looking her mom in the eyes and lying in front of a judge has nothing to do with her father issues.
Was gonna jump the gun n say the mom is a bad person but you can tell she genuinely loves her & her child.
Guess you cant be mad at a judge for being nothing but judgmental
I wish them both well ❤
Great contract, Judge!!!
And she knows she owe her mom that money
@ 10:25 - I mean, WERE they poor? ..
I may be wrong for this, but I resent my mom a bit b/c we were lower middle class growing up … I just believe that parents should make money BEFORE they make kids so that their child’s childhood is reasonably comfortable
