    This man single handedly allowed me to be a good gm for my friends, he is basically the messia of RAW!

    Thanks for the fix. It’s weird, but I always feel relief when I see a new video available from this channel 😅

    I feel you added a bit of your own interpretation to the similar formulas section, rather than a strict reading of the rules.
    The GM Core uses the term "wildly different" when describing what items require separate formulas, stating Aeon Stones and Marvelous Miniatures as examples of items in the same category that are "wildly different". I couldn't in good faith call the upgraded ranks of a staff (or spellheart) "wildly different". Additionally, if a higher level item in the same category has a higher rarity, it also requires a separate formula.
    Of course a GM can decide that this is the case for their own game, but it isn't the default and probably shouldn't be presented as such.

      I agree with this point when reading the "Multiple Types" section on pg. 223 of the GM Core.

      @@kindred84 I am not complaining ? I just said i'd be curious to see how it could be erratad. 'cause the situation is funny, the complex crafting rules just got released and are essentially irrelevant now xD

    I'm confused about formulas for scrolls. Does each spell require a separate formula, each spell rank, or just a formula for "scrolls?"
    BTW, thank you. I always learn something from your vids.

      The original Core Rulebook specifically states that you only need a 1st level scroll formula to craft scrolls, but this was oddly removed from the Remaster. And the same is true for wands... in the Legacy Core Rules it specifically states that you can craft wands with a 1st level formula, but this was removed in the Remaster. My guess is they removed those statements because this is now covered under the blanket statement that you don't need multiple formulas if the difference between types is mostly item level. That said, as others have pointed out in the comments here, it's still a little subjective for the GM to decide what calls for its own formula or not.
      TL;DR - I believe one formula is all that's needed to craft spell scrolls (and the same is true for wands).

    This is great!
    With all the changes I’m still perplexed that for magical items you need magical crafting to make them but you don’t to fix them?
    Thoughts @Dave?

      That's my understanding as well... and I'm sure it's just for simplicity. But this is an area where I think GMs are well within their right to require magical crafting for repairs if they wish.

    so having trouble following this form the GM core section and this. the example in the GM core says cold iron item and uses different numbers. A weapon is an item, but i guess the GM core example is for non weapon items?

    Thanks for the great information!
    I was curious, if you were to allow Assurance (Crafting) for use with downtime activities, how would assurance work against a secret DC check for crafting? Would it be a blind gamble?

    • @JacksonOwex
      @JacksonOwex 4 месяца назад

      Crafting doesn't need to be a secret roll, they are IMMEDIATELY going to know whether the Failed, Critically Failed, Succeeded, or Critically Succeeded as soon as they make their check!

    • @derekkemper888
      @derekkemper888 4 месяца назад

      Thanks for replying. Unless i'm misunderstanding, assurance is a replacement for your roll, so you can either do one or the other. In the Part 1 video around the 6 minute mark it's stated that your crafting roll will be compared to a Secret DC made by the DM. I was just curious how Assurance would work while not knowing the DC, if it would just be a blind guess. I do agree that after you make the first crafting attempt you would have a decent general idea of the DC level based on tier of success/failure, but that could be an expensive test. Personally I think i would probably houserule for players with Assurance:Crafting that you either state the DC or tell them if Assurance attempts would fail while keeping the DC secret.

    Can you touch on crafting as a Tattoo Artist?

    • @kevinbarnard355
      @kevinbarnard355 6 месяцев назад

      I don't think there is anything different, other than the requirements. You have 2 feats (chains) that would qualify you to craft magical tattoos: Tattoo Artist or Magical Crafting and Specialty Crafting: Artistry. Other than that access, the crafting system is the same. Half the price upfront, having a formula for a common tattoo takes 1 day to craft, pay the other half of the cost, and any extra time spent working discounts the final cost.
