MadBum has to be #1. The dude was money that World Series. Pitched a complete game shutout in Game 5 and then 4 scoreless innings for the save in Game 7 on 2 days rest. Money
The 3 strikeouts in a row from Tyler Matzek was freaking clutch and one of the best relief appearances in recent memory. The 3rd strikeout to get Betts swinging was chef's kiss. That 2021 Braves world series run was magical. So many heroes that were made in that run that are beloved by Atlanta today.
Thank you for this Baseball archive! Good pitching will always beat good hitting. MLB has been working on changing that with more (offense), through all the rule changes; but the True Game will always begin on the Mound.
if i was adding from 1995 and before, at least give a mention for roger mcdowell and rick aguilera, who gave up 2 hits and no runs through six innings.
@@baseballsoffury642 two days rest on the road, game 7. At the point no road team had won a game 7 in the WS in over 50 years. Longest save in WS history. Him being number 2 is like saying McDonald’s makes fresher burgers and fries compared to in n out.
@@cdog2584 Again, this list is subjective. It was a close race though. Martinez’s appearance in the 1999 ALDS consisted of him not giving up a single hit and he came in an inning earlier than Bumgarner did. He killed the red hot Indians offense.
How is Randy Johnson in game 7 of '01 WS not on the list at all? He shut down the Yankees for 1⅔ innings and got the win after throwing 104 pitches the night before.
Glaring omission is Randy Johnson’s relief appearance in Game 7 of the ‘01 WS…
Or Nate Eovaldi in Game 3 in 2018.

For sure and the way the crowd got quiet when he walked out was legendary
Make that 5 Scoreless Innings to Save Game 7 on the road.
I clicked on this video to make sure Matzek's 2021 NLCS vs LAD was on here. Wasn't disappointed.
Bumgarner is #1. Fifteen-out scoreless save to win the World Series in game 7. Nothing comes close.

another great video! awesome top ten!
2006 is the first time a team with the worst record 83-78 has won NLCS then world series as Wainwright did in the video.
If you do a Part 2 Nathan Eovaldi’s 7 inning relief in the 2018 WS belongs there
There were so many I was thinking of that I might have to do a Part 2 eventually. Eovaldi would definitely be on there!

(Also sorry about the size of the screen. I was trying another editing software. Good thing RUclips has a zoom feature now!)
NO SHOT THIS IS A REAL VIDEO WITHOUT THE BIG UNIT IN 2001 ??
Ur including scherzer geting into and out of trouble but not chapman's 8 out save in game 5 of the 2016 world series ?
"The gate has opened in the Giants' bullpen and Madison Bumgarner makes his entrance"

What pitch was that at 5:15 ? I thought Rivera only ever threw cutters
Earlier in his career he threw other stuff
I’m ur biggest fan not baseball wise sorry Rachel this dude has won me over
How is Bumgarner 2? Martinez was trash in the playoffs, he always choked.
But his appearance in this video is the best. His overall performance isn’t what was covered.

He was hurt and threw a f'n 6 inning no hitter against the f'n 1999 Cleveland f'n Indians striking out TEN. That's f'n why!
