The batter's eye has been an issue since they opened the park. Griffey and Edgar complained about it then. They've done a number changes to it early on the first few off seasons, Just b/c they haven't done much lately to it, it doesn't mean that it's not still bothersome. Also, with their pitching staff now, they probably aren't too interested in working on it. Although, if they did, maybe it would help them score some of those runners they keep leave on base in scoring position...lol

This has become an even bigger issue than we all thought. Because of this, none of these guys will ever want to play for Seattle. We are going to be terrible forever.

I’m pretty sure Nelson Cruz had a quote from many years ago when he was talking about how GOOD the batters eye is.

Yes. Nelson Cruz and one season of Haniger. Other than that...

Are you saying that Haniger one time also agreed that the batters eye was good? Or did you think I was arguing that the batters eye isn’t an issue?

That’s one man compared to everyone else who played there. And even still, it’s Nelson Cruz lol. He just mashes period; regardless of batters eye.

Whats interesting is T-Mobile rates similarly to Fenway in ballpark effect.

Mike Trout is on record saying that T-Mobile is his Favorite Park to hit in--Not surprised because he is a "Professional" Hitter who doesn't ONLY care about Home Runs

Good question would be, how did "good" Mariners hitters over the last 20 years perform in their first versus second year at T-Mobile park? For example, how did Nelson Cruz perform year 1 versus year 2?

When dudes like Beltre, Teo, Winker, Chris Taylor, Kelenic, just to name a few, go elsewhere and thrive it seems like there is something to this batters eye issue.

Mariners get players at the end of their career because they are cheap as an Organization. Kelenic might be having a better year but he is on a team with rock solid culture and a history of wining and being regularly in the post season whereas he was the "savior" for our franchise and tried way to hard. heck Kolton Wong is out of baseball, and I believe there was discussion of Geno not being their everyday starter down in AZ after being traded in the offense with his struggles this year.

    It's COLD & DAMP.
The ball doesn't fly, the body doesn't move as quickly.
    It's simple physics
Add the sightlines and there's more than enough combination of reasons to suck here

Like said later the strike outs are similar home and away. The batting home and road splits are not much better away. It's not the batters eye or the marine layer, it's Bad hitting. I'd put the Mariners struggles down to coaching and T-Mobile as a psychologically thing that hitters are worried about. There are hitters that have had no problem in this park Cruz, Boone, and Edgar. 3 right handed hitters right there which the dimensions of this park don't favour RH'ers.

    • @jarrettchristensen_music

It wasn't the same park back then though

Did you listen to this and hear how many ACTUAL major league baseball hitters are saying this? And you are saying it doesn't exist?

I'm serious look at the home road splits sometime!
      Cal home. .195 .314 ob. .317 slg road .237 .317.512
      JP home. .161.259.228 road.239 349.413
      Dylan. .149.266 .242 at home .249.362 .478 road.
      Julio .241.292 .370 at home .302 .355 .450 on the road.
That's just a small sample size. All the hitters have similar struggles at home
