    After watching this episode, two things come to mind:
    A.) This video series is quite good; nice pacing, storytelling, and the expedition aspect is very compelling; and 2.) Clay doesn't know how to count or number things in sequence.

    Clay ..... and the xo team .... I am a die hard fan of yours .... I actually started my own overlanding in Sri Lanka but I don’t now see the same excitement and drive in you and the team ... have you and the xo team commercialized as more than you should have or ... I don’t know ... but it’s good that you guys do it as a living now and lot of development has been done ... hope you see my point positively thanks

    +expedition overland. I get to live vicariously through you on this show. Watching your trilogy all over again and love it!! Bad wrecks when younger and now multiple surgeries later I'm no longer able me to do these types of travels. Must add I owned one of the first Toyota 4-runners ever made (collaboration with Winnebago in 1981/82 was actually called the "trekker") and drove it to where no other vehicle at the time could go through the Sierra Nevada's.

    12:03 - Despite my grandfather being of age to fight in the World War 2, he didn't. Instead, he worked on the Alaska Highway. Unfortunately, he died before I was old enough to ask him questions like this, and my mom didn't know either. I figured it had something to do with Japan or the Americans looking down the road to a potential conflict with the USSR. Now I know why my grandfather didn't fight in the war. Thanks!

    Greath video. sure lots of people want to be with you in this trip. I am happy for you guys.You got a lot of chance to be able to did this trip. I am desapointed from people who wrote bad commentary about what you did in this film. May be there jalous. I will be retired in 2017 and this will be a place that i will go to see back country. I will use a 4x4 Dodge Ram 3500 dually, diesel, with a truck camper on it. I made lots of trip like north of Québec (Radisson), Nova Scotia, north of Ontario... always in back country, summer or winter. Lots of preparation... We are waiting for your next film. Best regards.

    Have to put in my 2 cents on the bear. Let's see. had to frame by frame this-
    Short rounded ears- Brown / grizzly- Check
    Ruff on lower neck- Brown / grizzly- check
    Prominent Shoulder hump- Brown / grizzly- check
    Hard to tell from the angle, but the face looks slightly dish shaped, another brown / grizzly trait.
    Can tell from the size it was more timid than you'd expect because it was a younger bear. Griz's are interesting in that it depends on their mood how they'll react to people. Being from MT, you guys know that. I grew up there and have known a griz to move off as soon as it sees you and on another occasion have one refuse to move and start huffing at you. They are very temperamental and unpredictable, yes. But, they are not always aggressive. Especially the younger ones.

      Sam Walker seriously you typed all of that just so you can feel important? What are you the griz whisperer? lol. Save it for someone else who likes to hear themselves talking.

    Rubber bullets for a bear, and you hope not to make him mad?

    • @skarsc991
      @skarsc991 6 лет назад +8

      I have to support this comment if only to help you in a future encounter. Never ever shoot a grizzly or a kodiak bear with rubber bullets or even a shotgun unless you are using high density slugs otherwise it will be the last thing you ever did. If you are forced into a confrontation with a wild bear your only chance is to outrun it in your vehicles or kill it before it reaches you. Believe me, a grizzly would rip open your trucks like I would a can of coca-cola with a K-bar knife.

    • @Mudinyeri
      @Mudinyeri 3 года назад +2

      First of all, I'm a little surprised they let you into Canada with guns. Second, having worked for a Montana hunting guide, I have to echo what Black Warrior Lures and Skar SC said. You guys are lucky you have yet to meet a grizzly with an axe to grind.

    • @lu_ar1264
      @lu_ar1264 3 года назад +1

      I agree, having lived in grande cache in alberta for several years, which is infested with grizzlies, a bean bag will just piss it off. Bear spray will do f all. I agree that shooing it away is preferable, but if a griz wants something it becomes persistant about it. gunshots are usually enough to scare it away but if it charges you will have little time to do much. food for thought.

    I had my doubts about how seriously I would take your media project as a whole but I am quickly being sold. At first the background info on characters within your group was a little meh and on the cheesey side. Now I'm starting to appreciate it more. We all have a story. Even if the vids don't actually tell the story they make us much more aware of it. That is something unique that you are doing. This one from a narrative and story perspective is by far my favorite. Excellent work XO and I can't wait to see Ep. 3. Did you guys have extended fuel tanks as well or just factory + Jerry Cans? Also... hopefully I don't come across like too much of a pretentious douche. What you guys are doing is awesome hahaha.

    I am not sure if that was a great idea shooting those banging flairs in the forrest. Even green forrests will catch fire. probably take a little more care next time. But I am still liking your overland. I wish you showed your equipment in detail as you utilise it more. That is a major part of overlanding and seeing it in action more than once.. say in the begining and at the end to see how it fairs etc. That would be an enhancement IMO. Thanks again for the videos!!!
