Are those chords just the chord engine at 2:46? I’ve always fancied a Syntakt but all the demos were sounding the same. I love what you pulled out of it
Yes, just one chord engine track. Sequencing an actual chord progression is a real hassle but once you get a couple of chords you like, it sounds quite nice.
I own a Digitakt. How would you divide workflow between the Syntakt and Digitakt? I'm debating between selling my Digitakt and grabbing a Syntakt, but I'm nervous about losing all of the sampling capabilities.
The main thing samples have for me is that they can sound like real physical objects and provide a sense of place in a way that synths can't. Atmospheric field recordings of a beach or rain, vocal chops, piano chords, acoustic guitar melodies, acoustic snares, actual hand claps, etc. That kind of stuff can humanize a track and make it feel grounded where pure synthesized stuff to me often sounds kind of like it's coming from outer space. So, I'm still keeping my Digitakt for that. (Though honestly, I think I prefer using a DAW when it comes to samples.) At the same time, when I want to just sit down on the couch, it's _really_ nice not to have think "Oh, did I put samples on the groovebox first? Do I need to hook it up to the computer and copy a bunch of stuff over?" So not having samples is a real limitation of the Syntakt, but I think it's one that helps me get more music done.
I do have the digitakt aswell. I don 't think I'll ever sell it, and also I ordered the Syntakt, because I think that they will be a beast of a pairing.
hello, excellent beats. can I ask a question? I see you have a minibrute 2s. My set is a mpc one and a minibrute 2s. What do you recommend I add from elektron? a syntakt plus a digitone or a digitone plus an octatrakt? This is because they say that a syntakt can make sounds from the minibrute 2s. Thank you
If I were in your shoes, I would probably get a Digitone. The MPC One is already covering sampling for you, so the Digitakt won't add much. The Syntact has a bunch of digital synth engines that are different from the Minibrute 2S, but I look at the Syntakt as mostly a standalone groovebox. If you're trying to augment the MPC One, the Digitone will give you a very powerful sound engine that can go in directions the MPC One's synth engine can't, and (unlike the Syntakt) can handle polyphonic sequencing.
Ah, good question! I tend to pick a different amount depending on the feel and tempo of the song. If it's slower and uses more "classic" house sounds like keys and hand percussion, I'll use more swing, up to like 60%. If it's faster or more modern or leans towards techno, I tend to go closer to 50-55%. When I make stuff in Ableton, I tend to use a few different swing settings for different parts, which helps loosen the track up a little.
Not too long, but I had a Digitone and Digitakt already, so I was already pretty comfortable with the sequencer. Learning the new sound design tools has been pretty easy. Elektron does such an excellent job of coming up with just the right parameters to make it fun and prett easy to explore the sound space.
Yes, absolutely. The sound engines are different, of course, but the Digitone can cover a lot of the same tonal territory and the Digitakt can play samples of whatever subtractive synths or digital drums synths you want.
Great job!
Just brilliant, I love the clean classic house elements and the crunchy/noisy one-shots here and there ✨
Dang that's some good stuff!! It's hard to find some melodic/tonal heavy jams but this is an absolute gem. All the noise-effects are so good!
Pls more of those jam sessions
Wow, impressive...I didn't know you could pull that out of a syntakt. Thanks

Do not sell the Digitakt

@@tinywires Muchas gracias por responder, creo que agregare el combo: syntakt + digitone, saludos
❤
couldn't expect this is from creator of lox
😄
Love this track mate. Silly question for you. What groove percentage do you like for house? I’m a 52% guy then move some element around manually :)

For me work 59 or 69 for more aggressive swing
If you could have only one: digitakt or syntakt?
Really impressive. I just got mine. how long did it take for you to get a grip on it?

Would you say the same thing could be made with a digitakt + digitone? Sold mx syntakt to expand to a sp 404 for more sampling😁

Great sound but it s not deephouse
