My garden over the last four years has grown into a mini forest with elderberry trees cramp bark foraging trees making birds happy as well as a food source for us in a pinch comfrey bee balm tulsi oh goodness the list goes on and on to numerous to mention and challenging myself to see if I can grow these here in our very hot climate … 60 years ago I remember my Oma preparing a salve on the stove from plants in the garden to help with bee stings I would get frequently from wandering in the alpine meadows barefoot .. she tended her garden and herbs bringing up 6 children on her own always finding ways in her self sufficient life …not having much of a choice …we need to continue this gift from God and not loose the incredible benefits and share and teach others of the importance of plants and their value in our daily lives …bless you for being one of those special people caring for those with a desire to carry on these gifts … stay blessed

Ooooh...that's gonna be lovely, lovely Luli!
My comfrey has taken over and some of my bee balms are five foot tall! I can't wait for blooms. My marshmellow got eaten by the darn gopher, but some is coming back from seeds...just not in the best spot. LOL That's okay. It can grow and I'll collect seeds this fall. The lemon balm and holy basil are always favorites.
For some reason, I'm having the worst luck growing chamomile! Even the greens smell so good, the bugs just eat it up before it can bloom and I'm trying to get Arnica to naturalize. My calendula get's chomped by grasshoppers. The borage self seeded and came up in my broccoli...lol, but that's okay. Now if I could just get it started in my strawberry beds.
Thanks for sharing your new herb bed! Everyone should grow their own medicine.

Oh! My horseradish came back this year! But...someone is eating the leaves. It looks like chickens, but certainly could have been a goat...or rabbit. I'm keeping an eye out.

Well! You told me something I did not know! Horseradish. Using the greens! I have only ever heard of the ground up root! Could you show, please, more about the greens?
