A few tips: 1.) always being a heavy spell to kill pushes, I use fireball but rocket or freeze are also common choices. 2.) star points are only cosmetics lol. 3.) units with high damage per hit or long range are good against electro giant.

As a general tip your buildings you want to put diagonally in front of your tower so that they can hit the target before it reaches the tower and can draw agro from the target allowing the tower to continue firing. So exactly you probably want to put it diagonally 2 tiles in front of your tower
