Remembering Vishmadeb Chattopadhyay: The magnificent maestro of Kolkata: Part - 3

It's a humble offering to Sangeetacharya Vishmadeb Chattopadhyay by Kolkatasaga. Vishmadeb was one of the greatest musicians of Kolkata or rather India. The outstanding vocalist of Indian Classical Music also captivated the audience with his Khayal, thumri, bengali raagpradhan songs, and his unique harmonium playing style. He served as the director and trainer at megaphone company. Worked as the music composer in twelve hindi and bengali movies under the banner of Film corporation. He was closely associated with Kaji Nazrul Islam. He received talim from Khalifa Badal Khan Sahab. As guru Vishmadeb Chattopadhyay nurtured many stalwarts like Chhaya debi, Kanan Debi, S.D.Burman, Lily Chakrabarty, Juthika Roy, Rabin Chattopadhyay, Suresh Chakrabarty, Rajkumar Shyamananda Sing and many more. Pt Radhika Mohan Maitra, Ustad Mustaq Ali Khan were some of his very close friends.
