    Thanks so much for this tutorial. Can I ask if there any methods to easily classify land as either natural (i.e. dirt, vegetation, etc.) vs. built (pavement, buildings, roads, etc.) based on multi-spectral imaging?

      You're in luck! NASA recently released a workshop doing supervised land cover classification with satellite imagery (appliedsciences.nasa.gov/join-mission/training/english/land-cover-classification-satellite-imagery). It is about 4 hours of instruction (divided into two sections). It may be more general than you need, but it uses QGIS! Hope that helps!
      I plan to produce something similar, but shorter for archaeology. Stay tuned!
