My parents had this same piece; has to be from the 60’s as it has been in their bedroom as long as I can remember and I was born in the early 60’s!
Furniture is not made this well anymore. I would love an old school dresser for all my kids bedrooms.

@@berthalewis4200 I had been looking for another dresser and found one at the Goodwill. Its solid wood just needs some paint. I'm so excited to have it
It is from the '60's. My mom bought the exact set and I still use it today. Quality furniture doesn't exist now days.

Actually I had a dresser exactly like that, and it was bought in the late 60's!
I’d be very surprised if that dresser wasn’t from the late 50s/early 60s.
It’s pretty classic - my brother had the Ethan Allen version from the 60s in his room and when my daughter was born in the 80s, we had a maple crib so bought a chest of drawers like this (but not Ethan Allen quality) to go in the nursery. This looks like a nicer quality piece so I would think it’s older, perhaps from the 60s or 70s.

This is my literal dresser growing up. I still have it in my guest bedroom. Although I wish I had the one you just did instead! Fabulous job!! Love me some BLING!
I also have the exact dresser in one of my bedrooms. I have thought about painting it, but I never would have thought of doing this.

My great grandmother had that in her bedroom for as long as I remember. I think this piece might be from the 60s or 70s.

@@itsjustme.7059 I think it's Ethan Allen. We have that dresser and another one, & nightstands in our bedroom, and the china cabinet, table & chairs in the dining room. Solid wood. Great stuff. It all belonged to my in-laws over 50 years ago.

Early on in the video you said this is a dresser from the '80s. I laughed when I heard that because I have the entire bedroom suite to match your dresser. My Mom bought me mine in 1959! I have been watching you for quite some time for an idea to redo that bedroom set, which included a double bed with canopy. You delivered the inspiration!! Now if I can match up good weather to paint outdoors and enough energy to get it all done I will be so happy.

I adore this color. Not the really dark one. But no sanding? Wow. Looks great. I have 2 ends tables i want gray. And good for you for celebrating your beauty. Its simply stunning
That was the problem she ran into with the top. If she’d sanded first, she wouldn’t have had any problem.
Oh yeah, I would do a happy dance too if my furniture looked like yours. That stencil is gorgeous.
I did something similar with a large piece of lace. I used spray paint and I reused the lace several times after allowing it to dry between uses.
You are so magicly talented and truly gifted with your craft and I admire you so much for this. Before our last 3 moves, I had collected 7 different, unique and extremely well made dining room chairs. As I located them in an affluent neighborhood they were all good candidates for painting. I had plans to try my hand at your art, but we relocated for my husband’s job and they unfortunately were left behind. This was almost 20 years ago, you’d think I would have forgotten about my collection by now, but no I haven’t. After I get one side of my garage cleaned out I will be on the lookout for some discarded furniture. I’ll be watching you closely very soon!!

Although it is not my personal taste, it is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I use to love to create artful pieces for my kids when they were growing up. I could NEVER afford to buy fancy things to decorate the house, but I sure knew how to sew, paint and refinish wood. You would have NEVER have known that 80% of my home furnishings came second hand. My kids always had the best bedroom of anyone else that they knew. In fact, all of their friends were jealous. It is amazing how many different bedroom items that you can make by using just top sheets, including, but not limited to a comforter and matching curtains.

@@KachaFurniture I just got this beautiful dresser (free) after overpaying for another one. I ended up sending to goodwill because the smoke smell was so bad it was making me sick. This dresser has brass pulls that will eventually shine up so nice I’m think I’m going to do do a silver/gold combo if I can pull it off. Would love your expert opinion on what colors I should use (room is grey with grey carpet). Would appreciate your help in choosing the right color. I will send you a pick when I’m done. 🤗

I had that exact same dresser! Painted it white then robins egg blue. Then distressed the edges to expose the white and wood here and there! Used the same hardware polished up and it was gorgeous!
