Enjoy your channel! I stopped watching swing mechanics videos and started watching your channel before I go out and play, just to get my mindset on the right track. It has helped me to better enjoy the game, and focus on process, not results. Also, I’ve lost 18 pounds in the last six months using following process: I walk 18 holes 3x/week (avg 15,000 steps/round), I stopped eating breakfast and only eat between 12:00 noon and 7:00pm, I go through a 30-minute core exercise routine every morning (primarily for flexibility, tone, and balance). Also, my public course doesn’t have a range, so I practice a lot of shots on the course.
I don't know, I fell golf is a great tool/ aid for weight loss but not a major factor. For me golf keeps me moving and on a schedule (independant contractor so work varies) instead of sleeping in so much it's 1-2pm. Golf central TX is pretty hot so staying on top of water intake is great for weight loss and gut health. I don't like "hydrate" because you hydrate 1-3 days before an outdoor event. My hot and humid family out there I put lemon juice in my water. Then my southwestern folk with lemon juice sprinkle some chili seasoning...let that sit overnight. After go to the bar/ club house have a drink or two, talk about the round or what's on TV, check in with your folks then hit the park/ jogging trail before sunset and have a nice 2-3mile jog. My pace is 10-11 min mile (not fast) but it's enough to open your lungs get things pumping and a safe pace that nothing get's pulled or injured. Also loosens the muscles because us lower level golfers are going to pull/ tweak something lower back shoulders on a shot twice in a round. If I use my blades I'm garunteed 2 in a round from 3 iron to wedge. Thanks for the video and the channel. Golf instruction channels/ videos are all with folks not fighting the scale. So easy not to chicken wing when you don't have a gut.
Great advice on getting distances on wedge shots. I make the lazy mistake of not getting a yardage and try to feel the shot. I’d be interested in your weight loss videos. I struggle with weight and there is a big difference in my swing when I have less mass.
I’m into the weight loss journey. For me, beyond the key of diet, it’s about the less obvious parts of weight loss: getting enough sleep, strength training, etc.
Great video Tony. I need to lose weight as well. Trying to quit smoking and not gain a lot of weight is my current goal. BTW I think that slow-mo clip of your tee shot should be part of your intro. Pretty cool
My biggest mistake personally is letting the other people become too much of my game. I have yet to have a good day on busy days. If people are waiting on me, while I’m waiting on people, I find myself rushing and praying that Jesus takes the wheel and I just miraculously make all the right choices. those are days I realize I shouldn’t have even golfed today. I make myself feel out of place, and I don’t know why I do that to myself. I’m interested in your weight loss journey. I used to be over weight for the majority of my younger life, I really got into bmx and just bicycling in general and now I can’t keep weight on myself, Even though I haven’t biked in forever. I will tell you I still have the mentality of a guy that’s trying to lose weight. If I gain a few pounds rapidly or feel sluggish I almost have ptsd and just start getting active. So I’m anxious to see how incorporating weight loss with your golfing goes.
@@adjustin2fishin330 I would probably say most people have anxiety whenever It's a busy chorus and people behind you are "watching". I have a few friends that will basically sacrifice the whole round because we have a group behind us.
What stupid mistakes do you see other people make (or that you actually make)?

I would definitely be interested in the weight loss. I've lost ~30lbs, and I'm about 5lbs away from my goal, but I've plateaued big time.

Meant to type that it SHOULD be a normal part of your intro for your videos
I just started a 30 day push-ups and sit-ups challenge. I want to be in great shape for golf. I walk the course if it's not to long.
