- Rogue’s complete live stream of Day 1 (Friday, March 3) from the 2023 Arnold Strongman Classic in Columbus, Ohio. In this 21st edition of the annual competition, 10 of the world’s most accomplished Strongmen are once again taking on five iconic events: the Wheel of Pain, Austrian Oak, Elephant Bar Deadlift, Unspunnen Stone Throw, and Timber Frame Carry. As an exciting new development, the first official Arnold Strongwoman Classic is also being held concurrently, giving 10 elite female athletes a shot at the very same five events as the men.
Among the formidable challengers seeking their first Arnold title are Mateusz Kieliszkowski (Poland), Tom and Luke Stoltman (Scotland), Pavlo Nakonechnyy (Ukraine), and Americans Trey Mitchell, Rob Kearney, and Bobby Thompson. In the women’s field, Rogue athlete Hannah Linzay joins a determined group that also includes several former winners of the Arnold’s Pro Strongwoman division, namely Donna Moore (UK), Olga Liaschuck (Ukraine), and Victoria Long (USA).
Rogue’s coverage of the Arnold Classic weekend includes new, live episodes of the Rogue Iron Game studio show, with analysis of the competition and interviews with guests from the worlds of Strongman, Olympic Lifting, Powerlifting, and CrossFit. I love that Rogue does this. It would be nice if WSM would get a clue
15k viewers on free livestream vs 10's of millions households across the world
Too much money involved in the TV deals! Hate having to wait until Christmas here in the UK to watch WSM 🙃
@@crchalmers2012 even then what we see on TV is only the finals and even then its just hightlights
@Kevin Patrick Carey still gotta remember WSM is owned by same people who owns UFC so they would rather take the TV deal
@@spokeen6249 except the real fans already know the outcome by the time they watch it… Your argument is invalid.
Huge thanks to Rogue for putting this out live. And it's awesome to have Big Loz and Jerry commentating together. Looking forward to day 2!
Big Loz is doing great on the stream as usual, but Jerry Pritchett is doing great as well.
Thrilling to see the broadcasr include women as well as the men.💪
It's still insane the Big Z did 4 fairly easy reps with a log 20 pounds heavier a decade earlier.
While that does show Big Z's strength, I'd also wonder if that performance would have been impacted by the wheel of pain as well. I wish they switched the events.
@@BuffPomsky I mean, in previous years nobody was able to match Z's 2015 performance either.
Brilliant performance by Trey! Looks like Luke just needed a little longer break after the wheel of pain to hit the log. Rootimg for mateusz to score big in 4th and 5th event! I am so excited!!!
All athletes had similar rest no a viable excuse imo. I think the extended break was too much or their coach got the prep wrong
@@Letsdoit2 and they say their focus is WSM which is like a month away
I really feel for Matuesz, he needs to be confident in himself you are a beast Matuesz!!
For me, Mateusz is unfortunately just not comp fit, and I feel this comp is just too big of a comp to start with. I'm not sure when the first SCL show is happening, but I feel doing one or two would get his confidence back and be good warm up comps for him
@Peter Shortland Yes everyone can tell he is nervous and his confidence looked shaken today. I hope he wins the stone throw and frame carry tomorrow! He seems to be the best in the world when it comes to anything grip or just natural events like frame/farmers walk, yoke, pushing objects or pulling them. Matuesz needs to keep his head up he is an incredible strongman.
@@petershortland478 He is afraid of getting injured again because he has been suffering for years, for me he is my favorite Strongman
It looks like he was planning on winning the show, but rly this is tooo high expectations from him on his comeback show. The most important thing for him is to not get injured again. Then he will steadily improve and may win in the future.
The way he lifts the log slowly clearly shows how much he is conscious of the injury risks. Hopefully with a few more show with logs in the 180kg ranges wich he can one motion he will gain confidence again in his ability to press and unleash his inner beast
Those women though!! 🎉🎉🎉 LOVE seeing them on the big stage! Thank you Rogue!
Thank You Rogue for these Awesome Streams and Videos.
Trey is statically the strongest man in the world and in my opinion has been since he won the Shaw classic in 2021. He's proving it again this weekend.
I agree, Trey is a Static Monster.
agreed
Then maybe he should switch to powerlifting because Strongman includes dynamic strength as well.
@@kooroshrostami27just because Trey is the statically strongest doesn’t mean he sucks at the dynamic events (he literally came in 2nd on Wheel of Pain). His performances at the Shaw Classic and Rogue Invitational are proof that he’s extremely well-rounded
He should have won the Rogue Classic. People were gifted reps in that comp
Thank you, Rogue, for the incredibly professional livestream as usual. About time we had the strongwomen front and centre with the men's events.
Trey mistaking Hooper and Pablo was pretty satisfying after Mitch called Kiki "Kaz" xD Trey IS the man
The irony of you making this comment while calling Pavlo, Pablo is also pretty hilarious.
It might be a sub reddit task that they gave Hooper to do.
Trey didn't do it on purpose.
Bobby Thompson has heart. Props for his grit to give the wheel of pain a go with a fused ankle. Then he wasn't given that log press rep for not holding it long enough, no doubt because of his balance. To compete at the highest level with an injury like that is admirable.
Thanks for this, Rogue and Arnold’s. I really appreciate it.
Thanks for Rogue for the livestream. Awesome!! Thank-you!!
Nakonechnyy pretty much muscled that log up...insane!
Yeah he's strong. If he works on his technique he'll be great
So much strength, he definitely could be an easy podium contester if he just worked more on technique.
So amazing to see the women competing alongside the guys!!! Thank you for the awesome coverage Rogue!!!
Some of those women are guys!
drinking game: take a shot every time Thor says "guys"
Great job by Trey, but so far, Jerry is doing a super job announcing. Pleased to see him announcing.
Mateusz Kieliszkowski 💥💥💥
Some of those log lifts had questionable lockouts - Rob had one and Mitch had another. Note to moderator: Cut the background music when someone is talking. Can't wait to see Day 2!
not sure about mitch's reps, i haven't watched the stream yet, but Rob can't fully lock out his elbow because of the old tear and repair, so he would have notified the judge before hand
Magnús Ver Magnússon crap judging again. He's another who needs to call it a day. Rouge never learn.
@@RubbishGimpy Every single time when calls are questionable it's his name. Time catches up to everyone, needs to sit back and be part of the audience.
@@narcissus79then he cant Lift it, no excuses to get it easy
@@nbs90 rules in strongman allow you to have a soft lockout on one elbow if you announce before hand that you have an injury that prevents it locking out. Don't like the rules? Talk to Strongman International, not me.
Woah! Strongwoman! I didn’t know that was a thing! This is very cool
Thanks Rogue! It's great to be able to watch this!
This is the best strongman livestream ever! Noticed how they even update the lengths of the wheel of pain in realtime? Thank you Rouge!
Strategically the extra lifts for Luke weren't a good plan, but maybe he needed the mental boost
It looked like it did wonders for his confidence
Please enable Closed Captioning for the hearing impaired. :) love this
That wheel of pain really put a number on luke couldn't even get 1 rep on the log wow
should be reserved as a Final event
@@kevinpatrickcarey3741 Nah, strongman isn't just about big performances but also performing after a heavy event such as the wheel of pain. Maybe not the right choice to put it first event day one, but shouldn't be the last.

His best event too. Its taken the wind out of his sails.
While it did tire the contestants, this just shows that the stoltman brothers are falling behind. I can't believe Luke didn't even go for the heavy log lol
This is awesome, thank you so much rogue
Thank you Rogue for doing this!
Anyone else wish Rogue could cover Worlds Strongest Man? 👀👀

Thank you Rogue for providing this amazing content and sponsoring strongman. The innovation that goes into these events is amazing. The Rogue invitational was one hell of a show.
The stolts are toast
So...that means next year we could have Martins, Halfthor, Novokov, Kieliszkowski, Mitchell and Hooper all in the same Arnold's????? 😱😱😱
Lets go Trey🤠
Good video.
Take aways-
Rebecca dominated Wop
Andrea monstrous on Log
Trey is ridiculously good foe heavy log for reps
Mateusz not quite back to 100%
Luke’s legs are poorly conditioned
Tom not 100% but got comp log pb
Mitch being mr consistent
Some meh judging
Tbh one rep for Tom going into the deadlift isn't bad thing
Stoltmans don't have Colin to show them favortism.
Trey has always been one of the best log pressers of the last 3yrs. He is overlooked.
@@petershortland478 funny thing is that 195kg is Tom’s new comp pb
Laurance is comenting wrong about log lift.
BigZ did 4 reps with 450 pound log! And did it twice. Nobody else could even lift it once.
Melissa Peacock is an absolute babe, unbelievable
proves you can be super strong and still look like a woman
Canadians come first in looks.
@@RubbishGimpy im Canadian but im not good looking hahah
@@kevinpatrickcarey3741 I'm not making any negative comments here, but my partner saw me watching the first female event and refused to believe Victoria long was female
@@spokeen6249 She does look like a man. With the hair and everything she's clearly going for that look. Actually, she's quite a handsome dude, specially with the shades on. 😎🔥
Mateus Is doing great for being gone for 2 years. If he can hold bk damage from the deadlift and win the stone trow he may be top 3.And maby even Slightly he might win.I belive in him and he is my favorite strongman and still is.Im always rooting for this guy.I mean who wouldn't,he's such a good sport and strong individual.Great return mateus💪
"Thanks Kaz" 😅
💪💪
Polska górą!
Shame Mateusz isn't back to his previous pressing strength..He would have blown through that event
Is this at Cardiff?
I feel like Bobby should have been given that first log lift, especially when Rob was given his,
Day 2 is looking pretty good for Mitch to win this. 2nd place worse case for Mitch because even if Mateusz beats Mitch on the frame and stone throw, Mateusz will drop more points to Mitch on the deadlift.
Is that Hafthor sitting in the back ground behind Matteusz? 5:00:12
One suggestion for wheel of pain drill plumb hole and insert laser pointers in the lower jaw of each spoke, pointed to distance dial so judge with stick does not have to eyeball it
Jakaś przerwa?
Oh wow
I still can't believe that Tom Stoltman did worst that Rebecca Roberts in the Wheel of Pain! Legit, if she would've been against the guys in that event, she would've been 3rd freaking place!!! Just amazing.
commentator: watch how luke cleans the log, its too easy for him (luke vibrating to make a single rep)
commentator: watch how its too much for hooper, (hopper cleanly presses)
Rebecca Roberts shouldn't have been an alternate. She is way to good to not be among the main list
She replaced Nadia Stowers who is equally one of best strong women. Too many North Americans in these competitions.
She doesn’t showboat much on socials so she gets over looked sometimes. 100% agree she should be in first pick for shows like this. She’s still training for them just in case but if she knew then she could dial up the comp prep without it possibly being for nothing.
O której start
Let's go Treeeeeyyyyyy!!!!!
Thanks to Rogue Fitness for posting this! Unlike the other stingy guys...😏😏
They should have done log first and after that the weel of pain
Event 1 Women 40:30, Event 1 Men 1:59.55, Event 2 Women 3:18.30, Event 2 Men 4:22.15
Good show so far but some generous down calls.
Strongman judging is not as strict as Oly or powerlifting
@@maxgamesst1 its more the inconsistency in the judging as well, some refs strict, others not
Not terrible by strongman standards.
worst was Kearneys no way he should have been given credit for that one lift
Welcome to Magnús Ver Magnússon school of judging.
I love the stoltmans... but this isn't the 1st time we've seen them not be in shape for comps is it a coach thing or is it lack of prep 2 much time off I don't know they seem to prep for 1 comp a year and that's world's IMO
I think Tom looks in more shape. Luke, for me, looked drained after the Wheel of Pain, Tom doing 1 rep is actually not too bad, especially when he has other events. He is doing better than last year so far.
Tom basically admitted during his interview after the wheel of pain that he isn't in shape for this contest and his main focus is worlds.
they never seem serious on RUclips I love the guys but they could stand to me more serious these days
@@whenisasnakeatail4933 Mariusz Pudzianowski had the same problem. Tom still has time.
They’re mid prep for worlds really 😅 blowing the cobwebs off at the Arnold pro is a bit rude but they wanted them there and they’ve showed up.
I thought they’d save the wheel of pain for day two
its always first
Is this the same strongest man that is happening in Florida with Brian Shaw in group 3?
Giving 10 points for one lift with the light log isn't fair! Using the One Rep max calculator, 1 rep with 430 pounds is equivalent to 4 reps with 387 pounds! So one lift with the light log should count for 25 points!!!
Surely they adjust the wheel of pain weight. Those girls were doing more than the men.
Yeah, they put some sandbags, barrels, or similar weights into the bottom part before the men went.
I always love watching Arnold Strongman Classic but adding the a Strongwoman it just perfect. Didn’t know this could get any better.
What's the temperature there?
It was between 36° and 50° F (2.2° and 10° C) yesterday in Columbus, and it was raining.
What’s the name of this music
Z used to do 4 reps with 205 kg log...
Hafthor bjornsson
Trey Mitchell the only American worth a damn
Who hired the NPC to commentate this? He has about 6 different canned phrases in rotation for the entire 6 hours
Where's the @jaxblade comment?
The Mountain will be back next year!
Can’t wait
Wait, are some males competing in the female division? That's for fair.
SO how did Trey get second after one event, if he finished in the middle of the pack?
It was unofficial record. Meaning they didn't measure it yet
Too bad for Mateusz. When it came to log press I assumed he would just laugh at these weights as these are just toys for him. Too bad he had injury in the past.
My prediction: Mitch Hooper 1st. Pavlo 2nd.
Miss Martins this year, but he deserve rest to back even stronger.
But also really happy to see Mateusz back in action and still make it, even he gonna need training to restore his full strenght. Hope this year no injury touch him and we watch him to compete to win every contest again.
Mitch Hooper still have amazin performance, what a rookie, really consistent and capable, worthy successor of a legend like Caron.
India No.1 Jayy Hind!
Please im a noobie watcher can someone explain to me what those smelling salts do for you? Without making fun of me thanks?
they basically trigger the bodies "fight or flight" response, making your body dump adrenaline and makes your attention super sharp and focused.
Kieliskovski dedlift😢😢😢😢
God Bless Luke Stoltman
He’s gonna come last whole comp
老外大力士就是牛逼
so correct me if i am wrong ? the women and males pushed the same wheel and the women's leader beat some guys ?
Different weights. There are sand bags abd weights in the wheel. Some where taken out for rhe women.
where is hafthor
He will be in Rogue booth
He’s at 4:44:44
Lmao, Idk why Trey is flustered when he's a complete unit.
Why is victor long competing against women?
How is it that a woman pushed the wheel of pain further than some of the men? Is it the same wheel and weight on it?
They were showing 20k lbs for both so I'm guessing it's the same. Rebecca's literally bigger than most of those dudes though, she's amazing.
@@HassanZargari Even so, that is crazy. The best woman should be worse than the worst man, if she is better than some of the men that is totally crazy.
@@HassanZargari I went back to look at the result and she was better than 8 of the men. That is near impossible. The contraption may be different.
@@dyardsale5475 Yeah you're probably right!
I feel so bad for Mateusz. He is so good, just plagued by injury.
Plenty of room for strongmen to put bigger weights overhead. Look at the '72 Olympics.

eddie hall and brian shaw the strongest couple
How did tamara do
Terrible. Last on Wheel of pain and zero log lift.
