Oh man this video is a godsend. A good reminder why I have to wait till spring to go rockhounding. When you come back you can definitely pull out stuff bigger than your head.
Did the same thing in northern AZ in many feet of snow. Ended up rockhounding in someone's driveway. Got many pounds of obsidian. All black. Good job finding glass and not getting stuck!
@@ThirdPlanetRocks Good time of year for agate hunting at Saddle Mountain. There is good fossil hunting above the Rim, but it could all be under many feet of snow in winter. Dress warm!
There is a stretch of road in southern NV that you would really like, I think. It has an abundance of Apache Tears. I mean tons of smokey quartz all over the place right on the side of the road. It's in between Beatty and Golfield, more toward Goldfield. I found a bucket full in 15 minutes,
Hell yeah! That’s a great car for that, just a little smaller but more fuel efficient than my mountaineer. I cut my seats out with a sawzall and took them to the scrapyard to make this build lol
This was a good honest depiction of what this area is like in the winter.
Legend has it, Glass Butte takes the souls of those that venture in without AWD 😅
@@ThirdPlanetRocks It's not a place or time of year to get stuck, that's for sure.

Why thank you - I need to go back. There’s so many different varieties here!

Haha! That’s essentially what it felt like I was doing. I’m glad I could even find a few chunks. I’ll be headed for AZ soon actually

I drive a Mercury Mariner. I took the seats out of the back so that I could put all my gear back there and car camp at some point.

@@ThirdPlanetRocks Haha that's cool. My Mom had one of those, that's how I ended up getting the Mariner. They're both good vehicles!
This snow! 😂 nah man!!! Props for getting out there 👍🏽
Nice video!
Thank you - sorry I missed your comment, they were coming to my phone on 2 separate apps!
