I can just imagine many years ago people standing there on a cold dark rainy winters day seeing the lights of the train heading slowly towards them . Amazing find 👍🏻
Happy days 🥳. Nice find 👍. It is such a shame to think it'll all be buried at some point in the not too distant future. It makes me wonder what's really beneath our feet 🤔
Isn't it fantastic when you find something that you hadn't realised was there, I woke up this morning to find a six foot blonde bird in the bed beside me, that was fantastic!!!!! Unfortunately The Wife wasn't best pleased🤣. Seriously, that was an excellent video, it's not too far from me so next winter when the weeds die back it's on my to do list.
Loved it, love your enthusiasm, as a brick collector, nice to see you focusing on them, each tell a story, where they came from, a search will give you rough dates too.
Great to see you around our neck of the woods. If your back this way your more than welcome to visit East Yorkshires only heritage railway at Fimber, the Yorkshire Wolds Railway, a couple of miles the other side of the tunnel. Look forward to seeing you 👍🏼
What an amazing find 👏 and to see images before it was almost gone for you to discover what remains to see it in light again! Nice dude 👌 And you walk straight past a little tunnel, probably for water flow?
Just come across your channel. There wasn't a signal box at Burdale station, apart from the boxes at Driffield and Malton the only one was at Sledmere Fimber, all the other signalling was controlled by ground frames. Really interesting video, thank you, I'll have to watch some of your others. Burdale Quarry closed in the mid 50s, I can't remember the exact date off the top of my head, and it was the quarry closing that effectively caused the lines closure as traffic dwindled to very little
Thank you. My intention here, was to actually get in the tunnel, but shortly after looking at the station, I got caught by the landowner lol! Thanks for watching.
@@LeiceExplore Birstall Estate seem to be a bit funny about people going onto their land. I'm involved with the Yorkshire Wolds Railway and they don't seem interested in our project
@@LeiceExplore It is a shame, though the other problem with heading towards Malton from where we are is there is 2 roads to cross before you get anywhere, which is the main reason why we are heading towards Wetwang.
Thanks again Steve, we loved it. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
Thank you Graham, there may be another vid this evening/tomorrow for ya to get ya teeth into as well.

Cheers mate. When this railway opened this area would’ve been very remote to
What a find! You find some of the most amazing hidden gems.
Cheers buddy! Yeah nice little gem this one mate
I loved that. That platform is a beauty.
The bit that really struck a chord was the walkway up to the platform, imagine the folk walking up there
Cheers buddy! I thought exactly the same mate
My Dad and Auntie were born at Burdale Station in the 1920s. Their Dad was the Station Master. I love imagining them playing round there!
@@hazelmoody7206 that’s fantastic, thank you!

Thank you. I think there is a lot beneath our feet that we don’t know/are not told about. A lot of it hidden in plain site!

Cheers buddy! I wondered where you were going with that then lol! Yeah not a bad mini mooch this, a few hundred yards away from the Burdale tunnel
Great mate. Love an accidental discovery! Often the best.
Yes mate. I’d just basically forgotten about it!

Thank you very much! Yes, each brick does tell a story, absolutely!
@@LeiceExplore I've got nearly 250 in my collection, that's a lot of stories!

Hi Julian! I love your neck of the woods, a beautiful area, that I’ll certainly be coming back to, maybe again this year!
😮👍
The corrugated iron structure was the engine shed for the quarry’s steam engine .
Thank you very much!

Yes, dude, look back on the footage 👍

Love a great happy accident.
Yeah this was a nice surprise mate, thanks for watching
