I've always said to my friends, when you look at Rains POV: his mechanics, crosshair placement, spray control, peeking, movement. All of it looks world class. So smooth, so controlled. And we saw glimpses of brilliance from Rain all throughout 2021/2022. I'm not surprised he was able to slay this much, more surprised that he was going to outfrag twistz and broky honestly.

I think Rain is such a veteran of this sport, he actually NEEDS the pressure of the stage to shine. I don't completely understand the psychology of it but I remember we were calling for Faze to bench him in the online era, but this time he is powered by the pressure of a major title, Lan, and a stage to play on in front of a crowd. He puts on a career best! The Tec-9 4v3 round on T side was so incredible I was screaming at my computer, he won the whole round with his heaven wrap, timing, and presence, completely impossible to predict, a perfect T side walk up
It's possible, but himself he explains it as a matter of getting fueled by all the people saying he needs to be replaced from Faze. This also made him practice an insane amount.

Olof made it clear that he lacks motivation to keep grinding CS, and how motivating is to play with someone like that?
I’m similar. I can think clearer under pressure. When he’s under pressure he probably just goes with his instinct more and doesn’t overthink things, which in his case being a top 20 cs player is an advantage as his first decision will usually be the right one

This was one of the if not the greatest Nuke performances of all time. Rain was pure class in this map on both sides. Really glad for the bois in Faze. They truly deserved it.
I remember saying about a year or so ago that Rain seemed to have lost his fire for playing the game. He kinda seemed like he was just there to collect a paycheck, but I think the addition of Twistzz and Ropz really helped him get his head back in the game and realize that he can be just as good as them.
I'm so happy Rain got the MVP and showed this level of form. So many morons called for him to be replaced in the last few months. I don't hear any of them piping up in the comments anymore.
He has consistently performed below expectation this past year. There's a reason this performance was so unexpected out of him. This tournament represents a potential return to form for him. Does everything make sense to you now?

Honestly, electronic's dip in form really must have had an impact on navi's nuke form- as you mentioned rain got away with a lot in the yard, ct and t side, when after Stockholm 2021 all we were talking about was electronic doing the same and hitting all these timings vs niko etc etc.

@@launders yeah, you're right sir Especially in of period from online era to returning to lan, he struggled with his performance but in his first domaint era (2017-2018) he had a great performance and great impact on a team even though the team didn't manage to win a lot of a tournaments (especially major where they struggled the most)
You have no idea how bad Faze was on Nuke just in the last year. Karrigan is a god and he pushed his team and now they are the best in the world on Nuke. You can really see their progress from their matches on Nuke, which Navi keep picking it if they meet last year, because Faze sucked at it and Navi is the best at the map at that time. Cheers!

Seemed like most of his deaths were to electronic, which is fitting. Edit: vs Electronic - 8 deaths, 5 kills vs B1t - 4 deaths, 2 kills Perfecto - 2 deaths, 5 kills s1mple - 1 death, 8 kills boombl4 - 0 death, 10 kills more than half his kills were against boom and S1mple, and yeah Electronic had twice as many kills against him than the next most in B1t.

Faze consistency to double peak, triple peak and so on is very on point that the enemy doesn't know who to shoot first.

Seemed like most of his deaths were to electronic, which is fitting.
Edit: vs Electronic - 8 deaths, 5 kills
vs B1t - 4 deaths, 2 kills
Perfecto - 2 deaths, 5 kills
s1mple - 1 death, 8 kills
boombl4 - 0 death, 10 kills
more than half his kills were against boom and S1mple, and yeah Electronic had twice as many kills against him than the next most in B1t.

i not always agree with you but yes, nuke requires lot of chemistry to be good at so simply not much competition because of that navi and faze just very dominant there
