@@Montesama314 probably cause it’s how she made her cape, probably made it to keep the Batman style but smaller so it was more practical to fight in, but then she learnt she could glide and decided to make a bigger cape that enables her to do so
I'm a bit torn. There are some nice ideas but some of these traversal methods look like they might get a bit annoying after while.
You also Have The ability to fast travel to multiple locations across the map so you won’t spend like 4 min going from one side of the map to the next. And with 4 different ways to travel excluding the Batcycle, that’s quite a lot

Personally, I am liking this game. It isn't perfect but I genuinely think its a solid good game. Nothing groundbreaking or revolutionary but yeah, it's a decent game. Good time filler until God of War Ragnarok.
As for the traversal abilities, I think each character was designed with different things in mind and the development wanted players to pick characters based on what they are wanting to do next. Nightwing is by far the best for quickly zipping about and getting collectibles and doing quests like the drone hacks for fast travel etc. Robin is good for doing the random crimes out in the streets and red hood is good for premeditated crimes I've found and he's a hard hitter so crimes are stopped much quicker with him from my experience. Batgirl is a bit of all 3 but not so specialised as them at specific things. I think she is more so there to appease the Arkham games fanboys and bring that sort of nostalgic feeling of Batman without playing as Batman. She's decent all round but I much prefer playing as one of the other 3 depending on what I want to do. I mostly use batgirl for story missions and jump between the others for the tasks/quests I feel they are suited for.
Defford could be doing with some updates too though and I think this game could be made much, much better. But, its still not a bad game imo. I'm enjoying it.

@@DinkWhit Grinding nearly a dozen crimes just to know how to glide isn't "improving a character" when four Batman console games already nailed traversal before. This looks like a justification for padding the game's runtime. There was surely a better way to introduce the premeditated crimes.
Wow never thought of using slideway like this because I've been struggling to find its purpose since the bike just seemed faster to me. As a Robin Main I appreciate the slideway tips bro
I think the most wholesome thing is wrapping people away with Robin. Not gonna lie, he is very versatile and his momentum abilities compliments him so well 👏🏼

Nightwing is a bet tricky for me to get the Rhythm of, love Red Hood, the mystical shot ability I can't quite nail but his gun-fu is FUN!
Babs ain't no slouch either and love hacking the environment they really tapped into her role as Oracle. But Timbo...wasn't my fave out the gate but maaan as the game progresses he's TOO fun!
Really wish Batgirl had something to help her keep up with then others in Co op. Would have been great if they gave her rocket boots like from batman beyond for short bursts of speed to keep your momentum going and keep up with everyone who can go from one end of the city to the other so damn quick.
I think rocket boots is a bit much. They should just let your dives add more speed to your flight

I’d love to have a montage of all the hero’s trying to get used to their new tech. Like red hood try his mystic leap and only one of his legs does it or something and he falls and bat girl trying to learn to glide like a bird trying to fly ya know something like that would’ve been really cool

I love that stealth method for robin I’m gonna steal that from ya, I also discovered verticality is what it’s best for too, I use it to get to the top of the tall towers, I smoked my mate gettin up to the top of towers for the (spoiler boss fights) cause they’re on top of rooftops

I like the ambush takedown for batgirl when shes gliding she she lifts an enemy with her grapple gun and flips them
My issue is how slow Robin's teleport beam is. If it let me reposition faster I'd enjoy it more. This actually feels true for all the traversal powers.
The bike as well is quite underwhelming. I wish you could upgrade it at the bench.
Completely Agree with the pace of all the traversal methods. I really dont like using Robin’s ability outside of combat or when I have to go over long distances. Grappling is far better

Robin: Best traversal and stealth but probably the least visually appealing
Batgirl: Most similar to Batman's method of traversal
Nightwing: Almost the same as Robin except it looks a bit better but lacks precision
Red Hood: Most visually appealing but pretty much the same as Batgirl
Spot on, but I want to add that Robin’s ability shouldn’t be used for Traversal, especially over long distances. It shines for stealth, combat and over short distances. Or if you want to reach the top of a building fast
Robins slideway is slow as hell, how can you say its the best? Everyone elses is much faster
How is Robin's like Nightwings?
I like all of them but my favourite is nightwing then robin. I thought I would main red hood but he isn't much universal too me like robin/nightwing and even batgirl is growing on me as a fun character. I like red hoods leap but guess I need to use him a little more.
I think your comment proves one thing, every character is great in their own way. I was leaning toward Robin and Redhood but Then I played with Batgirl and Nightwing and realized they also have useful & powerful tools
@@Djisso That's what I love about this game, it makes the characters really feel different and makes them useful in more cases than others. But I made sure to keep all their power levels and gear close to each other so I can switch and still feel powerful. Almost have all the abilities just need some league assassin's and then the second ult but need to find an easy way to get nightwing's 2nd ult🤔.

The best traversal for me is robin and Nightwing because robin can teleport in short range and its best for stealth missions and nightwing because he can glide like Fortnite i hope nightwing have a wingsuit instead of a glider
A wingsuit sounds so much better than a glider, especially since the Glider can be somewhat slow. And when it comes to robin, as long as you are not travelling for more than 200m, it is the best traversal method and is unrivaled in combat or stealth
Wait how do you go upwards as Nightwing and Batgirl, I feel like I'm just falling and losing altitude
Robins is the only one I have a prob with because It moves so slow, I wish it moved twice as fast and lasted only about 4s to seem more like a quick teleport, but yea good for stealth

Yes You can, And I strongly Recommend doing that since the first challenges are easy to complete early in the game. It will just take some time
This game shouldve had at least semi-robust parkour mechanics like the Watch Dogs series combined with Just Cause-style wingsuit gliding for Nightwing & Red Hood's traversal, instead of the goofy Fortnite glider & "mystical leap" BS lol, while Robin just like Batgirl should have Batman-style cape gliding
The parkour is definitely a big letdown since they could have easily implemented that option

Yeah They should do something about it. And not just with Robin since I think Nightwing and Batgirl are also kinda slow. But it has more to do with the fact that there is no speed bonus while grappling

I always felt robins traversal mechanic was for combat.
Exclusively for Combat and to travel over short distances. Good for gaining altitude real fast as well

Oh I just press the jump button once to launch myself. If that doesn’t work maybe go in your accessibility menu to see if the option is on “Tap” or “Hold”

I'm glad I chose Nightwing as my main and not Robin or Red Hood so I unlocked the Knighthood stuff with him, Robin's traversal is fucking stupid😭
It is truly ridiculous when trying to explore the city or go long distances. You are better off walking there as opposed to teleporting

Has anyone figured out how to drop down from a perch, as far as i can tell they have completely removed the ability to drop down. You can only leap down which make the traversing in close quarters next to impossible. Try to drop down off a perch onto a ledge onto a certain pressure pad that is disabled. GL with that.
Have you tried pressing the Evade button while being perched ? It should make them drop down and not jump. But it is not always accurate and you have little room to move around
@@Djisso turns out it is a hidden option bound to the crouch key on PC anyway So crouch to go over ledge then crouch again to drop. :-/ . All the frustrating hrs of game play ill never get back.

I love the Robin say about justice League as remind of the heroes team but sad didn't give at less some side quest or let the character react to the heroes and same different dialogue.
It is not too late yet, they can still introduce some DLC with Justice league Heroes. I can easily see Supergirl featured in this game
@djisso I'd prefer someone like green arrow, Damien Wayne, huntress or black Canary since they're more street level heroes. Supergirl would be to op and wouldn't make sense at all in this setting

@@Djisso sideways is like one of the new gen dc superheroes his comic was canceled sadly but I loved the character so much he has the ability to open rifts and teleport through them but he could do a little bit more with it too like turn the rifts into solid constructs he accidently cut a persons limbs off closing a portal he's actually so cool

Ooh yeah, it is a separate ability which you unlock after getting your Knighthood

Arkham perfected Traversal. The most annoying thing when it comes to Gotham Knights is the fact that you do not get any speed boost after grappling. And this makes the traversal even slower

ATTENTION BATGIRL USERS: Spam her glide button and pull up to “infinite glide” my Xbox friend discovered this and she taught me I can literally reach the sky limit without a single grapple

You definitely dont want to Sleep on Robin since he feels like the most Balanced Character and potentially the flashiest. I reckon his Traversal abilities are not good when use them for more than 10s. It is super effective in Combat though

When do I unlock it?
It's less "when" than "how". You need to complete the very first knighthood challenge. Defeat 3 minibosses and something else you need to do, don't remember. Maybe it's something different for different characters, I've unlocked the gliding for Batgir doing the challenges described above.
Oh whenever you have access to the exploration and Are able to stop crimes. I made a video about how to get those abilities but it is exactly like the previous comment stated. The unfortunate part is that you have to repeat the process with every character and basically Stop 40 Crimes and defeat 12 Mini-Boss

Djisso, I’m curious as to what you think of the game. I know that you are one of the people that are bummed out about the 60 fps thing, which I personally don’t care about at all. I’m getting the game either way. But yes, I’m curious to see what you think, as you seemed like one of those people that disliked the game as soon as the lack of 60 fps was announced.

And think I also addressed that “Djisso will die before he plays a game at 30 fps” take which couldn’t be farther than the truth. The gaming industry is just a sketchy place nowadays. 10 years ago, I would have brought a disk and just started playing the game. There was actually an incentive to deliver the best possible experience at launch since recurrent patches weren’t a thing like they are today. But nowadays studios would just release their games in a questionable state and patch them over time. If the game works poorly at launch, why are players paying full price then ? And mind you, games are getting more expensive while the quality is getting worse.
The moment I heard that Gotham knights would run at 30 fps, I thought about cancelling my pre order because I knew that when a game is expected to run at a certain frame-rate, it always dips way below, especially on consoles. I have had some intense fighting sequences where the game was honestly running at 10 fps due to all the things happening. Hopefully it only happened twice in my 100 hours of playing the game, so not enough to piss me off. But that was my experience and maybe someone had it worse.
And the worse thing is, they knew months before the game comes out that the performance would be limited. Why make it public only a week before the game actually comes out ? That’s also got me anxious about everything else they may not be up front about and that’s not the kind of behavior I want to encourage. The casual gamer always loses and the studios keep pulling shady tactics like those
So the discussion is way deeper than “Djisso hates 30 fps” and quite frankly, the conversation isn’t even there. You seem to be very critical of things but as I said before, you need to approach things objectively and Subjectively instead of jumping on the gun like that and drawing conclusions out of nowhere. Top 3 best games I have ever Played : Bloodborne, Red Dead Redemption and Hollow Knight and Two of them run at 30 fps and sometimes way below. But I guess I hate 30 fps 🤓

Do you not know what zeta tubes are? That’s the tech he used as for red hood they establish early on with ra’s that in this world Lazarus does give powers which is pretty common for the pits, just some iterations decide to ignore it so that it doesn’t make ra’s too powerful

I've never seen a teleport look so slow lol how did they not let u aim and use it too the game is so lazy it's annoyed me because i really wanted it to be good but it's very poor design the fighting the bike the terrible frame rate on console 😑 PS3 game

@@nevy4256 I recently watched my friend play as Robin and Red hood on PS5 and it was fun he played it at a slow pace with all the HuD off i think i will do the same and join him 😅
The traversal is slow but also It is not supposed to be used for Exploration. In short distances and in Combat, there is nothing better. And the Game surely struggles with Performance but if you invest a bit of time and have very minimal Hud, you will have a good time

If I’m going to be completely honest Batman Arkham Knight gameplay is way better
The combat is one area where Gotham Knights actually is better than Arkham Games. It is rich, colorful and Flashy. And with 4 characters to choose from, you can Mix it up with different Playstyle. Everything else is a downgrade though. Oh Also Co-op is fun
It is so unreal how shitty this game is. Arkham knight is lightyears ahead of this mobile game.
