I have 5 friends doing this same thing in san Diego . A couple parking tickest per month is still WAY cheaper that rent. Around $1800-2000 for a sec8. Style utilitarian unit. Its been the new rent hack here. Boat life too. 1 friend spent $40k on a boat thats pimpin'. $800 for the slip rental. Their set ups are nice. If i was young and single id be doin it.
