    Thank for this, it's fantastic. So what would be your overall opinion about the circuit for ambient purpose?

    • @andypidcock
      @andypidcock  8 лет назад

      Hey, The Circuit is great for Ambient stuff but choose your sounds wisely ! the PC sound editor for the circuit is a great help. There are a few more really good youtube videos now with some very good ambient/trance tracks on the circuit, plenty of thumping house stuff to if that's your thing ! like any instrument you have to spend time with the circuit to get the best out of it.

    • @ALyub-dl6do
      @ALyub-dl6do 8 лет назад

      Yes it's what I thought. It's just that I haven't found lots of expe, ambient and drone using the Circuit although the experience I've got with Novation synth engines demonstrated that those are deep and expressive instruments besides being plagued by horrible Novation trend to preset terrible patches (that was already the case on the Supernova). JUST ONE VERY LAST QUESTION, IF I MAY: what's your opinion about the on-board reverb?

    • @andypidcock
      @andypidcock  8 лет назад

      The circuit reverb is as you would expect - very usable but not as good as a dedicated reverb unit, however I think the delays are great. Good variety of long/short and multitap delays going on there and the delay time changes with the song tempo. Thx

    Excellent.
    The Erica Polivoks kit really has my attention. Very likely I'll have it.
    I've not seen the Novation Circuit before. What's your impression of it? It appears rather intuitive.

    • @andypidcock
      @andypidcock  8 лет назад +2

      Hi, Erica synths stuff is so well built - no cheap dials, switches or plastic here ! been using the Novation circuit since November and it is still my go to inspiration tool. I use many nice keyboards during the week but I think the circuit is such a musical piece of kit. The sequencer is as you say so intuitive to use and really powerful and I think it suits the whole eurorack thing really well. good luck, let me know how you get on.

  • @rubberduky1829
    @rubberduky1829 7 лет назад

    FANTASTIC Sir, I just bought my circuit 3 days ago and have figured most out including the isotonik editor, BUT...... I have a question if you can help : when using a pad sound that is long, how do I keep it from cutting off. I'm not real clear on how to do a pad sound that won't loop in just one bar, but rather carry on further down the bars. Any help is great .... ;)

    • @andypidcock
      @andypidcock  7 лет назад

      Hey Rubber duky, Hope you are enjoying your circuit. If you want a continuous pad or 'drone' sound it's not easy on the circuit. I either play the pad sound manually over the top of synth 1 and drums for example or set the decay quite long and this can give the impression of a continuous sound. I have also halved the tempo so at least you get two bars for the price of one which can sometimes help if the rest of your arrangement can allow for that - so instead of always starting your track at 120 bpm start creating your track at 60 bpm and get double the length if that makes sense ! cheers

      @WiredSpaceWizard 7 лет назад

      Take the number of your pattern steps from 16 down to 1 for a decent drone. I just figured that out last week.

      Sequence Circuit from another sequencer which has note ties, the one major flaw of Circuit is no note ties.

    amazing job, what power supply are you using for the rack?

    • @andypidcock
      @andypidcock  8 лет назад

      hey, the power supply for the rack is the intellijel TPS30w MAx with a 40 w power supply. it is the one that comes with the intellijel 4u cases and they are proper power supplies ! here ; intellijel.com/4u-cases/

    When Circuit is sequencing module how does playing, same synth, pads affect the module? For example with a polyphonic patch, so the sequence is single notes but then you add pad notes, does the module take the highest note only?

    • @andypidcock
      @andypidcock  7 лет назад +1

      Hey there, Ok lot's of good questions ! So a poly sound from the circuit will trigger slightly 'random' note priority going to the module, as far as I can tell it doesnt do highest note priority so can be random - which is musically interesting. Yes you can mute(or turn down) the circuit sounds and still play the Erebus from the pads or sequence. hope that helps

    hi, I am about to dip my feet into modular. want to use the circuit as the brain of the operation, is it easy to integrate?

    • @andypidcock
      @andypidcock  7 лет назад +2

      Hey steve, I think the the circuit is ideal for using with eurorack. It does so much so well and not much financial outlay too. Do you currently have a circuit ? if so adding little bits of eurorack slowly will help you understand the workflow better and take your time cos you may think you know what modules you want now but I would just add a little at a time then as your understanding becomes more you can add something that maybe you hadn't realised you needed. Hope that helps and Good luck, it is a never ending journey on this eurorack train !

    • @steveoath
      @steveoath 7 лет назад

      cool. I have the circuit, and I love it. I sold my op1 and got the circuit along with Roland's system 1m. so they work well just over midi. the Roland has got me interested further in modular! using circuit looks great for performing, which is what I am aiming for.

    • @andypidcock
