    Great video. Easy to comprehend. Very useful info for since I am doing a swap that requires a new two piece shaft.

    Yo, I came by the other day for the SR5 axles! Thanks for the vid. Makes me really consider going the 1 piece route

      Far less NVH with a 2 piece which is why I always recommend them for a street car. But for a track only car, 1 piece is good option.

    Great video as always. I replaced my original 2 piece with a 1 piece, and changed the diff angle using your "equal but opposite" technique. I am racing it this weekend. If I have a significant vibration, I may have to reinstall the 2 piece again. But I don't remember the original angle (I moved it with adjustable 4 links). So, if I understand you correctly, if I get front shaft to be same as the trans output shaft angle, I just match that with the differential by adjusting the 4 link again, correct?

    I just bought a brown TE72 wagon and had a engine and trans installed. Still gotta wire it but I was told it has a 2 piece drive shaft. Could you show the engine bay and the wiring please?

      I have the exact same car. Check out my video series on it: ruclips.net/p/PLWD_nkVFKkaPGTNkmX3sYYO1IPI4JjfgP&fbclid=IwAR1e0osEif_p4JGV0ua3X0oyl4D6OQ-bETptnWk2gt1bfDkE3CKFDXxG6GI

    Hey Ezekiel! Great video on a confusing topic. Getting the driveshaft operating angles correct to cancel harmonics and extend the life of your drivetrain makes a great difference to the comfort of the car and its reliability. It gets really important when you swap in a different engine/transmission into the AE86 and the transmission output height changes, as the OE center carrier is limited in height adjustment. Anyways, Spicer makes the best guide on understanding driveshaft vibration and setup. Helped me out a ton, so here it is for everyone to enjoy: www.waterousco.com/media/pdfs/J3311-1-DSSP.pdf

      Thanks for the kind words and support Lloyd. 100% agree. Ive seen many seal failures, gear whine, and rapidly worn parts due to incorrect driveline angles.

    What about horizontal angles? Wouldent those have the same affect of vertical pinion angles? How do yoy measure or adjust the horizontal angles?

    So even with an oem 2 piece drive shaft a lowered solid axle car will need the pinion angle reset? I've bugged you a couple times regarding this topic 😂

    • @CMAutohaus
      @CMAutohaus  3 года назад

      Yes even with an oem driveshaft a lowered car should at least have the pinion angle checked. The oem driveshaft rear section is a very good damper which is why most people dont feel a noticeable vibration.

    Also, where did you get that rear transmission support bracket shown is this video?

    Question- As I understand these angle measurements, degrees down measurements means that the component is "sloped" down related to the rear of the vehicle, correct? So when you measure the angle of the pinion, you are AT the rear of the vehicle when you take the measurement, so is that still the case? In other words, is it still supposed to be UP or DOWN on the measuring device?

    What marker brand do you use to mark your bolts?

      Any oil based paint pen from the crafts store. I currently have an enamel one (by accident) that is terrible.

    Does lowering your engine affect the transmission angle enough to cause issues?
