Kiora from nz. It is interesting to note that many of these designs are almost identical to our taniko designs. We try to maintain our natural dyes by utilising different parts of plants. Thank you for sharing.
You can have no connection. Dine learned weaving from their neighbors and former enemies Pueblo indians. Before that (17 century) Dine had no idea about weawing. The weaving in pecolumbian times was done using cotton, and only later when natives adopted sheep from Europeans, they started to use sheep wool.
You seem somewhat knowledgeable about the Yei rugs,I have one, that my Mom bought in the'80's for $850.00, it's in great condition, closet kept do you 5x5 ft in size Female square heads. Do you think the price might've gone up or down,on these types of textiles? Thx

Strange, but we have almost same rugs(kilim) here in BulgAria.
I guess Ancient connections!
Beautiful. Thank you 💖
I love them
So any Navajo rugs have full fringe at both corners? No cotton batting on other sides of rug either..
Here in BulgAria we have the same style patterns, we call it 'kilim', i guess we have some ancient connection!

I have some Navaho rugs to sell, one Persian. All Antiques.
Very informative, but Yei and Yei B'Chai are two different styles of Navajo rugs. What you have there is a Yei, not a Yei B'Chai.
