@gffhui Thanks for asking! Wirefly ships the full retail package, in the standard retail packaging. We usually open the box and pop the battery into the phone to be sure everything is working, just as would happen if you bought the phone in a store. If you watched this video, you'll see that the Evo's packaging is a little unusual, and that's what you will receive. Wirefly
@TimeKiller515 The HTC EVO 4G for Sprint does not have a SIM slot. It does not use a SIM card -- the phone number is programmed into it by Sprint. Bob at Wirefly
@macadc1 There is a white version of the HTC EVO 4G. It's always best to check with Wirefly to see if a particular version is still in stock. The white EVO 4G looks pretty good, I think. Bob at Wirefly
@jtag18 Thank you for considering Wirefly for this! Wirefly has a minimum age limit of 18 for purchasing a phone and contracting for cellular service. It's the cellular contract that rules this requirement -- you can't legally enter into a contract until you are 18. To complete this purchase, you'll need to have a parent or guardian do it for you. Thanks... and good luck! Bob at Wirefly
@jtag18 Yes, I think the EVO 4G stilll comes in the packaging you saw in this video. And I think Sprint no longer breaks out the 4G cost as a separate $10... everyone now pays the same price, regardless of whether it is 3G or 4G. I think. Bob at Wirefly
Dear Wirefly, You many want to amend the description because you said (in the video) that the $10/month charge is for 4G. It is technically called a Premium Data charge (although at the time it only applied to 4G products). I still know people who call it a 4G charge, but that's a misnomer. It now applies to all smartphones regardless if they can use 4G. Of course you know this, but lots of people might not, so I wanted to point it out. That's all :D
@rocco5588 This video was made 10 months ago and the guy who made it (Ari) is no longer here at Wirefly. If you watch the video, you see that he had a black EVO 4G. I got a different EVO 4G three months ago, and that phone is white. The HTC EVO 4G comes in both black and white. Bob at Wirefly
@lanceglock45 Yes. The microSD slot in the Evo is hard to get to -- it's under the battery in one corner, and it's held in by an annoying latch. But it does have a microSD card and it can be swapped with a little patience. Wirefly
@MakhayahJudah The version of Android that comes in a new EVO 4G today is updated from the version first sold a year ago. It is still not the latest version of Android (2.3.5), but it will be updated from the year-old version. At least it is in phones sold by Wirefly. Bob at Wirefly
@monkeyboi71121 The EVO Shift has a physical keyboard. The EVO 4G does not have a physical keyboard, but it has a bigger display, a front-facing camera and a kickstand. I can't tell you what will work better for you, but those are the biggest differences. Bob at Wirefly
@wirefly I also heard they won't release one this year because they just don't want to let out a newer version right after millions of people just bought the
I have seriously fallen in love with this phone. All the anticipation.... It sure better stand up to the hype! Evo winners blogs start today. Real people reviews...
@BlakeStanleySCOOTS I don't think Australia has WiMax technology, which is what the EVO 4G uses for 4G. You should ask your local carriers to be sure. Bob at Wirefly
@Iloverrb Those cables are very common, and you can get one online for a couple dollars. Places like Walmart, Radio Shack and Best Buy have them, as well. Bob at Wirefly
@waffle615 Do you mean "Is it for Verizon?" No, the Evo 4G is on Sprint and it uses Sprint's WiMax 4G network. The closest Verizon has to the Evo 4G is the Droid X, which uses a similar 4.3-inch screen. (The Evo 4G is made by HTC and the Droid X is made by Motorola.) Verizon is just starting to roll out its LTE 4G network and has no 4G phones yet. The Droid X is a 3G phone that uses CDMA technology. Hope that helps! Wirefly
@bwefan097 I personally like the EVO 4G but both are really fine phones. Keep in mind that there will probably be new versions of both those phones in two or three months. Bob at Wirefly
Hi loverbackgirl, If memory serves me right, the EVO 4G used Sprints WiMAX 4G network. The Sprint WiMAX network did not require a sim card to connect, so I do not believe the HTC EVO 4G has a sim card slot. -Scott at Wirefly
@bluelaserwaves Yes, I get paid for this, and reviewing phones is the biggest part of my job. I do want to point out that the guy who made this video (Ari) is no longer at Wirefly. He left several months ago to take a job in Chicago. We think he did an excellent job at Wirefly and I got to meet him once when he came back for a visit. Bob at Wirefly
@element031 Wirefly has had the EVO 4G for free with a new contract, but I don't know the price at the moment. It just takes a moment to check the price on Wirefly, and you might be surprised. Bob at Wirefly
@shutupjonae69 On the HTC EVO 4G, the buttons (back, home, menu and search) are actual buttons and not part of the screen. They are touch-sensitive capacitive buttons, not actual physical buttons that must be pressed. (Some Android phones have actual physical buttons, but not the EVO 4G or the new EVO 3D. Bob at Wirefly
I have a Blackberry Tour 9630, I'm getting the Evo in March. Is there any way that I can put all my contacts on my SD card nd transfer them to the Evo?
@haydon70 I don't think it gets dirty easy, but it definitely shows dirt much more than the black one does. If you get it dirty, it will show. Bob at Wirefly
@kickiniitbak but at the sprint store he said you can get your full upgrade in october, oh and the bills, always paid on time, and 2 years my contract will be up, so its like you have to renew the contract...
@lanceglock45 I don't know if you can transfer from one microSD card to another using only the phone. But you can certainly do it using a computer. Wirefly
@SuperHellogoodbye22 Me personally? The EVO 4G. That said, the HD7 and Windows Phone 7 are both very nice. My biggest gripe with using WP7 is being forced to use Zune to get photos/videos off WP7 devices. I'd MUCH rather drag-and-drop. Other than that, WP7 is a beautiful and elegant operating system, especially if you just want to use your phone and not disassemble it. Bob at Wirefly
@wirefly I don't know if this is true but I heard the iPhone will NOT have a new version this year because Apple can't come up with many new features to put on it and they don't want to release a new version 4 months after people just bought the a new iPhone on Verizon.
@haydon70 We love the HTC EVO 4G at Wirefly, but there's no getting around the fact that it uses year-old technology. The EVO 4G is still a fine phone, but it will not be as powerful as phones being released today. That's just the way the world goes. Bob at Wirefly
@haydon70 The EVO 4G is definitely a step up from the LG Optimus S. It's a fair bit bigger than the Optimus S, so you might want to handle it before you buy. Bob at Wirefly
@breland79 The Sprint Store should be able to transfer all of your contact from your old phone to the Evo. That's what they did for me. I had a Nokia E71 and they have a machine that takes almost any phone and transfers contacts to a new Sprint phone.
I had the droid eris and I hated the home buttons and those things because it was like touch screen. Is the back, home (etc.) actual buttons or is touch screen? Sorry if this doesn't make since lol idk how to explain it.
@speacialperson12345 You are exactly in the ballpark. That is if you are up for your FULL upgrade. Mine's came up to like $240 but that's because I bought a protective case, and you should too. you don't need a screen protector since the screen is scratch resistant anyways so just a case. It should be around like $220 with tax and everything if your just getting the phone itself.
@kickiniitbak how long till a full upgrade, a year? bc thts what im at...and thts what the guy at the SPrint store i went to said, that i was good for the upgrade in October.
@kickiniitbak thanks, how much was yours? im gonna have to wait like a week until i get my full upgrade, im expecting to pay like $200 with the rebate and upgrade...am i in the ballpark?
plz respond back do u guyz think i should wait for an upgarde wich is in october to get the phone or should i just buy the orignal price wich is like 450.
@SuperHellogoodbye22 The HTC HD2 runs the old Windows Mobile OS, that has been replaced by the completely different Windows Phone 7 OS. Therefore, the OS on the HD2 is at the end of its life and won't get good support. The HTC EVO 4G runs the Android OS, which will have MUCH better support than Windows Mobile. If your choice is between the HD2 and the EVO 4G, I'd go with the EVO for the Android OS. Bob at Wirefly
Man vs Packaging, stay tuned for the next episode, where we introduce a person strong enough not to strain himself every time he has to open something.
@rockxcore1 You can get anything if you're willing to pay for it. You won't be able to swap a scuffed phone for a new one without paying something. And Wirefly doesn't have a trade-in program, so there's no way for Wirefly to handle such a transaction. Bob at Wirefly
to be honest ever since I got the evo 4g on birthday 2 years ago its an ok phone in my opinion battery dries up really fast and disappointed that this phone wont get the ICS update :(
@speacialperson12345 No a full upgrade is a 2 year upgrade. Unless you are a sprint premier customer. Check to see if you are a sprint premier customer. You can only become a premier customer if you pay every bill on time. If you are a premier customer you get a full upgrade every year. One year upgrade is not a full upgrade.
@TheShydiva Sorry, you will have to go to Wirefly (dot) com and check. If I put a price here, it will be obsolete in a few weeks and just cause confusion. Bob at Wirefly
I own this phone and it really is an amazing phone. The 4.3 inch screen is a must for future phones IMO.

Possibly. However, Boost does not have 4G, so you can't get 4G with Boost. The EVO 4G flashed to Boost will be 3G only.

@tr3ffpunkt
They come with the 8g preinstalled.

i want my evo but it went out of stock in all my local stores and it sold out online 2 times already
This is the phone I saw when I first fell in love with smartphones!
do you think this device would function in europe
@kickiniitbak cool, thanks, do you know if i can use my upgrade there? bc i got a full upgrade in october.

@reviewthis1 You can video chat with people on computers?
@kwiz101 if there is noo 4G..it will use 3G network or GSM
@bobfreeman814 The super phone or the stealing part?
I had the droid eris and I hated the home buttons and those things because it was like touch screen. Is the back, home (etc.) actual buttons or is touch screen? Sorry if this doesn't make since lol idk how to explain it.
I'm due for an upgrade on April should i renew my contract with the Evo? I'm coming from the Samsung Moment.
@89Poptarts its the best phone screen out there jus tbuy a protection plan for 30 and a strong screen protectr for 30
Hi,
This charger works with the "BF5X" battery? (MOTOROLA DROID 3)
@mrwright 909 Ive had it since february 10th and it still runs fine

@TheSnakelover123 Yes, definitely.
Bob at Wirefly

i just bought the HTC Desire but this phone looks great also.If only they had it in Europe.......
@copp88 I'm pretty sure his mom still loves him.

i hate how Evo doesent come with headphones or anyhting special :/
Verizon iPhone. I personally would get mad if they just released a newer version of an awesome phone that I wouldn't be able to get.
