I have watched other videos and quite often the speaker seems to think he needs to tell you what he is going to do. Never mind telling me what you’re going to do do it. I enjoyed this video it was very helpful. Other people could follow your example. Well done.
Thanks for the details and closeup shots of this process. I feel it's the most thorough video on youtube regarding the installation of a fish finder / Transducer. Excellent Job!!
Great video! Picking up my 2019 Outback today also my first Hobie ever. This video cleared up a specific question I had is what I would need to get from the store if I'm pulling my hook 4 off my old kayak. Huge thank you. Video was perfect outside of going vertical at the end.
@@WesternWild509 Actually did have one question. What is the mount setup you are using ? Would be perfect so i dont have to take the base off my other yak.
This is the most in depth look I’ve seen. I watched the whole thing & I don’t even have a Hobie! But I think you finally convinced me that I need to buy one: these systems are so incredibly well thought out and give a beautifully CLEAN and organized installation. As far as feedback: your video was great! You give clear instructions and the video quality was good; things are easy to see and follow. Just don’t forget when filming handheld from your phone to use landscape mode so the video fills the whole screen on playback!
For being new at it you did a fantastic job. I actually learned more form yours than many of the others out there. I do have a question. I have the identical kayak and year as you have. I find that in the hot sun especially, the cheap plastic slot tends to stretch and bend to allow any kind of mount, be it a rod holder or camera mount or in this case the mount for the fish finder to eventually just loosen up and fall out. I have lost two rods and rod holders already. Has this been a problem and if so what can you recommend? Thanks
Thanks for watching! I haven't done much research on the Li batteries so I can't say I'd recommend it or not. I'll tell you I'm a fan of always tinkering with stuff, try it and see if it works for you!
Good video thanks! Only pointers would be possibly watch camera angles when your hands are blocking what you're doing, move the camera or use a head strap or something, and avoid the vertical videos, otherwise great video, very helpful, thanks!
Could you give some information on the battery mount? Can you keep the front hatch bin in the kayak with the battery down there. There seems to be a mount that you put inside the kayak correct?
Brady Nichols yep I just used the Hobie battery holder that secures to the mast receiver inside the front hatch. I didn’t have the front hatch bin in my kayak but if you mount the battery low enough, I believe you can still have the front vin inside the hatch. I just used a big dry bag.
I went with the dune color for the outback mainly because it makes it visible to boats without being an obnoxious color like yellow or red. It's simple but also easy to see.
I've ordered one 2019 Outback!, I liked your video and thought it helpful, I'm gonna put side view fish Finder on it, i like hummingbird, Garmin, and lowrance! Not sure which one to buy! I took a class from Hummingbird but am wanting the one I can read easiest to read and navigate! I mostly fish smallies, large mouth, and Spotted bass! Any suggestions?
I've only used lowrance and garmin's systems and I personally prefer lowrance. The hook and elite series are excellent. Very simple to use and set up. Hope that helps! Good luck, enjoy your new Outback!

Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad it helped.
Hi. Just get my FF. 3 years after. The videis is simply excellent. Keep it up really helpful
Glad I could help!
I was gonna have the shop install my FF but this video will save me a lot of $ and I'm gonna do it myself. Thank you.
I'm glad to hear the video saved you some money!

Thank you, I appreciate that!
Great job brother! Keep ‘em coming. 👍🏻
I understood you well. I’m getting ready to install a fish finder in a K Pro Angler 14. Your instruction is greatly appreciated.
E. Caban Jr thanks for watching!

@@fishnewhere387 that's just the yakattack ram ball mount that mounts onto accessory rails rather than drilling into the hull
@@WesternWild509 Didnt know they made a ball to lowrance hook/elite bracket. Thats kickass. Thanks man!

Great video! I hope my new Outback get here next week.
Best Ive seen. Great Job
Fishing America thank you!
This is an awesome video man. I appreciate it. Would you recommend the lithium batteries now? I can’t decide if they’re worth the money or not.
Thanks for watching! I haven't done much research on the Li batteries so I can't say I'd recommend it or not. I'll tell you I'm a fan of always tinkering with stuff, try it and see if it works for you!
Where did you mount your battery ?
I mounted the battery in the bow hatch using a Hobie Battery Holder attached to the front sail mount post..thingy.
Nice job and a gentleman as well.
Thanks, Ken!
Nice job on the install. I'll be doing this over the weekend with a TotalScan transducer.
Thanks! I'll be doing a custom Seadek project this week as well.
Linked this video in my review of the kayak! Once again super helpful
Awesome, thanks for the support. I'll give your video a view.
What about battery , price , install, bracket, use time?

Great video. Thank you very much for helping us out!
Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for.
Great video! Super helpful
Great video man. Thanks for the guidance
sirtonnly2 thanks for watching, glad it helped
Thanks so much! Excellent video and VERY helpful!
Nice video! Well done.
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Great video! Waiting for my 2019 to coming so I can do the same install.
You'll love the kayak. Enjoy and thanks for watching!
Thank you the instructions.
Great step by step. Thanks!! Subscribed.
What kind of ram mount do you have there?
That's just the standard Yakattack Ram fishfinder mount with the ball and socket. The ball mounts into accessory rails rather than being drilled in.
Could you give some information on the battery mount? Can you keep the front hatch bin in the kayak with the battery down there. There seems to be a mount that you put inside the kayak correct?

wonderful job!!!!!!!!
Thanks. Great job. Why did you go white with the Outback.....Vince

Great vid you helped me heaps, cheers bro.
Excal Assassin I’m glad it helped! Cheers
Why do you not want the transducer touching the plate?
If your transducer is touching your plate, the vibration could trigger false readings
Thanks for tutorial this video is very good

So you mount the transducer inside? Does it affect the readings?
Yep, the transducer sits protected inside the hull. It doesn't affect readings as long as it sits parallel to the plate. Pretty slick design!
Great video. Thank you!
Amazing video!!!!! Helped so much!
What if you got a Garmin Striker Plus 4 will it fit inside the transducer hole?
Oh yeah !
Thank you ^!^
Nice video thx for your help
quite good thanks
Nice job!
