Overall, that was an excellent audition. You play the excerpts pretty well for someone so young. One thing to highly consider is to focus more on cymbals. crash cymbals are a very underrated instrument in percussion and orchestra. As high school percussionists, we never realize how good we can sound on that instrument. Working more on basic fundamentals like sound quality and refreshing technique will make your audition superb. You are already very versatile on marimba, snare, and timpani. Now you just need to fill in that gap between those instruments and auxiliary. You will get much better results in your auditions if you work on the little things. Keep up the good work!
