    The best demonstration of a pickup I've ever heard. You put it all into context of the music. Excellent stuff. Man - what a versatile pickup!

    I put one of these in my strat and i thought it was awfully dark sounding. It was wired to the tone control. I've heard that this pickup is better traditionally wired without tone control. I may need to give it a shot again.

    • @GuitarSoundLab
      @GuitarSoundLab  Год назад

      Mine is traditionally wired, I think that it is the best bridge single coil pickup! Its tone is too much punched on high tone frequencies, it's enough to decrease the tone knob at 7 or 8 to make it darker

      Many thanks for the appreciation my friend! I've never tested the SSL-3 on the bridge, I think that in comparison to SSL-5 it has less output. Great sounding tones but mostly quite different from what I'm hearing from my SSL-5 experience. I find it to be very mid focused, almost to a fault, unless you are specifically looking for that Gilmour tone that it does very well. I would have to really crank the treble on my amps to get anywhere near some of your examples.

    How’s the noise/hum compared to stock pickups?

    • @GuitarSoundLab
      @GuitarSoundLab  3 года назад +1

      They are a little bit higher compared to the stock pickups, but not so critical. The output is higher, above all middle and high frequencies, I solve this by setting tone knob at 8 or 9 playing crunch and lead tones
