Fantastic video, friend! We just finished Ponca to Buffalo City. It was incredible! I live in N. Alabama. I haven't paddled in GA yet, but looking forward to checking out some more of your videos. Dan 👍🛶
Thank you Dan! I am sure it was incredible to paddle from Ponca to Buffalo City in one go, that sounds awesome. I can't wait to go back and paddle the first half, I only wish it was closer to GA.
I really really enjoyed this video!! Next week we're looking at doing the section from Ponca to Kyles Landing. Never been on the Buffalo River but your adventure is getting us really excited. Thank you :-)
Amazing video Ryan! Love the views of the cliffs and the elephant head rock looks so cool! Tristan did another outstanding job on the narration! Looks like a really fun trip! Well done!
Excellent video! We’re looking to do this type of trail soon on the Buffalo. What days were you on the River? I’ve heard a lot about it being busy during the summer, did you experience that at all or were your camps not near any of the weekender areas? Any other tips you can provide are greatly appreciated. We’re in the Atlanta area too 🛶
Thank you. We paddled the lower section which tends to see fewer paddlers than the upper. We also paddled Sun-Friday which I am sure helped. We saw very few people and never had trouble finding a campsite. This may seem insignificant but the only thing I would have changed is to have enclosed water shoes instead of a sandal type shoe like a Teva. So many little rocks got stuck between the soles of our feet and sandals walking along the river. Have a great trip!
What a great video and adventure!! We made the float from Rush to Shipps last Oct and we're currently gearing up for a redo this fall. Such a magical place! Keep up the great work!
over the years living in AR I'm pretty sure I have floated every section of the buffalo, except Rush to Buffalo city. Hopefully I can put together a crew to make it happen this year.
It's a beautiful river but if this trip as last summer you spent as much time out o the water walking your canoes over the low water shallows as you did riding in the canoes.
Thank you Robert. Going into the trip we knew all of the basics, including our planned daily mileage goals, but we didn't know exactly where we would be camping each night. Once we hit our mileage goal for the day we would simply start looking for a great place to camp. We used the GaiaGPS app on our phones to determine mileage. There are tons of great spots along the river! All of the rock jumps were discovered as we paddled and were then carefully scouted before anyone made the leap.
Best video I’ve seen about canoeing the Buffalo river. Well done!
Thank you!!
Great work, and the Daniel Johnston song was a nice touch 👍🏻
Thank you Ethan
Great shots. Captured the buffalo and its essence nicely.
Thanks William, I appreciate the comment.

The Buffalo did not disappoint. You always have a spot on the roster when you are ready to (temporarily) trade in the golf clubs for a paddle.
Really well done video. One of the best trip logs I've seen of the Buffalo.
Thank you

I am new here to AR, and this is awesome. How did you know the spots to stop and those places to swim and rock jump?

How many miles approx did you paddle each day
On average we paddled about 15 miles per day.
Constantly amazed at how few people wear a pfd.
An outfitter tale your vehicle to other end solves problems of that just as long as they don't beat the shit out of your car 😂
very true^
im curious how much they charged to drop your cars off at the take out spot? i have old beat up car anyway.. @@subproject43
