4’11 anyone? 😭
My little daughter
Me ❤️
Yess me 😢😢😭😭
Me :(
Here :)
1. No low-waist bottoms
2. No oversized bags
3. No loose on loose
Bonus tip: get a tailor
Finally, like her video ‘coz it’s awesome!
Thank you!
About the third tip, I agree with it in general but I'm pretty thin and can look kinda lanky so sometimes, very occasionally, loose on loose works for me.
Ahhhhaaa ok 💢💥
Thanks
I live in New York City. I need an oversized bag. Small purses can't fit everything I need for a day. This is not a practical rule for people who don't have cars to carry their belongings in.
Yes! I started buying high waisted everything this year. I’m never going back lol.
Same here🙋♀🙋♀🙋♀😊😊😊
I look like Obelix in high waisted
Angelica C ADHD saver 😂
I bought one by chance and why I saw the difference I was speechless. Never going back either
@@michacezary8022 It only looks good on long torso's. I'm petite and all legs so low rise looks much better on me.
Noted! Only petite can fully understand a petite 😁
HAHAH!!! "I don't think those people love you like I love you" I adore you so much!!!!
❤❤❤
I love her too 🌞🌹❤
Love her. 🤍✨
I started a neutral wardrobe after seeing your videos for a long time. I feel more classy now when I got to school! Thanks so much for your advice!
Hey friend, so happy you're loving your wardrobe more!
Do you have an IG that you posts your outfit of the day?
I am just shy of 5'2" and very petite. I can't tell you how thankful I am for this video. My whole life I have always gotten comments and how easy it would be for someone else to shop for my body not realizing how hard it is to shop for an adult petite woman
I'm just 4'9" people always mistaken me as 16 years old.
5‘2 is ideal height for women unless U want to be model or actress. When u grow old u will see the benefits
@@pearly_cielz2642 same I’m 4’9 and I’m a junior and people think I’m in middle school
Im 5'2" as well. Things that fit the length never match the width. Either too loose or too tight.
I'm only 5' and I've lower belly fat, Everytime I try high waisted pants I feel my lowerbelly Pops up!! Anyone feel like me?
I stand 4'11". Buying bottoms is always a challenge coz I have slightly thick thighs.
Yes ! My mom belly is like "helloooo there" I rather use high waisted skirts that are loose to hide it
yeah i’m 5’ too and it’s very hard finding pants for my bigger thighs that still fit my smaller frame overall.
sameeee! 🙋🤔
I feel you, me too a mother of two and the lower tummy where the babies....high waisted is great but this reason when had this issues is hard to cover up the reality, I really need diet?!

Yes! Low rise jeans are no one’s friend! Unless you’re super into your underwear showing every time you sit down or bend over. Fooled me once, low rise jeans, but you won’t get me again.
The only person who is still in love with low rise is Britney Spears 🤣🤣
If you have narrow hips low rise jeans are the best.
Gabriel le -I’m glad they work for some ladies! I think they’re so bad on us wider hipped ladies that we can’t imagine them working on anyone else. But of course do!
Looks like you have been through some shit
Hahaha🤣🤣🤣
Your hair and makeup looks so fresh today. Always appreciate your new videos :)
gah i love your style! i'm only 153cm tall and i agree with all of your tips, especially the first one (can't live without my high-rise jeans 😂)
i'd love to see you explaining more about flattering necklines for us petites, people don't really talk about them!
Beth you really changed my take on fashion and your videos actually encouraged me to start taking fashion designing courses .. my wardrobe feels whole and i always feel like i have everything already when i go shopping even if i’m not but my wardrobe feels complete
I really like your channel. You’re the only fashion Chanel I’ve watched that’s NOT annoying. You’re clear, concise and no annoying talking straight to the point. Thank you.
Once again, because you explain WHY these “rules” work for you; the information is easily adapted to all body types. You are kindness and generosity personified! Thank you 🙏🏽
I’m 5’2” & I’m glad I know how to sew coz it’s difficult to find pants or skirts that’s fits my height 😂
How did you learn? I have this probes too and I want to sew for myself.
Im 4'9 🙃
Sama height, It is super hard to fine the right skirt
You called it a “short video” 😂 As someone who is 5’1 I really appreciate it. Wearing a heel is my secret weapon to looking taller but never anything too high... don’t want to look like I’m trying too hard! 😂
“Mary Poppins with back problems” ... sadly, this is so relatable 😭
Thanks Dearly. Great info, and your presentation was good. I like how you get to the point quickly. I am a 66 yr old petite who has, for years, struggled with avoiding fads and seasonal styles that are not flattering to my small frame. Yes, yes, yes! You are 100% correct about the large purses, baggy clothing (however, I avoid all baggy), etc..
If I may, I've noticed an ongoing habit/trend for several decades which people do, move their hands constantly while talking. Moving our hands at times during a conversation or presentation is useful in making a point. But, it is pleasing to the eye and less distracting when we calm our physical movements, for the most part, while talking.
You've got a great idea for your channel. I really like it. By the way, I am a tailor and appreciate your comments about tailors. You made very good astute points about how and why one should get to know a good tailor. Often, I have 'once in a while customers' (customers who have alterations or other types of sewing only once in a while) who do not want to take the needed time with me to insure a better end product. They are satisfied with, shall we say, 'just get it done quickly.' So, I try to satisfy with a quick fix for them. Customers really are always right. And I love my customers.
Great job! I'll be watching for more style tips from you.
Oh my God her voice her vocabulary her pronunciation soooooo clear,so crystal like i mean i have no words to describe how she sounds it’s sooooooo smooth and soothing to the ears. Does she sing as well if not she should. Love your voice ❤️👌🏼
And about the bonus tip:- that is what I do. I have few tailors I visit very often whenever I need to alter some of my outfits and they do it really good. My friends compliment me about the fitting and it seems like the outfits weren’t altered at all. 😊
Yes! I stopped buying low rise when I found out about high rise jeans! But with my short torso, I also realized having a super high rise jean isn’t good for me either so you’re correct: midrise is the way to go! ❤️
I feel that i my style have changed dramatically after i started watching you❤️ so grateful for sharing your passion/fashion with us!
I'm 155cm and have a similar build as you so your videos are really helpful! Thank you for helping me with my personal style journey!
I'm also 5'1" but I'm exactly the opposite of you -- I have an extremely short torso and relatively longer legs. So I tend to flip these rules on their head -- I like tailored tops that come to high hip, cropped tailored jackets, and low and mid-rise pants (but never high rise, since they'd go up to my chest!). I can never, ever buy "regular" sizes for tops, tees, jackets or dresses -- petite only. I can sometimes get away with regular length pants or skirts as long as I hem them a bit.
I think the key isn't to blindly follow "rules" for short women, but to figure out what works for your proportions and your body type.
I dress just like you. Jump suits too!
Your insta id?
Bethany! Please learn about kibbe body archetypes! This was the biggest change for me to learn how to style myself. Two girls of the same height and weight can look completely different in the same clothes. Differences in bone structure, soft vs sharp angularity, head vs. Body size proportions etc. play much a larger role in how good we look in clothes. It isn’t as simple as short vs. tall
Spot on
True.. knowing about Kibbe helps so much..
i think i have quite similar size and shape to bethany and i consider myself a soft natural! i think the softer looks with waist emphasis she wears works very well for this body type
Good tips. I am 5’ 2” and I agree with everything you said!
You always crack me up! The purse thing seriously changed my style. It may be a full pursue but looks much more chic
This was the best little present to wake up to!!! Love your uploads 💖
I’m from Vietnam and I am struggling with finding shopping stores in Vietnam
Thanks and best wishes for you!
I recently discovered your channel and I love it ! Thanks for these tips ! I’m short and petite and could use these tips !
I just want to share this with you guys that is so not related. I was having a lot of insecurities and was feeling unworthy and sad. I watched a RUclips video from a beauty channel that made me look at myself and it made me realise that I need to invest back in myself. I took this and started to work on my eating and self care. This also included the stuff I listen to and now I am here. So when you are feeling down ask yourself what can you do for yourself today. Maybe it is taking a shower or learning how to walk feminine etc. This helped me and that's why I watched this video because I want to look put together for when I meet my fiance this year.
Can you please make a video for your tips on how to organize a closet. Love your voice it’s so calming!
Yes! I stopped buying low rise when I found out about high rise jeans! But with my short torso, I also realized having a super high rise jean isn’t good for me either so you’re correct: midrise is the way to go! ❤️ Love your videos!
I just visited japan this summer and I was impressed of how well people dresses. The interesting thing is they don’t apply any of these rules and they still look amazing. Lose clothes were the norm for the most part and they still manage to look impecable amazing. I guess my point is as long as you feel like you are killing it probably you are. Nevertheless, thanks for the tips I do believe they are helpful in this side of the world. Love 💕
Bethany, I adore your videos. I find them calming and gently inspiring. A number of professional friends only wear leggings but find it hard styling them (especially around knowing what tops/shirts to wear with them, whether to tuck/untuck and most importantly which leggings outfits are suitable to wear out on a date or at the office.) We all love your videos and would love to see one on this topic x
I’ve said this a few times but I just wanna put it out there again; you are a genius I love these outfits
Much love Lauren!
Loved this! I live by these rules. I am 5'3" with shorter legs. High-waisted everything. Also, I do much prefer your shorter videos.
You are the coolest RUclipsr for these types of contents.
Yessss!! Everything here was relatable and absolutely true.
I‘m soo happy that I found u here on youtube, I‘m 158cm tall and all your tipps help me so so much!! Love your content & IG Profile 💓 and yeeesss I agree- ALL my jeans are high wasted 😅🙈 no other ones... xx 🌞 from Austria 🇦🇹
You're my best fashion icon ever!
I hadn’t tuned in for a bit and your looks fantastic. I love this length on you! Thank you for this short girl video. I’m 5’4 and short waisted/Lon legs. Sometimes high waisted items end up around my ribs. A real conundrum.
Same!
Luuuuv the hairrr 💕💕
Thanks for the tips. I'm 4'11 and I always try on outfits before I buy. I have slightly longer legs and look better in pants then long dresses.
u look so good on that outfit omg. that hat coat pants
Loved the Mary Poppins joke...that was brilliant just like all the suggestions
Thank you for all the best tips!😊
This is my first time tuning in to your video. You're so pretty and I love your personality and video editing aesthetic.
I have a short torso and relatively "long" legs for my 155cm but I still high-waist everything cause I think it makes me look way taller. And not so many people realise my ribcage basically touches my hips :x
Great tips, thank you for this video ! Take care ♥️
Me too! BUT hi waist pants are under my boobs! I despise them.
this is the reason i learn sewing. Now i can make pretty outfit that fit my small body. lol
Burda pattern books are so inspirational.
I'm 5'4" and have short legs, long torso, and also curvy. Yes more tips please. This was great! I need serious clothes help!!!!
Omg to all videos on RUclips that I watched about petite do's and don't this is my absolutely favorite ❤️❤️
So agree with these!! I've had similar experiences completely!! Loved it!
Very good!!! You address the problems in a correct way. There are so many stylists who dress, for example, overweight women in impossible combinations!!!
“I don’t think those people love you like I love you”

Right on, Bethany. Thank you for the "rules".
You look super polished!
Great tips!!!! First time watching and subscribe 🙂
Love high waisted jeans cause it keeps a fit tummy as well. ❤️
Great tips Bethany... And I love this crisp reminder format ... Thank you... And I agree with what you said about wearing mid rise...for a petite like me it totally makes sense.... And I discovered this option only recently....
Hi Bethany! Would you be able to do a video for chic petites on spring-summer holiday? Meaning we’d have to use sneakers, as well as sandals and boots that are made for walking all day - for the entire duration of the trip 🙏☺️
I'm just 4'9" and I do agree with the high waist. It really works with me for I have short legs and normal torso.
Nice video! Didn't know about that bag size hack! Great to know!
Hi, Bethany! Great tips, thank you. I have similar proportions to you, and it has been hard to find a style (and brands) that actually have what I wanted. I loved the video you made about everlane, and I went ahead with those purchases to try it. I have never been more satisfied. Love seeing the outfits you put together! I look forward to all the Fall videos! I'm so excited :D Have a good one.
I hope you get to film your silk clothing-related video soon! (:
Found what I have been looking for. For a long torso and shorter legs❤️❤️
Can you do a video "must have outfits" and the top websites for buying clothes. Thank you ❤
I’m so thankful for high waisted jeans! Now I love the mom jeans, not straight nor extra slim. Proportions my top heavy.
I agree with all your suggestions. These are things I have been gravitating towards by trial and error. Would be great if you could also share your insight regarding accessories like hats, scarves, jewelry, and about prints too.
“Mary Poppins with back problems” is a mooooood 😂 love this video!
New subscriber here :)
High waist 4ever, seriously it's the best thing. It looks amazing and it's comfy at the same time.
Love your energy. Thank you so much for sharing!
Good tips! Im short, and am always ready with needle and thread or my friend, the Brothers sewing machine. I find a garment often needs a nip, tuck or tweak; actually, sometimes a big top works with relaxed jeans if the proportion is correct. At 80 yrs, i guess Im “old school,” because I always carry a good-sized tote!
"I don't think those people love you like I I love you." Haha well said. 😄👍
Your style is really classy!! I love it onestly especially for autumn/winter looks.. in the summer I am a bit of a gipsy 😂😜
Reallyy cool tips 😍
156 cm tall, I've long legs and a normal sized torso, I honestly prefer high waisted because of where my waist line is and I love your videos, Zack is a great editor. I'll keep watching because you're classy.
You don't know how happy my petite self was to have found this channel. Thank you for sharing.
Zorini Lungtau same!! I struggle so hard haha
Marry Poppins with a back problem! That crack me up!
You look particularly gorgeous today. ❤️ thanks for the tips as always!
Although I'm sure I may be a bit older than you (I just turned 42 😔) I am super excited I stumbled upon your video! I'm 4'11, with a double whammy...short torso AND short legs. I'll be checking out some more of your videos and thanks for sharing from one fellow short lady to another, I truly appreciate it!
Devon Gillespie Wish I had someone like her years ago. I am 4”11”, 80 years old. Now overweight. Get depressed everyday just getting dressed.
Mary Poppins with back problems 😂 I'm an artist too so I know the feeling... I often lug around my art supplies just in case I get some time to draw throughout the day.
Thankyou so much for these tips. Bev X
Love this! Honestly thought the bonus tip would be tuck in your shirt!! I guess it is covered in all the other videos anyway haha :P
I watch all of your videos for vertically challenged ladies even though I'm 5'7 because ily sm ❤️
I'm 5'6 a classy type by Kibbe test. So my legs are longer than my torso but when I wear a low-rise pants my legs look kinda short..so I think it's not only for short girls, this advice would be suitable for different body types. 🌹
Yes yes yes thank you!!! Love these videos so much, I can totally relate because I am short as well and always struggle with style that suits me best. Also I cannot wear heals... another struggle.....thank you for sharing your tips with us! Lots of love from the tiny country Holland!
Thank you! your videos are always helpful
I had a great tailor, he always did such a great job on all my clothes and gave me discounts. I went to him for years. Until one day he confessed to me that he’s been in love with me all these years and wanted to date. I turned him down, apologised and never went back to his tailor shop again. I’m bummed out bc I lost a great tailor there...
Tragic
Hi, this is random but I think it would be okay to visit him back (maybe after months) because that will be enough for him to move on from you and to have the opportunity to have that friendship back once again 🤗❤️ This is just my opinion 😅
well that is definitely awkward
😭
Well...that was unexpected 🤭
The 1st and 3rd tip I do naturally so having that confirmation is super reassuring. The 2nd tip was very interesting. When I think on it more it makes sense, I love big bags for the praticality, but using it to hold a smaller bag to use when out, I will try that more. 😉 Love this to the point video, though I am a huge fan of your channel overall!😊 Have a great day! X
You are the first person whom i adore completely for your style. Really liked your work.
Second i wanted to request you to make something on hair looks which may enchance the overall personality of short heighted people.
Thanks Bethany!!
I started buying Hi-rise to super hi-rise jeans this year and I love them! I have a long torso short legs body type and years back it was so hard to find a hi-rise so most of my jeans are mid-rise but they are still low for me and now I hate all those pants that look and color wise I still love but now don't want to wear any longer as I have found something that fits much better! I love how long supper hi-rise pants make my legs look!!!
I'm 1.64 but my body shape is similar to yours
im loving your videos
I'm a 4"11 and you help me with your fashioooon advices! 😊
I'm 1,54m and it's rly a problem for my self-confidence, I always think no one takes me seriously bc im smaller than kids and thus look like a kid etc. Recently Im trying to dress more fashionable and appropriate to my size which does help for Building and stabilising confidence. Thank you for the Tips.
I find it refreshing that u speak about “showing skin” to balance out loose clothing. I’ve always done this subconsciously, & it’s true - showing skin or opting for tighter fit is necessary to balance out oversized/ loose pieces. It’s hard to pull of the “head to toe sack” look unless ur tall+slender. & honestly it’s there are much better ways to dress by embracing our femininity & showing off feminine features like shoulders, waist, even wrists & angles.
Great information & many of the tips I already follow! Thank you
“i dont think those people love you like i love you” 😂😂😂 bethany you are so quietly funny!
Your skincare routine!!please you glowin'
Your voice so cute.
True for many body types. Thank you.
