I am looking to convert my Disco 1 300tdi into a bit of an off road toy. What upgrades have you done to yours? I can see a suspension lift and tyres, what are they if you don't mind me asking? Cheers
If you are talking about the black disco going up the ramp at the start of the video with spotlights on the roof and front bumper, it has had a 2 inch suspension lift, the wheels are 16 inch and the tyres are LT245/75R16 GT Adventuro Mud Terrain!
Daniel Daly I don't know too much about the Disco II, but the Disco I only has a center diff lock. I *think* the Disco II has only a center diff lock too, but not 100% sure. And yes - there is an option for front and rear - you can buy and fit them to front and rear if you like!
Just bought a 99 Disco is great shape. Turning it into a bug out rig I can also drive daily. Any suggestions on a few mandatory upgrades I should get. Already looking into getting a grille gaurd and the like. Thanks.
In terms of upgrades, you could get slightly higher suspension, bigger tyres, metal front and rear bumpers, diff-lock guards, steering guards (which goes under the front of the car), a winch, metal steps which go on each side, and you could also get Waxoyl, or you could go to Rustmaster to get them to waxoyl it as well... not sure of any other upgrades...! :-)
Get offroading lights from Land Rover. Like 500 bucks. Very nice upgrade. Other than that just get a lift, tires, winch, lockers, don't need too much more than that.
Scott Brixey Actually, I do already have off-roading lights... I have two normal headlights, but I also have 4 lights at the top, and 2 large lights in front of the bonnet... :-)
I used to go off-roading and I love it but my dad sold his discovery for a pick up but hopefully when I get my first car in 3 years it will be a discovery or defender so I can start off-roading again. Great vid
Im 13 got enough money for maybe a cheap disco wondering if theres anywhere i could do a vit of off roading my parents own a small dirt track with a few pot holes outside our house but its only 1/4 mile

What size wheels and lift is on that black/blue disco at the start the one with the spotlights mounted on the roof and front bumper?

Very nice. But i noticed one thing. Do you not have front or rear locking diffs? Trust me they are more than worth it.
My Land Rover definitely does not have front and rear diff locks - it only has the standard center diff lock :-)
fishsponge Though so. Does the Disco I and Disco II only have the center diff locks or is their an option for front and rear?

Great video pal, looking at getting into off-roading. How much dies a day here cost?
I think it's about £20 per day...

NEW VIDEO!
Off Road 4x4 @ Yarwell Quarry Pay & Play Day, Land Rover Discovery (5 Jan 2014)
I see most arnt using diff lok any reason y??
maybe they're not using diff lock because they don't need it... or maybe they are (but it's only a centre diff on some vehicles)...
