@@ryanc5681 a local shop, owner was only able too get four of them. I've heard black dlc blade version is dropping right before Xmas. Protech is moving into a bigger facility.. that's the hold up on them.

Interestingly Watu also means people in Swahili! Thought that was kind of a weird name for a knife but now it certainly makes sense!

Sweet looking piece of pocket jewelry. Classy and light. Should be full carbon fibre handle. Women will be impressed by the sophistication of men who own such a functional art piece. ;)
I was cracking up during this review. Great job. Loved when you pretended to be sad about the lanyard or the blade hitting your finger when it closes.
The majority of the reviews seems to be a “soft pass” on this knife. The comment sections are also “pass” from bulk of audience. This knife is going to fade into obscurity because of its unique design and lack of sales, then in about 6-8 years, it will be become $800 collector item.
There is another knife I distinctly remember was going through the same exact reception years back. The Slysz Bowie.

Man, that cheap looking carbon fiber overlay really doesn't do the knife justice. It's the same reason why I haven't bought a Sage 5.... Just give me G10 or solid carbon fiber... I definitely prefer gentle curves to sharp angles.
I think the Sage 1 did the carbon fiber handle correctly with a CF handle not G10 laminate. I believe they’ve Discontinued it and did a CQI to make it G10 Laminate.
Sage 5 in solid G-10... take my money.
So many spydies I want this one is just not high on said list. 20cv blade helps bump it up a little more though.
That is one of the coolest things I have seen from Spyderco in a while, ugh but that pocket clip.
Check out lynchwood. They do deep carry titanium that use the wire mounting system
14:01 I just started adding one to my spydercos... not sure why they avoid them like the plague. The one I have sharpened looks a lot better with it than without it when it had the wonkieness.

I definitely get your argument about wanting it to be full carbon-fiber or full G10. But for me I really like the texture of the laminate compared to the capara which is very smooth

If you had to choose; Watu for $180 more or less or the Bugout in 20cv for $150?
