    The fuller is absolutely by design and serves a purpose. It was designed so that you can blow compressed air in the bearings. I read it somewhere on the description by Shirogorov.

      Good to know. Thanks!

    • @yankee2yankee216
      @yankee2yankee216 Год назад

      I don’t quite see how that would work! It doesn’t provide any more path to the bearings than no path at all. Usually there’s a tiny gap between the bearings and the handle or blade that you can get enough compressed air through to blow them out.

    You might say this in the review, but I can’t wait because it’s the first thing I saw on the knife. I love how the lines on the knife match up. The line on the blade matches up with the mini fuller (idk what to call it) . Even the bottom line on the handle matches the angle of the sharpening Choil....just wow!

    I’ve watched this like 5 times. That is absolutely, 100%, unequivocally the most beautiful and perfect knife I have ever seen. Ever. Like nothing else is close, and the few that can come close are mostly Shiros too. But yeah, this knife right here, this is it for me man. 👍🤩

      Like you, I watched this video several times. MC’s gushing enthusiasm about a knife is very convincing. So, I found one in like new condition on the secondary market and pulled the trigger. Now it’s my turn to gush. Zero regrets. It’s more amazing in hand! Grab if you can find one.

      @@tomwebster6747 Congrats man, you’ll have to live the Shiro dream for both of us. Even if my next door neighbor was selling one, it wouldn’t help me, because I couldn’t.. you know.. actually pay for it. Student loans.. 😔 “Money can’t buy happiness..” has been 100% mythbusted. One small, but cool, detail you missed. If you look at the back spacer you will see a slight space between both frames of the handle. They milled it to appear to have a 'floating' backspacer but if you take it down contact of the spacer is made within the blade. Very cool! love mine!

    The Quantum comes up often as a recommendation in the Shiro group im in. I do own 3 Shiros although older versions and am curious to experience a newer rendition of a Shiro. While i haven’t handled a Quantum it appears to be excellent and highly recommended by Shiro enthusiasts which is no surprise. Not sure about the fuller design que but maybe i just need to handle one and see. Great review!

    Yeah, there's a tool they sell for a whopping $200. Be careful with a flathead or it puts divots in the screws. Also something I didn't realize was the loose bearings. I took it apart to clean (probably sat in the KC warehouse too long and had old, thick oil) and ended up with bearings all over. Only lost one, haha. Still super smooth, though.

    Just got a f3 shirogorov ,not all shirogorov knives are created equal, take my advice, stay above the thousand dollar range in a shirogorov, the f3 would definitely be a decent user, if you are willing to pay 700 for a work knife.

    I own a Shirogorov Neon Zero, and it is Tony the Tiger Ggrrrreat! It really is an astounding piece of work, action only paralleled by a Holt Specter or Grimsmo. My only complaint was the pocket clip was so tight I had to do some work to make it work.

    I prefer a penny to adjust the pivot to an ill-fitting screwdriver. It is less likely to mar the pivot screw slot.

    I always thought that the innards, i.e. the steel for the liner and frame of a knife should be as good as the blade steel, albeit in different ways. The frame steel should, above all, be stainless! Few things are worse than a fine knife with excellent materials throughout, except, nobody thought about the liner, which is rusty. What are we supposed to do about THAT?

    One of my Grail knives. For a blade that size, I've never seen anythig as smooth! Does Shirogorov make a thumb-stud knife. I'm a flicker, not a flipper. LOL The detail is perfect! Even the back of the pocket clip is milled to flow with the rest of the pattern.
    I read somewhere, that the Russian Spetnaz (sp?) are issued this knife. Do you know if that's true?

    • @Stahlwerk88
      @Stahlwerk88 4 года назад +2

      I hiiiiighly doubt these are issued to Spetsnaz commandos. I’d wager they get a bayo for their AKM-pattern rifles and that’s it. If they bother issuing a folding knife I doubt it’s a midtech flipper running on bearings...
