Thank you MC!🙏😁. Very nice review 👌. On some versions, Herman places a screw securing the inlay on the inside of the knife. Then only the curved end of the screw is visible. Unfortunately, not all inlays materials allow this.😅
Herman Knives in the $400-$800 range are a hell of a knife for the price. I love my Shiro but for the same price a Herman Knives offers a lot more. Not to mention free pivot tool vs a $300 pen/tool.
Compared to Shirogorov, these knives do feel like a bargain, even though the most recent batch saw a price increase. Nevertheless, still a fantastic value. I picked up this exact color but with the blue/purple clip and back spacer - the Slim 103. Hey MC, they're paying attention to your critiques, they rounded off the screw next to the pivot! Well done! ;-) Love you content. Keep up the great work. Received the Herman Slim 103 today. Took 3 days from Poland to SoCal via DHL Express Worldwide. On an $886 knife, the import duty was an additional $42. Not bad. Worth every penny! The knife has unfathomable beauty and precision. It's difficult to express. It's pocket jewelry -- platinum level. The sound is so unique and satisfying! Feels like the Shirogorov F95 in hand, but a little lighter and slimmer of course. Very similar action, but in a liner lock. Crazy, but I'm more impressed with the Herman Slim than the F95 and I didn't think that would be possible. I now understand how it's ranked #4 in MC's Greatest (Gut Instinct) Top 50 folders. Am absolutely smitten with this knife. Thanks MC for the great content and recommendations. I am so grateful for the insight MC and to own this fabulous knife. You never let the knife community down!
I am sorry to harp on this but I think it's important to note that the only difference between this version and the first one you looked at is the materials he uses. They are all made by hand by Mr. Herman using a lot of modern tech like CNC mills (which he programs himself so I feel like that counts as hand made). He uses essentially the same process to make each knife regardless of the materials other than things like flame coloring the Timascus or etching the damasteel/damacore (and he said the damacore/steel blades are harder to finish), and every knife is a unique combination of pivot, inlay and colors. Every knife is numbered. He makes them in small batches of 3-5 at a time. I've not seen any way to order specific details but I'm sure the folks at Polish Custom Knives could answer that. I own 2 of them, one Timascus version the other very similar to this knife; they are functionally identical and the quality is the same on both. My only complaint is that smoothly finished Ti like this (even with the machined waves) is pretty slick in the hand which makes me a bit reluctant to carry it because I know I will drop it at some point. The only other problem is since these knives have gotten coverage here and on other channels, their inventory has been seriously picked over, so you may have to wait a few weeks to get one.
I made it only 17 seconds into the vid before I rushed over to Polish Custom Knives. They are out. ☹ Additional: I need to check the website more often. I like the Ishtar more than the Slim, but as an overall value, this level of Slim seems to be amazing.
there are two on polishcustomknives right now. titanium inlay and the screw appears to come from the inside and looks domed off. maybe the CF inlay can't "take threads" to use that strategy so they have to mount it from the outside in
It has a very very, similar design to the LIBING RAPTOR. Which I bought on Ali Express, for $240. It also is a titanium linerlock but with carbon fiber on both sides and it has a Sv90 blade. The fit and finish is superb and the action is smooth as butter. Maybe one day you will review it. Thanks for your review of this beautiful Herman knife.
Watching this for the 3rd time after dropping 800 on my first Herman. Trying to validate the purchase hahaha I'm not sure if I'm just excited or also terrified. I'm excitified if you will.

Beautiful knife! Much bigger than I expected. Always appreciate the standard knife comparisons. Thanks MC!

The two screw tips next to the clip are for the locking tab which is a separate piece.
Right. I'm just sort of flustered by their positioning lol
new fav.; a beautiful piece of craftsmanship

Several new knives will be available next week.😅
@@polishcustomknives9753 - I have bookmarked and will look more frequently. $1000 is just out of my price range. But $500 or so? I can pull that off.
@@Abby_Normal_1969 Our Sygnathus Short version is little below $500 including shipping. Other basic models are below $700 including shipping 😉
One of the very few $600 knives that I would think about. Absolutely beautiful.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for when these come back around.
Regular stonewash is available
they’re the same for the most part. CF backspace, harpoon blade, it’s pretty
Wow that is a work of art. That sound it makes 😍
I like this one..need to get one, great vid thanks!!

Hmmm, Shirogorov-ish sorta!
Gorgeous, and that sounddddd
Damn nice blade. Herman does it right.
Very nice. I kinda want one now.
Thanks for showing us this beautiful tool MC. Will be checking out polish custom knives and sierra_bound
Quite impress, much beauty, very GOAT
I live in NYC the law here is under 4 inches so I can carry it ?
Such a nice blade
vs Shiro/Koenig/Holt/AD20/Hinderer/CRK comparo next? Nice review of Herman sir.
Can anyone tell me why polish custom knives list net and gross price? Is that how much the tax in poland is?
Heck yeah
I think I now know what you ordered for your custom that you hinted at last month. We could hear it in your voice on this video. 🥒⚔️
That’s a beautiful knife!
Great one for sure
Hello!
Hello 👋
It has a very very, similar design to the LIBING RAPTOR. Which I bought on Ali Express, for $240. It also is a titanium linerlock but with carbon fiber on both sides and it has a Sv90 blade.

25:49 You were dancing around just saying Biden was to blame for these inflated prices 👍
I feel the pieces without extravagant materials are appropriately priced but the shipping and taxes add a little unpleasantness.
Warning: shipping and import duties from Polish Custom Knives is expensive.
On an $887 Slim, the import duties cost $42. FYI.
Watching this for the 3rd time after dropping 800 on my first Herman. Trying to validate the purchase hahaha I'm not sure if I'm just excited or also terrified. I'm excitified if you will.
How’d it turn out? Worth it? Which did you get?
