Scott Rasmussen On The Latest 2024 Polling Numbers

  • Scott Rasmussen reports on the latest poll numbers a few days after VP Kamala Harris became the Democratic Presidential candidate. "Ignore the poll. Before the debate on June 27, the race between Trump and Biden was very close and Harris is starting in that same position. Very few voters know anything about VP Harris. Right now, this is like a blank slate."

So you’re good if Harris loses and Antifa storms the Capital and this time successfully stops the Constitutionally required counting of the electoral ballots and then Harris stays in the office?? As President with absolute immunity (thanks SCOTUS for returning us to a monarchy), Biden could then take executive action and declare Harris stay in office till the case of whether his actions were legal makes their way through the 3 year court process. Got it.

Very good discussion! We need people, voters and candidates, who will avoid talking about the horse race and simply articulate conservative principles. Don’t get me wrong. I like Trump. And he has changed the Republican Party forever. But I voted for DeSantis because he has Trump’s testicular fortitude while at the same time has the ability to articulate conservative principles and policies, illuminate the downsides of liberal policies, all with maintaining a smile on his face. We’re missing a great opportunity to grow the party. Also, outlets like Fox News almost never air thoughtful discussions on policy. Because of this, the average conservative voter can’t properly articulate conservative principles to younger voters. These new voters have been systematically filled with ideas from the left their entire lives, then all they get from older conservatives in their lives is what only seems to be hateful demagoguery that just serves to solidify what they’ve been taught in left leaning schools. Again, we’re missing opportunities to introduce truth into the lives of new voters. When you open someone’s mind to truth, not only do you gain a voter, that person also becomes aware of how they’ve been manipulated by the left.

DeSantis teamed up with the worst warmongers of the Bush Era and had horrible support and Nicki Haley the other forever war canidate had Big Dem Donors and what votes she got came from Democrats who had no primaries. Freedom, equality and self governance are essential, but preceding and underlying all of them is recognition and defense of inalienable self ownership. The entire moral and political edifice of America is built from the construct of self ownership. This is what the elites and all other collectivists reject, and it is what must be constantly explained and absolutely defended at every level. Those opposing or rejecting it must be marginalized or crushed.

I don't know enough about ALEC to know if I like this organization or not. But I know that I like socialism or at least some aspects of it. And I like capitalism, or at least some aspects of it.
But I wouldn't ever want Venezuelan styled socialism and I would never like Russian styled capitalism (fascism today). America has a hybrid system and we need a tug of war in politics to make sure we don't go too far left (communism and socialism) and that we don't go too far right (capitalism and fascism).
The goldilocks zone is a mixture of socialism and capitalism.

@MAGA_Hat_Stays_On if you support the military you support a very socialist organization. If you support public roads, public utilities, schools and libraries you support socialism. Same for the postal system, police, and fire departments.
If it is owned and operated by the government (the people) and it has a payroll, it's socialism.
We have seen a growth in capitalism in this country, not a decline. You have private companies replacing the military (Blackwater), replacing NASA (SpaceX), private universities competing with public universities, and even the mail (FedEx, UPS). In some cases it was done better and some cases worse, and in some places the two co-exist and compliment each other.
We have always had socialism in this country. We have also had private companies. Only recently were corporations declared "people" giving even greater power to private corporations.
The right claims the left are a bunch of socialists and commies. I suppose if you consider anyone who supports public schools and the military socialist then maybe we are all socialist. But I see no movement among liberals to act as barriers to private enterprise. As a centrist with some liberal views and a small business owner, I am all about living the American dream and a big part of that includes capitalism. Even those like Bernie Sanders who wear the "Democratic Socialist" badge with pride aren't talking about ending private industry. I literally know one communist when it comes to my social media friends. I suspect it's just a phase for him, and his biggest critics are usually liberals.
In short the right needs stop lying about all Democrats being socialists and communists. I'm not saying there are none, but they are few and far between. They are the exception not the rule in Democratic politics.
The bottom line is that the US is a hybrid of socialism and capitalism, but if you look at what policies both parties support neither party fits neatly into either category. There is strong support among both parties for what any outsider or academic would call a socialist institution.
The closest thing we have to socialism is probably the military. Everyone gets a standard paycheck, housing is provided, food at the galley or dining hall is free, and the healthcare is also free. Seems like textbook socialism to me. I was in the military and grew up on military bases my whole life - and fully support the military. If you asked anyone at a Trump rally what their favorite part of the government is, the vast majority would say the military. So maybe that makes Republicans very strong supporters of a socialist institution. They just haven't mentally connected those dots.

The most compelling message (selected by 61% of voters) is a pointed, populist economic argument focused on Harris as a champion of working families who supports reducing the federal deficit, an all-of-the-above approach to energy to lower gas prices, prosecuting price-gouging companies, and taking on Big Pharma by passing a law allowing Medicare to negotiate the prices of prescription drugs. Not only is this message the most persuasive to voters overall, it is also the most compelling to independent voters (61%), voters across all age ranges (61% among voters aged 18-44, 62% among those aged 45-64 and those 65+), both men (61%) and women (61%), non-college voters (64%), and Republicans (63%).
Notably, the most appealing message with Black voters (selected by 64%) frames Harris as a change candidate, tying her to popular Biden policies while contrasting her with both Biden and Trump as someone who can get America out of its current period of political dysfunction and make government work for regular people again. For Latino voters, the most persuasive message (selected by 66%) is one that focuses on Harris’s record of fighting for working families as Vice President, emphasizing her role in passing the American Rescue Plan, the Inflation Reduction Act, and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
For Democrats, the most persuasive message (selected by 62%) is one that talks about Harris’s fight to protect a woman’s right to choose, contrasting her work to expand access to reproductive healthcare with Republicans’ plans for a federal abortion ban. This is also the second-most popular pro-Harris message overall, a notable change from the unevenness of abortion messaging in Biden testing.

So Trump’s message? And by “popular Biden policies” you mean Trump policies?

@@MAGA_Hat_Stays_On Trump's central theme is grievance, retribution, and authoritarian intentions as evidenced by Project 2025 and his general egotistical rantings.

Ahh yes, so the average American doesn't know diddly squat about anything and still vote. What else is new
