When I had my Samoyeds I had to groom them at least twice a year, but in between you have to constantly brush out their coat. I usually did a full grooming once every 2 months. These dogs are cute, they have great personalities, but they are not an easy breed to own. I used to foster for them, and IF you're considering getting one of these, I strongly suggest you foster for them first to get an idea of how much work they are without committing to a lifetime. I thought I liked Huskies, until I fostered for them. I don't DISLIKE them, but living with one... There are better owners than me. I do like Samoyeds, but I will warn you that they are a very difficult dog to own.

Would recommend a rake, but only when the coat is entirely dry. Wide teeth.
