- jks might just be the greatest stand-in in esports history.
He struggled for years, almost missed his shot at finally hitting the top tier of CS:GO, and then, finally, he got his chance at redemption when no one believed he had it in him.
jks wasn't even supposed to be at IEM Katowice 2022 - and won it all anyway.

Twistzz has an eye for talent, the fact that he recognized jks and pushed to have him as the stand-in
jks is also wearing a copy of one of Twistzz’s jerseys lol how wholesome :)
Twistzz realized that NA was a dead end and left that scene. He has great intuition in that regard
Lol jks has been great tier1 player for years
jks has literally carried the (what used to be) Renegades roster since 2015, he's been recognized for a long time but hasn't achieved much unfortunately
yes. he also the one who insist faze must get ropz
this aged like fine wine 😂 Jks killing it in G2 now
Tbh jks was sleeping in g2 till world finals
this comment aged like fine wine as well. G2 Won IEM Katowice with JKS at the helm and Hunter and Hooxi stepping up huge
@@soul1342 he already mentioned, how he's getting comfortable with the team and how they're giving the space, now he's at top
Just got mvp at Katowice
@FrinceDave Beat G2 at Katowice with Faze 2022, then Knocks out Faze and wins 2023 with G2 :P
Im so happy its working for him
When jks said " i dnt want to be the reason this team gets eliminated", he won my heart. I surely see a top tier team signing him and him shining
He was born to play in faze rain should get switched while there's still time
@@shin29534 rain literally won mvp while faze won the major. chill out bro
@@raychippy1586 rain still cracked af. when it rains it pours ☔
sadly he got signed to g2 :( with hooxi
g2 sadge
I was very upset my boys in black, G2, lost to a team with a stand-in, but hot damn did he play well
I think it's a testament to how good the faze guys are as teammates. Twistzz said that everyone adjusted and made some sacrifices to let jks feel comfortable and do what he does best, as in they accommodated him to the best of their abilities
@@I-am-in-excruciating-pain And big up to Twist. He certainly knows how to spot at good player. Great shout by him to select JKS as the stand.
Like G2 is a good team🤣
@@NeweyAdrian1 Low tier bait. G2 has insanely high ceiling. At their best they could win a major 100%.
@@I-am-in-excruciating-pain They adjusted more for him as a stand-in than complexity did with him as an actual full time player.
The fact that he stand-in for 2 different insane players is just crazy.
karrigan system baby
The fact he played both roles to absolute perfection a lot of the maps that where played is just the craziest part to me. It felt like he was top fragging every game ngl.
jks will always have a soft spot in my heart. Dude was different and humble. Near the top of my list for favorite players.
It's an affront to the CS Gods that jks is still without a team.
Technically its now or never, the mayor reshuffle should give him the opportunity, if he can't find a team now i think he will need to go back to na or Australia and restart unfortunately
I still don't know why Liquid or EG did not pick him up, every game of Renegades then 100T he was one of the best if not the best on the server in those games
This video will put him on the map even more now, hopefully he will be able to find a team that suits him.
@@yiannisharalambidis4418 simply because jks wants to be in an EU team and not that dead wasteland NA cs is
@@bigphishey No don't let NA ruin anymore players.
All the winners in any field or any game you name it weren't supposed to be there.... But they were! And that always makes the difference! Respect for JKS! Incredible video!
I'm pretty sure all the original team members on a team, is supposed to be there...
Give this man a team what he deserves !🔥
Imagine seeing the guy that was standing in for you win the tournament💀
fr hahahah
Major MVP all good
I'm sure it sucked at the time but Rain then won the Major and was Major MVP. I doubt he gives a shit
Eh, i mean, he got MVP after that so
Lmao the guy he stoor in for won the next tournament which was bigger
jks wearing a twistzz jersey is kinda funny and fitting seeing as he pushed for him to join as their stand in, as if twistzz was jks’s sponsor.
I hope Mr. .Savage gets a spot on a half decent team now in the transfer window
Hope that he takes the spot of shox on liquid
@@viniciusmelo7418 dont think anyone wants to go to na he'd be the best player over there lmao NA cs is so shit literally the bottom of all cs rn
@@mattzces what's the point when you can't join any good eu team either?
@@dkirby1906 if he went to NA he’d be like smooya and s1mple that dominated and he’s said already in interviews he prefers the EU as in NA is literally the same shit teams play against each other
@@mattzces idk hopefully he finds a team soon though
Jks said "I don't want to be the reason for their defeat"
Turned out to be one of the biggest reason for their victory
I wish good org sign him
tbh jks been incredible during the renegade days, saw him topping on weekly kda on hltv a few times
He is such an amazing rifler who plays at in unthinkably high level. It is a shame what G2 did to him.
Great to see some Australian talent being shown in esports
watching this after G2 released the announcement video of jks and Hooxi joining the team, happy that jks isnt a stand in anymore, definitely deserved to be in G2
love to see some Australian representation, Jks is a legend and an extremely humble dude!
i feel like this is the best example of how a great player fitting very well into a team is what allows them to reach their full potential. not that he was held back by previous teams, but it's clear how synergy is so important in pro play
"jks with a mow down and savagery on site"
Man Harry and Hugo are just amazing
Absolute legend
Hope he has a bright future ahead
Now he plays for G2 and just won a tournament
Still no ESL One Stockholm Dota 2 video, where Ceb could be argued to be a better stand-in, and which cemented him among the GOATs even for people who didn't already think so before this.
Did you read? It's CSGO's greatest Stand-In. Not eSports.
@@Flamuski Did you watch?Lliterally the first 10 seconds of the video, the narrator claims it's "greatest stand-in in esports history."
@@Flamuski Even when they were teasing this video in their previous one, they claimed it was about the greatest stand-in in esports history.
Justice for jks
As an Australian esports fan. jks was the first player ever for me and for many others in Australia to be proud of. Finally we have someone to cheer for
great first episode - looking forward to more from the series
Im so happy for jks. Now im rooting for g2
And now G2 took advantage. IEM Cologne 2023 is now jKs
Next story has to be Ceb standin for OG
Ropz was smiling at 8:47 cuz he knew, he was no longer, a baiter.
Loved the new hair style, Daniel, oh, and the series too. Keep it up, buddy 💛
Thanks friend!
he had to wear a old twistzz jersey that entire tournament
haha yeah i noticed that
I loved watching him help faze get a victory
And now he won IEM Cologne with G2!!! I have a feeling that we are gonna see even greater things happen with this G2 lineup
And now he won it twice. Absolut Machine
Forever known as Justin Katowice Savage
And now 3 times
So glad to see JKS grow. Dudes a monster.
You should also do one on JMW subbing in for the ALGS Lan in Sweden this year and winning it all
I hope this series covers Wings gaming and their run for the aegis at ti6.. Those players deserve a video from thescoreesports.
yeah, they deserve more than what happened to them
@@jhigzzz what happened to them, I don't watch a lot of dota2
@@isayah2510 they won the TI6 tournament without being the favorites, dominated the whole event along the way. But the owner of their organisation used all the prize money to invest in other games and stiffed them of their prize pool.
Later, CCP banned all players from playing esports in China.
p.s. Before this incident, China had always won TI every alternating year. But after that no matter how much strong their teams are, they always end up loosing in finals or get 3rd place finish. This is termed as "Wing's curse" in the community.
@@skar9556 wait, which players are banned? And for what reason?
@@giorgimartiashvili97 all 5 players were banned by ACE, the authority over every regional dota event in china.
And now he is in G2, wish this man the best cus man do I like him
Insane video, keep it up
I remember watching jks on Renegades way back in the day and he was always a cut above the rest on that team, glad to see he's reaching his potential fragging tf out.
Please make one about Ceb Dota too, he wasn't supposed to be in the major, but he was there as a stand-in to replace the OG's captain Misha due to visa issue. He's supposed to be retired even tho he still play pubs everyday like any other pros. Winning major as a stand-in was the cherry on top for him
Dont forget Ceb was also MVP of the tournament.
underpromise and overdeliver is definitely this guy's game.
its crazy to see stand-ins won a whole tournament w Faze, we have Cromen, Xizt, and now Jks, its insane
I love this format
I guess there is a pattern to this. Back when I played comp in a certain videogame I would also get a message from one of my mates asking me to stand in for a 3rd place match in a league. We didnt win but I was almost top fragging - I didnt feel any pressure and we all just played our best because there werent any expectations
the people who make these videos and commentate them are awesome 👏👏
Ceb in OG at Dota 2 Major was similar, also Snax at IEM Dallas
AND HE WINS IT AGAIN
First we had Cromen, and now JKS. Faze Stand Ins are absolutely insane
Here again after he won it with the very team he helped beat last year. My new favorite CSGO player!
Jmw was also amazing as a sub for RIG in Apex Legends LAN. I think that these examples just show that some players just need a good team to excel.
Respect to astralis for letting jks play in their place
nah the best stand-in in esport history is Ceb in Dota 2 Stockholm Major 2022, change my mind
Yeah. But of course thescore continues to ignore Dota 2.
I know it's been a year or so but shout out to Twistzz for encouraging him to come back. He really proved himself with this tourney!
as an australian, im proud of ya mate!
Oh, Karrigan. Cracks me up every time 😂
good video! I think a nice follow up would be a short video of Rain's redemption. Many said jKs should replace rain, but then Antwerpen happened. I have not seen a "-rain" in a while. It would be a nice follow up on this. Of course, all the best to Mr. Savage for finding a new team.
"Right man in the right place at the right time"..
If JKS is not signed to a new team I am doubting CSGO in general! That kid is insane
Almost 2 months ago, Apex Legends ALGS's Champions, RiG also won with a Stand-in. I wish that the The Score would make more videos for Apex. 😕 That game is currently the standard of competitive BR games.
agreed
That final game was absolutely crazy
because br's arent real competitive esports. to many rng factors come into play with that genre
@@brocksinclair66 yeah I agree, but that's the charm of it. Seeing a team having little to no resources/loot and being able to win a game by sheer skill is just fun and exciting to watch. It is not 100% luck, it is how they utilize the opportunity that wins the game. Also, the points system in ALGS is well organized.
jks: "I don't want to be the reason FaZe drops out of the tournament."
*Proceeds to win the whole Tournament*
this video needs an update after Katowice, the mans an absolute god.
jks deserve a good team. I knew he's better than any 2 tier european players. He's at G2 level.
Oh remember Tenz standing in for SEN Sinatraa? Ceb standing in for Misha in Stockholm Major? There's a lot of amazing standins.
This also shows on why Karrigan is the best IGL of all time. He could make any lineup work
But also credits to the whole team as it wouldn’t work out if they weren’t willing to adjust. Twistzz and Ropz said they all adjusted for jks, and he was a great 1 for 1 replacement for ropz, but not for rain. So they took some roles of rain instead of jks.
Hope he's gonna be comfortable in G2, role wise, that is. There's already niko and hunter taking a lot of space, so it'd be a shame to see jks be a shadow of himself due to doo-doo spots.
Thats actually a great story!
Man now he's back to back champion and on a another team to
Definition of clutching
i really hope ence win iem dallas (navi fan) just because i would give anything to see snax win another s tier tournament
I remember this vividly, what an animal.
Dude just won back to back katowices
Now this is epic
13:55 karrigan head bumping the screen rofl
Wont Ceb being retired coming in, be also a stand in
This man has been playing at cyber cafes since he has nowhere to play. Despite that he helped faze win a tourney its really a shame that such a great player is being burdened by his past because in complexity they did him no justice neither did renegades. I really want to see him play again hope he finds a team soon or even join faze by some miracle
big up JKS
at 4:04 the sound went so deep into my ears, not loudly, but so intra-ear that I had to repeat 3x to be sure there wasn't anybody out of my room screaming like that.
You gotta do one about spart and the las Angeles guerillas (cod) They had one of the best lower bracket runs ever
WTF dis dude won kato 2023 with G2 also the dhl mvp award with it.
Man Is An Actual Savage
OG STOCKHOLM MAJOR VIDEO LETS GO
I loved watching him play and bring faze an win
Nice to see an Aussie in the pro scene
When he smiles he wins
great video!
wish they can do a video like this for Jmw in apex who won ALGS 2022
Hope he got good team soon!
Only back to back to have done it on different teams!
looking forward to “Worth”
King of Katowice!! 2 time Champion!!
And he ends up on the team he helped beat, G2!
jks makes me so proud ot be aussie
a real grinder, you can't hate him
Will he be out done by Snax ?😂😂 is the only thing to watch out for in IEM Dallas.
IEM Dallas is in no way near as prestigious as IEM katowice itself , katowice was a premier event and iem dallas is just another event and on that note , faze won 2 tournament same as this iem dallas when faze had Xizt and Cromen , so nope. Karrigan is still the best igl when using stand in
Wait and see which team gonna be in final. It's not over yet
@@dedood the 😂emoji was to show that this is just a joke msg 😅 obviously this nowhere close moreover the calibre of teams is not there standins blah blah.. so yeah I get the gravitas of an event like katowice
@@ytgc-royalewarex5190 I'm just happy for snax the dude is good hopefully his form continues and he can rise up "big apple and snax is hungry"(I hope)
Yes it will be as legendary because SNAX has not been in the tier 1 scene for years now. If the dude rolls back the years and showed a glimpse of his prime again....ppl are gonna be hyped
Ropz and Jks were outstanding. Not saying others were bad or anything but they definitely stood out
Like the stand in for Reignite in ALGS Playoffs. Jmw didnt have a team but was called up when Genburten caught the rona.
BACK TO BACK
Nice hair! And more importantly, great video
jks straight up said "bench? what bench?"
