I think and to what ive learned and listened about is that the reason that Rojas fragrances are the success that they are is because they are the closest thing out there in the market to the natural and organic way that perfumes where once created before the guideline and regulations of the reformulation procedure that all fragrance products had to be. They are the closest to the vintage formulas that you can possibly find commercially that is without breaking any guidelines and rules ect. Hope this helps😀😀😀😀
Thank you for this honest review! It's wild to me when I see so many fragrance reviewers covering Roja and not talking about how similar the perfumes are to classic fragrances (let's be real, they're often outright copies). Coupled with the astronomical price, this brand is depressingly cynical. Videos like these are why I value your channel so much - I know you will speak your mind and be genuine. ❤️
I’ve read that many people feel like Roja fragrances are basically his version of other fragrances dressed up in fancy bottles...so when you kept saying “I’ve smelled this before” I was thinking, yes you probably have lol. I’m wearing a perfume with peach in it today...not a Roja, so no need to cut a bitch 😂
They have one called Risqué. I bought the dupe from Perfume Parlour and it's exactly the same but three times stronger and probably fifty times cheaper. Ridiculous.
Roja worked for guerlain and actually rose to the highest level anyone who is a non guerlain by birth rose to before the sale to LVMH. My favorite fragrence of all time is guerlain heritage the vintage edt and roja danger pour smells just like it with some interesting castoereum and ambergris. Also my favorite Roja is Diaghilev which is his take on mitsouko. I know all of this and still bought those two i also like his vetiver. If you dont know perfume history and smell danger pour but never smelled heritage or if you have never smelled mutsouko and smell Diaghilev you will pull your wallet out of your pants so fast your head will spin. That being said i dont recommend Rojas to someone new to fragrence. Roja is for the guy or girl who has been into fragrences for a decade and they want to experience rojas take on the classics. I mean how do you improve the greatest fragrences of all time?! Well vintage mitsouko is much different than what they are issuing today. Does Diaghilev smell like vintage mitsouko? Yes and no. But it harkens back to a time before ifra and before the rise of the million and one flankers and rise of ambrone and ambromine. It is interesting if you like to wear fragrence and get into deep intellectual mode and break a fragrence down. ROJA parfums is fun to do that sometimes. Is it worth 500 dollars for 50 ml or 1200 bucks for 100 ml of Diaghilev? Probably not. Even with the highest quality materials in the world he could sell them for a 5th of the price and make money. BUT i dont think the public would be as smitten with Roja if the price wasnt so in the stratesphere. If you think his creations are rips offs for example fetish pour homme smells like bel ami (sort of) and you ferl he is a rip off and want to spend 300 bucks for true niche perfumerie buy a bortnikoff or papillon or tauer or amouage. But if you like the classics and dont want to go on vintage hunts and youncan spend a G without batting an eye there are some Rojas you might like. And the caps are pretty like you pointed out lol -Ramsey
I attended a Mitsouko event a few weeks ago. While I was in the fragrance department of Saks I smelled Diaghilev for the first time. A very weak pale interpretation of Mitsouko in my opinion. The Guerlain people thought the same thing 😉 PS the Guerlain brand ambassador was there with a rare bottle of vintage Mitsouko and sprayed some for me to smell …. Trust me when I tell you …. Diaghilev can’t hold a candle to the vintage formulation of Mitsouko NOR to the current formulation for that matter.
@@Daunou777 i have both vintage mitsouko from the 70s or early 80s albeit its the EDC they dont make anymore & the current edp and about 30 ml of a 100 ml left from my Diaghilev bottle & i find Diaghilev quite interesting. Rojas skill in my mind is his ability to hide the "Naughty" notes just out of reach enough for the concious mind to not instantly reject it but in the background enough to keep wanting more. Diaghilev smells like a "dirty" mitsouko to me. Although our society has become more "dirty" as the years have gone on so it makes sense. If it matters to you i think mitsouko is the greatest chypre ever created end stop. But i still find Diaghilev facinating. If you love Mitsouko & all you did was smell Diaghilev at saks get one of Rojas 7.5 ml discovery atomizers and spend a few weeks to a month with it. I have found most chypre lovers will end up buying a full bottle after that with in a year if they spend time with it. It is really one of my favorite fragrences of all time. But i still dont think its as good as mitsouko 😉 ‐Ramsey
@@RamseytheRam perhaps I shall try your suggestion. Question from whom do you buy your vintage Mitsoukos ? I’m so hesitant with vintages frags. Have a lovely evening
I almost cried when I saw the intro of you removing the Roja Jewel from the cap. As much as I don’t like the bling, it’s how Roja intended his bottle. Amber Aoud, A Goodnight Kiss is beautiful and a splurge, Scandal for woman is a beautiful interpretation of the classic white florals. Rojas’s talent to me is in taking the classics and mastering them into the modern world with high quality ingredients. He’s also excellent at the interpretation of an idea like his middle eastern country series, dighlev, and a good night’s kiss which to me is a woman wearing fur, with her hair and makeup done and a hit of a French scent like Apres L’Ondee or another violet based Guerlain.
I currently have 51 pour femme, ( half price Harrods sale last yr). It reminds me of a much weaker Micallef Ylang in Gold. Your wall decoration always reminds me of Ylang in Gold bottle, with gems.
I have a few Rojas and I love all of them, Enigma Pour Femme, 51, Scanda, Ahmla, Elixir and Danger. I also have a couple travel sizes Enigma Aoud and Midsummer Dream. Out of all of them my favorite is Midsummer dream, it’s gorgeous on my skin, It lasts over 12 hours and more than a week on my clothes, I get whiffs of it throughout the day and night.
