I think it's because a lot of bl dramas/films use amateur actors, some of whom are probably still very new to acting. Not to mention that most bl just focus on...well .. bl while scarifying actual plot (like nothing is happening except for two guys falling in love). I wish we have more of a diversity in the genre, rather than fluffy romance or tragic romance - like adventure, fantasy, mystery, horror, thriller, human drama, etc - with the two main characters happen to be males and falling in love through the course of the story.

But then we are cursed with china censorship and everything turns into really really strong bromance. With how Thai, Korea and Japan are a little bit more open, I wish we could have a bit more. I mean even the western LGBTQ+ media is almost always about coming of age, coming out, falling in love..etc. Yes, those are important but for every heteronomative coming of age,romance stories, there are equal amounts of other stories featuring heterosexual couple. Why can't we have that too? Imagine a show like x files with a male lead and a male love interest? Sure, there are books, mangas,fanfictions and webtoons but wouldn't it be great to see it on screen too?

I picked it up coz the storyline was compelling. And m a sucker for dystopian settings. But from interaction 1, the leads had such sexual tension that just continued throught the show. *Spoiler* and i find it telling that Gaon moved along after Soo Yuna's death but was ready to die when he thought Yohan was dead, i mean come on!
This drama series was at another level. You will never experience such level of chemistry without any female lead in any k dramas. Both of them are really exceptional and jinyoung is my bias❤❤❤

This edit gets 100/100. Honestly even after having already watched the drama seeing this edit feels like it really is a BL show. The chemistry between these two is far more superior than most of the couples in BL shows.
If it would have actually crossed that line into an actual bl it would have been the number one in my book. The actors are so good I dunno if they would have been able to a kiss scene well but they certainly were good at bringing tension between the two of them
There are many gorgeous Korean actors. But Ji Sung ... he's in a class by himself. All that talent wrapped up in THAT face and physique. His physical beauty is timeless. If he's aging ... he's aging like a well loved fine wine. Really hope he will do a romcom series ... he was outstanding in Whatcha Wearing. But that was a movie, not a series. Believe it or not, the reason I binge watching this on Friday and ended it yesterday because some RUclips recommendation of Yohan and Gaon. Their bromance is the element that pull me in and.. I even downloaded iqiyi app to watch it. My last kdrama was King the Eternal monarch... The one where LMH in it. Since then it was cdrama for me.

I know a lot of people ship this couple but also love the chemistry in a sibling way since Ga-On is basically a look alike of his big brother. I guess they just wanted to show how close the brothers would’ve been and how they even would’ve fought.

If Ji Sung is ever going to do a BL, this would have been it but straight on BL. He is great at anything he does -I predict -he will - do a modified BL - but more than this in the future - he us perfect for it. He has nothing to lose. Devil JUdhe reminded me of a censored BL from China LOL.
