- Miami Vice (2006) SYNOPSIS: A case involving drug lords and murder in South Florida takes a personal turn for undercover detectives Sonny Crockett (Colin Farrell) and Ricardo Tubbs (Jamie Foxx). Mom was a alcoholic so I never drank. Watched this movie and said to myself " If they were willing to go all the way to Havana for a Mojito then it must be good!" Tried it. Liked it. Realized I could drink responsibly and tried new stuff from there. Power of movies...

This scene says everything about relationships between men and women without being crude. In a culture steeped in pornography, this scene is romance. We know they will get to the physical act but that is almost unimportant. It's the journey not the destination that is beautiful.

Yeah man! This boat scene is also an tourist travel for some ones.
This movie is the most romantic movie from the XXI century. Isabella and Crockett relationship will stand overtime as an archetype of tragic love. An impossible love doomed by inevitability. This is a true melodrama. The songs fit with the almost palpable images (and beautiful colours) like lemon and mint in a mojito or if you like like salt in sea water.
The rest of the plot and all other characters are mere artifacts to wrap the true essence of the story.
I watch time over time this movie trying to save Isabella and Crockett from their fatal end. I'll still try.
Its loosely implied that he will look for her when the heat dies down. Also HEAT kicks ass too. Another Michael Man masterpiece.

One of my all time favorite...
What a film this is. It took me 2 or 3 viewings to appreciate how good it is. I think that was down to marketing. I went to the cinema expecting a rip roaring action flick. When i saw it months later on tv i realised that it wasn't the type of movie we were being sold by adverts. It was a beautiful looking story of doomed love set in amongst the international drug trade. It is a stunning movie.

Actually...that frission had started much earlier and then at 1.26 when she looks at him straight in the face without any sunglasses hiding her eyes and she tells him matter-of-factly that Jesus is not her husband...the act of securing her seat belt is clear possession...as for increasing the speed - he's been doing that for the duration of the scene...a given under the circumstances

I can watch this scene over and over again, the vibes are incredible. The music is epic here in this scene and also in the following dance session. A good example for influencing movies by music. Colin is real great, fastening Isabella‘s seat belt and fly over the sea to Havanna. Make‘s me feel good 👍👍😎😎

There's only one Crockett. Don Johnson. I'm a big Miami vice fan, but I didn't even get half way through this movie before turning it off.
M Mann is a great director but only SOME of this movie looked like Miami Vice. It's kinda like how they tried to update or reload James Bond. Miami Vice is a period piece, it is set in the 80s with 80s music as the soundtrack (a new version of "In the Air Tonight?", like yeah, as if?!?!?). It seems all anyone in Hollywood can do any more is try to remake previous material and degrade it. I thought most of the actors did fine in this but some of the dialogue and cutting was definitely messed up. Actually I've walked out of most movies in the last 12 or 15 years. In my silly opinion the actors of the tv series weren't the best but the production and cinematography made up for it.

This movie was so good not sure what the rest of u r talking about.
I was waiting to see this movie but it came and went just like that.I thought it was gonna be huge like Bad Boys but you can tell the tone was real serious.I still haven't seen it yet but I'll buy it if i see it cheap in a store.I dont know what the critics gave it but i know Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrel didnt get along while making the movie
Eh, the story was based on a so-so episode of the original series with just a few setpiece scenes taken from others, and so I was puzzled that they chose it for the movie.
I have to say though, was was weak throughout was the general lack of dialogue or drama and the unusual focus on the girl. Usually the show was more about the interplay between the cops and the drug dealers and 'women' were an occasional distraction.
If they would have even lifted "My brother's keeper" and "Calderones Return" and did a scene by scene remake of those two episodes I would have been just as entertained. I love this movie because I love Michael Mann and I believe in his product.
The problem with this movie takes place during the making of it when they chose to shoot during hurricane season, Jamie Foxx was just coming off his Oscar high and a on set accident forced them to cut a few scenes and the original planned ending out.
Shouldve been with Crockett's Theme.
