Wow wow, thankyou Gaz and Ivy for the shout out! You got it spot on, though I am born and bred a Kent lad, I now live and based in Australia 😊 Lovely video update, I enjoyed that. You have some lovely locos, especially in your new cabint 😍 Not going DCC isn't a mistake, I built my branch line as an analogue layout because that was all I knew. I was tempted by DCC, done my research and found it very easy to switch over to DCC, but as you already know, and some people have already made their point in the comments here, it can be a bit pricey. All the decoders cost a bit for each loco, plus potentially hard wiring older loco's, and of course the price of a DCC controller..... but all that being said, for me, it was totally worth it, I love running 4 trains at once and having the ability to run more!! I think DCC is worth it but comes with a bit of a high price. Take care guys, cheers
@@Platform21mr I think I’m pretty much sold on DCC now! I might’ve ordered a couple of points decoders already! I do have a Hornby E-Link DCC system from an old layout, so I might fire that up again. Was quite fun controlling everything from a PC!
Fantastic additions to the layout and love the lighting. So good the little one can get involved with his playtrain, and that it works on OO gauge track too. Look forward to your next episode. I switched to DCC around 5 years ago, and would never go back to DC analogue. Sound is the biggest difference along with running more than one loco on the same track as they are controlled individually as opposed to a blanket power to everything on that line. I would recommend Z21, but all of this will be costly as decoders start from around £25 upwards generally, depending on what decoders your your locos need. Bear in mind DMUs require 2, one at each end to control directional lights. Happy to help, just say.
Thank you so much for the input. So far the consensus is definitely leaning towards DCC. I think I can see me making the switch sooner rather than later. Thanks for watching!
Hi, Gaz and Ivy. Great update, with some nice additions and the play train has got to be the star of the show 😁 so where's the Dylington Custard distribution area going to be 😂...cheers James and Dylan 🙂👍
i love your energy guys. be careful with the switch on your lighting power so you dont reverse the polarity id be inclined to use the terminals rather than the track feed side. id hate for u to blow those led's. gaz if your going to go dcc go for it. ive just changed over myself it is quiet costly but well worth it for the enjoyment factor!! your layout is fairly small so you wont need lots of dropper cables (feeds) but there are small wire clips you can use for the points Hornby R8232 that fit in so you don't get dead spots i use a Bachmann controller its very good i also have a class 66 fited with a hornby triplex decoder that uses Bluetooth awesome bit of kit but expensive you can convert old non dcc stuff to dcc but ive not done any yet
Thanks for the advice. Seems like most people are pro-DCC. I am feeling like Ive made a mistake by not going digital from the get-go. I can see this changing in the not-too-distant future. Thanks for watching!
love watching the Duo with down to earth stuff good video ...thanks guys
Thanks for watching! 😊

I don't build layouts these days but if I did DCC would be a must for me. Things are looking good Gaz, church looks great.
Thanks for watching, Jon. Yes, I must admit, I think I am leaning towards switching over to DCC.
